Pedestrian hit by car then takes driver on horror joyride
A good Samaritan was taken on a terrifying joyride through multiple suburbs by a brazen carjacker after offering her a lift to hospital.
Cannington detectives have launched an investigation into the dramatic ordeal, which started when a 30-year-old woman driving a red Kia Picanto north-east on Canning Highway in Como hit a female pedestrian at low speed about 5pm on Saturday.
The pedestrian was running across the road when she was hit, moments before the driver offered her a lift to hospital.
Shockingly, despite the offer of assistance, the pedestrian then hopped in the Kia's driver's seat.
The pedestrian then sped off 'recklessly' onto the Kwinana Freeway before driving through the suburbs of North Perth, Osborne Park and Leederville.
'The vehicle eventually came to a stop, allowing the victim to exit,' police said.
Police said the carjacker then drove away alone before the stolen car was found in Joondanna.
Detectives are appealing for any footage of the car or the suspect to upload it directly to investigators here.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Caroline Springs shopping centre thrown into lockdown after alleged machete argument
A shopping centre in Melbourne's west has been locked down after the second incident involving machetes in a fortnight. Victoria Police said a group of between five and six males armed with machetes were arguing inside the CS Square shopping centre in Caroline Springs about 6:40pm on Friday. The centre went into lockdown as police arrived and officers found the group had already fled the scene. No injuries have been reported and police say the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging any witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online. The lockdown came after a dramatic pre-organised gang brawl involving machetes inside the Northland Shopping Centre in Preston forced its evacuation in May. Seven people have since been arrested and charged over the Preston incident. Following the incident, the Victorian government enacted a total sales ban on machetes on May 28. However, the possession of a machete will not become prohibited until a legislated ban comes into effect on September 1. The penalty for Victorians in possession of a machete will be a fine of more than $47,000 or two years in jail.

Update after body found in bin
Police have appealed for public assistance in identifying two women who may be able to assist investigations into the death of Tasmanian father Luke Jon Telega. The body of Mr Telega was found inside an industrial-sized bin behind a Salvation Army at Percy Street in Bellerive on Monday morning. His movements leading up to the heartbreaking discovery are now being pieced together by police. CCTV footage has revealed the 45-year-old caught a bus at Tollard Drive in Rokeby just after 4.30pm on May 30. A woman, dressed in a grey or white hoodie, is seen getting on the bus at the same time as Mr Telega, and then off again in the carpark of the Shoreline Hotel about 4.38pm. 'There is no suggestion the women are involved with Mr Telega's death, but police believe they may be able to help with inquiries,' Tasmanian police said on Thursday. Earlier, police appealed to speak with a woman shown on CCTV footage standing at a shopfront on Percy Street about 7.50pm on June 1. Police believe the member of the public may have spoken with someone on the street at the time. She was driving what is believed to be a light-coloured Toyota Prado. Anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
