SWAT team arrests 2 ATM robbery suspects, 1 attempted to hide in fridge to avoid capture
Two convicted felons accused in ATM robberies in King and Pierce Counties were arrested by a SWAT team in Kent on Friday.
Body cam footage shows the Renton Violent Crime Unit and Valley SWAT members taking a 39-year-old into custody at a Kent apartment complex. The footage shows him coming out of the building with his hands up, before he is told to put his hands on his head and slowly walk toward officers.
Police said he surrendered without incident after several prompts from law enforcement.
Another suspect, a 39-year-old woman, was trying to hide inside a refrigerator before she was arrested.
While officers searched the home after their arrest, they found two loaded weapons, including a fully automatic Glock and rifle. Seven phones that were possibly used in the commission of other crimes were also found.
The man has five felony convictions and was arrested on two felony warrants for illegal possession of a firearm.
The woman has 23 convictions and was arrested on warrants for residential burglary and motor vehicle theft.
Investigators believe the pair are connected to an ATM theft ring that has been working in King and Pierce Counties since late last year.

Man dies from suspected overdose, 2 arrested on drug charges
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — Two men have been arrested on drug charges after an investigation into a suspected overdose death. Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) officers responded to the Friendly Express Gas Station on Perry Road around 10 p.m. Thursday for a death investigation. Officers found a dead man inside a company box truck. Two individuals identified as Willie Thomas and Jamie Schneider, both residents of North Carolina, were present at the scene. As part of the investigation, officers recovered suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and fentanyl, along with a stolen Glock handgun, a digital scale and a glass smoking device commonly associated with narcotics use from the truck. After interviews, Willie Thomas and Jamie Schneider were arrested and taken to the local detention center. Thomas is charged three possession of schedule ii substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Jamie Schneider is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The deceased man is suspected to have died from a drug overdose, a GCPD spokesperson said. His body was reportedly transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab for a full autopsy to determine the official cause of death. MNPD: Driver found with stolen gun, drugs after leading high-speed chase on I-24
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 26-year-old man is facing a long list of charges after police said he drove at speeds of up to 110 mph Thursday night in an attempt to evade from officers. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers were in the area of Bell Road and Interstate 24 when they observed a Dodge Charger traveling 20 mph over the speed limit. A police helicopter followed the Charger as it drove on I-24 West at speeds of 110 mph with no lights on in heavy traffic. Officials said the police helicopter crew relayed to ground units that the Charger got off the interstate and entered a Hermitage neighborhood. That's when officers successfully deployed spike strips, causing the driver to drive to a nearby Hickory Highlands Drive apartment complex. Once at the apartment complex, the helicopter crew advised that the driver got out of the vehicle and threw a backpack while running away from officers. The driver—identified as 26-year-old Luis Hernandez—was taken into custody a short time later. | READ MORE | In addition to the backpack found in Hernandez's path, police said they found a second backpack in the Charger. Both backpacks reportedly contained narcotics, including 337.2 grams of meth, 662.8 grams of marijuana, THC products, three digital scales, and plastic baggies. Police said a Glock .380 handgun, which was reported stolen during a vehicle burglary in Williamson County, was also recovered from the Charger. According to Metro police, Hernandez was free on a $27,000 bond from a February 2024 arrest for felony marijuana possession, evading arrest, and driving without a license. He reportedly had five outstanding warrants for failure to appear on those charges. Booking records show Hernandez now faces 18 different charges for Thursday's incident, including five counts of failure to appear, felony drug possession, reckless endangerment (motor vehicle), theft of a firearm, evading arrest, gun possession during the commission of a felony, and driving without a license. Baton Rouge man arrested on car theft, gun charges
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department into alleged criminal activities led to the arrest of a Baton Rouge man on theft and gun charges. Anthony Thomas Jr., 22, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a machine gun. The investigation started in May of this year with Thomas as the focus. BRPD said Thomas was identified as a 'Youngin's Taking Over' member, which is tied to the 'Bleeda' gang. As the investigation unfolded, BRPD found that Thomas had a vehicle that was reported stolen. Police saw him with a Glock handgun equipped with a machine gun conversion device during surveillance. The Baton Rouge man was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, June 12.
