Fairborn's Hunger Days food truck rally brings food, music

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Food truck season is in full swing at Hobson Freedom Park in Fairborn.
The Hunger Days Food Truck Rally, organized by Cloudy Days Cotton Candy, fills the park with fun food, vendors and live music. The rally is held each Thursday from 4-8 p.m. from April through October.

Hobson Freedom Park is located at 2910 Trebein Road in Fairborn.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dave Chappelle will return to the cornfields of Yellow Springs for a new lineup of shows this summer. For the fifth year in a row, Dave Chappelle will host hometown shows in Yellow Springs throughout the summer. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 6 at noon. Wawa opening Fairfield location in late-June 'Dave Chappelle's Summer Camp' will be held at Wirrig Pavilion, featuring Chappelle himself alongside other guest appearances. Shows will span three weekends: July 2, 3 and 5 Aug. 14, 15 and 16 Aug. 21, 22 and 23 Chappelle first began his comedy shows in the cornfields of Yellow Springs during the pandemic in 2020 as a way to support the local community and bring humor to the heart of Ohio. Event organizers say each show will be a phone-free experience, with phones, smart watches and accessories not allowed during the performance. Local library opens applications for upcoming Writer and Author's Symposium

Previous coverage of the Dayton Metro Library. DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Metro Library is now receiving applications for its 2025 Writer and Author's Symposium. This is an exciting opportunity for writers to engage with the vibrant local community. There are two open roles for the event. Featured Writers: These writers will be able to directly engage with readers, promote and sell their books. Facilitators: A collection of writers, publishers, and editors who will critique the first ten pages of an emerging writer's work. This will help them improve their work and give them vital feedback. Any writer in the Miami Valley interested in either position for the Symposium can apply here, by of before Friday, July 11. Dayton Library to host senior pizza parties with college help If selected, the DML will contact the writer with additional information. Anyone can visit the Symposium, which will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., throughout the Main Library downtown. There will be workshops, mini writing-themed activities and an exploration of local authors. Registration is not required.
