Patrick Dempsey new face of Tag Heuer eyewear

Perth Now07-05-2025

Patrick Dempsey is the new face of Tag Heuer eyewear.
The 59-year-old actor-and-racing driver has been an ambassador for the brand's watches since 2014 but is expanding their partnership with a new campaign.
He told WWD: 'It's been a remarkable ride [for] over 10 years now. We've had some great adventures, some great watches and now, the sunglasses.'
The former 'Grey's Anatomy' star believes the eyewear "complements what Tag Heur is all about" in terms of motorsports, timing, competition and athleticism.
He said: 'You have a lot of that going into the technology behind the glasses, as far as lightweight practice, practical usability and then quality [go].
"[As a driver] you want something that is lightweight and doesn't distract you. You put it under your helmet or in your helmet, it disappears and you don't feel it.
"Titanium is really a good material to help support that and it's [derived] from the watches so it complements each one.'
Tag Heur hailed Patrick a part of their "family" when announcing the new collaboration.
George Ciz, Tag Heuer's chief marketing officer, said: 'Patrick Dempsey is more than a brand ambassador, he is our family. He doesn't just share our brand values, he lives them every day.
"He is the perfect embodiment of the 'Designed to Win' mindset and he is able to beautifully blend relentless pursuit for performance with unmatched elegance and style which can be felt both on the big screen as well as on the race track.'
In 2023, the 'Bridget Jones's Baby' actor created a capsule collection of eyewear for Porsche.
The Dempsey Racing co-owner said at the time: 'I have long been fascinated by the carbon fibre components in my Porsche 991 Carrera.
'They are lightweight, robust and absolutely reliable. During a race, driver and car are exposed to enormous forces. Even in the toughest conditions, the driver must be able to rely 100 per cent on his material at all times, so I didn't want to compromise on the quality of the eyewear edition either.'
The limited-edition capsule - for which there will only be 1,500 pairs for each colourway - included the P'8965 sunglasses in black-grey-blue and black-grey, plus the P'8754 prescription frame in grey-black or gold-black. All of the glasses were made from carbon fibre.

Fashion pulls at your heart, says Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs thinks fashion "pulls at your heart". The 62-year-old designer has revealed that he likes to differentiate between "clothes" and "fashion". Speaking to WWD executive editor Bridget Foley for the 'Cultural Tastemakers' series, Marc explained: "I don't know anything about clothes. "But when I wear fashion, I want a real shoulder commitment, I want a silhouette going, and I want to feel involved. "Fashion is really special and it's something you don't need. It's not a mere piece of cloth to cover your body. It's something that pulls at your heart." Marc started dreaming of becoming a designer before reaching his teenage years. He said: "I was nine years old, wanting to dress like a 21-year-old, and I had to make do with what was available." Marc observed that the fashion industry hasn't actually changed that much since the start of his career. The designer reflected: "Fashion hasn't changed. It's the same old thing. "It's a different dress, a different fabric, a different proportion. Fashion has always tried to decorate, dress and reimagine the body. And it continues to do that, just maybe in different ways than it did years ago." Despite this, Marc has never lost his enthusiasm for designing and creating. He shared: "I have so much more energy when I stumble into a new look. I feel excited about waking up in the morning because I can crunch my curls. I love getting dressed up, jewellery, shoes, all that stuff — hair and make-up and fragrance. It's, like, all I do." Marc previously revealed that his passion for designing helped him to escape his childhood troubles. He told The Fashionography: "I protected myself from all the chaos that was going on in my dysfunctional family. "My father died, my mother was in an institution, and I protected myself, my eight-year-old self by going into my bedroom, drawing, making things, putting curlers in my hair, and inventing my persona. "In my room, I was safe from the reality of the chaos of the world. So, I think it's a very learned behaviour to remove myself from what I can't deal with and create what I can."

Patrick Schwarzenegger bombarded with cash from fans while they watched him on ‘White Lotus'

Patrick Schwarzenegger was bombarded with money from fans while they watched him on 'White Lotus'. The 31-year-old actor made the revelation during an interview with People, where he sat down with his former co-star on the show, Aimee Lou Wood, to promote their new partnership with Venmo, ahead of the launch of the brand's debit card and expanded checkout features. He said: 'I don't know if this ever happened to you, Aimee – I sent it in our group text from 'White Lotus' – but I have people that sent me money on Venmo during episodes of 'White Lotus'. 'It was really strange.' He added: 'I sent it all back, don't worry. But I did. I got a lot of people that sent me money.' Aimee, 31, said she hadn't experienced anything quite like that – though her own memories of filming involved a rather expensive coconut habit while on location in Thailand. 'It was chronic,' she said, adding: 'I could not stop with the coconuts. I just absolutely loved them! I was so hydrated. I think I was overly hydrated, actually.' The pair spent seven months filming the hit HBO series last summer, and said their new work with Venmo came at the perfect time – days after they had been discussing the possibility of collaborating again. 'We immediately texted each other,' Patrick said. He added: 'We were both so excited to be able to work with Venmo, but also get to work with each other once again. And then Venmo had these different ideas of doing this amazing commercial and video and dancing to this song of 'You Can Venmo This' and 'You Can Venmo That.' 'The whole experience was just really fun and put us in a fun situation to get to dance with each other.' Aimee agreed, and reflected on the intense bond formed during the extended production, admitting to feeling 'separation anxiety' after filming wrapped. She said: 'Seven months all of us together, in the same place, and then I went back to England and it was so lonely.' Patrick added he and Aimee have remained close, spending significant time together in recent weeks. He said: 'Aimee and I worked in L.A. together, and then we both flew to New York and we worked on the same shoot in New York, and then the next day we got to do the Met Ball together. 'Then the next day we both flew to London for a week and worked together, and then I stayed for a couple of days and had some extra days off and we got to hang.'

Ana De Armas gives exciting update on Deeper production with Tom Cruise

Ana De Armas is currently "training" for 'Deeper'. The 37-year-old actress is working with 'Mission: Impossible' legend Tom Cruise on Doug Liman's supernatural thriller following an astronaut who discovers a terrible force while diving into a previously unexplored trench. Asked for an update on the project, De Armas told Deadline: "Training, just training, getting ready for what's to come!" She didn't offer any further details on the movie, but De Arms did open up on some of the lessons she'll be taking forward from her 'John Wick' spinoff 'Ballerina'. She stars as ballerina-assassin Eve Macarro in the action blockbuster, and the role has taught her to "take risks". She said: 'I think it's important to keep looking for truth, answers… To keep pushing until you find your truth no matter what. 'So, take risks and get to the bottom of it.' Meanwhile De Armas - who has been inspired by the likes of Uma Thurman - reacted to the idea she can become a similar role model for the next generation of women in film. She added: "It's beautiful, if that's the effect of my work, whether it's this movie or any other roles. It doesn't get better than that! "I'm very happy, I'm proud that that would be my contribution to younger generations. "I think this character actually has all those characteristics. It's really cool! I hope that's what it does." De Armas is preparing to work with 62-year-old Hollywood icon Cruise on 'Deeper', and she was delighted to see him supporting 'Ballerina' so publicly on his own red carpets. She told Variety: 'You know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to do well and [wants] people going to the theaters. "We're working together, so he got to see 'Ballerina' and he actually really liked it. He loved the 'John Wicks.' "It is very special that someone like him is supporting ['Ballerina']. It is really special in general to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together.' She recently revealing the process working on the upcoming thriller has been "amazing" and she's doing "crazy training". She told WWD: "Obviously, everyone knows I'm working with Tom Cruise. We're working on something with Doug Liman and ['Mission: Impossible' director] Christopher McQuarrie, and those guys are unbelievable at everything they do. "And they're so lovely and a great team, and the process we're having is amazing. And of course I'm doing crazy training, as you do when you're working with Tom. "It's another level that just keeps setting the bar higher and higher. But it's so much fun. And we're not only working on that thing that we're training for, but also a couple other things too. We just got excited."
