Here how the Nothing Phone 3's new Glyph Matrix will work

Nothing
TL;DR Nothing's new Glyph Matrix is a compact, programmable system replacing the original Glyph Interface on the upcoming Phone 3.
The micro-LED cluster enables new features like custom animations, symbols, and reactive lighting while maintaining app-based notifications.
Nothing says the design change allowed it to reclaim internal space and enhance the Phone 3's visual identity with a smaller, circular layout.
Nothing has revealed how its new Glyph Matrix system will work on the Nothing Phone 3. In an interview with Design Milk, the company's design chief shed more light on the new system replacing the Glyph Interface on Nothing's upcoming 'flagship,' and how it'll be more compact, programmable, and expressive in nature.
Nothing's transparent design language and signature Glyph Interface have been central to its smartphones from the beginning. So, when the company announced it would be moving away from the familiar LED light strips seen on previous models, it came as a surprise. Since then, Nothing has confirmed that Glyph Matrix represents the next evolution in its phone design, at least for the upcoming Phone 3.
The company has now revealed that the Glyph Matrix consists of a dense cluster of micro-LEDs, located on the top right corner of the Nothing Phone 3.
The new Glyph Matrix will be capable of displaying symbols, custom animations, and reactive lighting.
'The Glyph Matrix carries that vision forward but in a more expressive and intentional way. Instead of predefined light strips, we now have a dense field of programmable micro-LEDs, a canvas for real-time, glanceable communication that feels alive, playful, and deeply personal,' Adam Bates, Head of Design at Nothing, explained in an interview with Design Milk.

The new Glyph Matrix will be capable of displaying symbols, custom animations, and reactive lighting based on sound or user interactions. Despite the new format, users will still be able to assign lighting effects to different apps and notifications, just like with the original Glyph Interface.
'These features transform the back of the device into an expressive, functional surface, something that doesn't just alert you, but communicates with you,' Bates said.
The transition to Glyph Matrix wasn't merely a stylistic change. Nothing told Design Milk that by removing the more expansive Glyph Interface, the company was able to reclaim valuable space inside the phone.
'By condensing the system into a matrix, we freed up space inside the phone while enabling a much higher degree of programmability. The compact circular format also gave us a striking visual identity that's immediately recognizable and unmistakably Nothing,' Bates said.

Preventative AI Is Poised To Transform Health Insurance

Senior woman using health technology Backed by more than $250 million of venture capital from Creandum, Target Global, OurCrowd, Dai-ichi Life, and others, London-based startup YuLife is defining a new category—Preventative AI—at the intersection of insurance, AI, and wellness. Preventative AI transforms health insurance from static underwriting to adaptive, biometric-driven risk intelligence. Integrating wearable data, causal AI, and reinforcement learning, it enables proactive health interventions at scale. YuLife launched its proprietary, real-time Preventative AI platform today, replacing traditional risk assessment tools that rely on legacy datasets and backwards-looking models with a multi-layered, novel approach. It combines biometric streaming, causal modelling and federated learning, on top of which sits its patented, adaptive health questionnaire and predictive analytics engine. YuLife describes it as an 'adaptive risk engine' that continuously learns, engages, and optimizes, delivering value to users and underwriters in real-time. The health signals data for YuLife's AI comes from wearables and IoT devices via secure, low-latency pipelines. The data is normalized, de-duplicated and time-aligned in real time, ensuring that every heart-rate spike or sleep disturbance immediately informs the AI risk models. Analyzing the data, YuLife's Preventive AI platform dynamically tests hypotheses, uncovering the behaviors that drive beneficial outcomes. For example, does increasing midday steps result in a reduction of late-night restlessness? Individual records are not centralized to ensure privacy protection and only anonymized summaries are shared back from users' devices. A complimentary data source feeding the AI models is a dynamic, continuously customized survey of more than 300 questions about 23 wellbeing topics such as diet, mindful eating, and social connections. The design of the survey is based on the knowledge gained by the UK Biobank research, a large-scale, long-term health study. It has collected and continues to track in-depth genetic, lifestyle, and health data from over 500,000 participants aged 40–69, and is widely regarded as a gold standard for population health research. YuLife's analysis of the data allows it to identify emerging health risks in real time and deliver timely, personalized nudges (e.g., 'Try a 5-minute breathing exercise now') or unlock targeted rewards. It also uses game mechanics to drive frequent engagement, ensuring the AI platform learns from each interaction. Users are rewarded with YuCoin, driving long-term participation and measurable lifestyle improvements. The Preventative AI platform offers underwriters causal insights, indicating what will happen and why, while maintaining compliance with emerging AI governance frameworks. It is modular and cloud-native, enabling seamless integration with enterprise benefits platforms, insurance systems, and healthcare networks. YuLife has validated its AI through academic partnerships, and early deployment data shows significant reductions in risk indicators and claims. AI and wearable technology are revolutionizing health and wellness by enabling personalized, data-driven care. From early disease detection to real-time health monitoring, these innovations are helping individuals take control of their health while also supporting healthcare providers in delivering better outcomes. In its most recent survey of the $2 trillion global wellness market, McKinsey found that younger generations are increasingly prioritizing wellness. Nearly 30% of Gen Zers (people born between 1997 and 2012) and millennials (born between 1981 and 1996) in the United States report prioritizing wellness 'a lot more' compared with one year ago, versus up to 23% of older generations. 'Older consumers,' says McKinsey, 'still represent a meaningful opportunity for wellness players, especially in advanced markets with ageing populations.' YuLife highlights a few data points to explain the urgent need to redefine health insurance: 68% of consumers do not trust their insurer, and almost no engagement or value is delivered to consumers daily. At the same time, approximately 80% of chronic disease and premature death could be prevented by not smoking, being physically active, and adhering to a healthful dietary pattern. The estimated cost of chronic disease is expected to reach $47 trillion worldwide by 2030. Enlisting AI to proactively help consumers adjust their lifestyle habits and improve their health could be an essential step in reducing this global burden.

Did you know your Samsung phone has a secret Wi-Fi menu? Here's how to enable it

Joe Maring / Android Authority If you have a Samsung phone, there's a good chance you chose it over competing Android handsets because of the sheer number of settings Samsung lets you play with. Whether it's having a half-dozen ways to take a screenshot or creating a powerful automation system with Samsung Routines, there's no shortage of ways to get the most out of a Samsung Galaxy phone. While Samsung makes some of these things readily available and easy to find, other software features are far less obvious — with some completely hidden unless you know exactly where to look. One such example is the 'Connectivity Labs' Wi-Fi settings menu. It's buried deep in the Settings app on your Samsung phone, and it's something I didn't know existed until just the other day. Which is a shame, because there's some really cool stuff in here. Let me show you. Did you know about Samsung's Connectivity Labs? 0 votes Yes NaN % No NaN % How to find Samsung's secret Wi-Fi settings Joe Maring / Android Authority So, where is this hidden Wi-Fi settings menu? Here's how to find and activate it: Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone. Tap Connections. Tap Wi-Fi. Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner. Tap Intelligent Wi-Fi. From this page, find the Intelligent Wi-Fi button at the bottom and repeatedly tap it. You'll see a pop-up letting you know that Connectivity Labs will be enabled if you keep tapping, so keep on doing that until you see the new Connectivity Labs option appear below Intelligent Wi-Fi. It seems that Connectivity Labs was quietly added sometime in 2023, and it recently garnered a fresh batch of attention over the weekend on the r/SamsungGalaxy subreddit. I've confirmed that Connectivity Labs is available on Samsung phones running One UI 7 and the One UI 8 Beta. Given that Connectivity Labs was introduced in 2023, it should also be present on Samsung phones that still have One UI 6. The best Connectivity Labs features you should try Joe Maring / Android Authority Once Connectivity Labs is enabled, you'll find a swath of new settings to play around with. The page starts by showing a graph of your Wi-Fi time and usage over the past week, including which specific bands you were using. It's neat, but there are far more interesting things to check out. Scroll past this graph, and you're met with a laundry list of settings and toggles. You can play with all of them if you want, but I want to highlight a few of my favorites. The first option on the list, Home Wi-Fi inspection, is particularly cool. Once you select it and tap on your home Wi-Fi network, you're asked to walk around your house while the feature tests all the different access points and bands of your router, determining if there are any weak signal areas. There are also some helpful toggles to configure how your phone stays connected to Wi-Fi networks and when it disconnects from them. The Switching to mobile data faster toggle, for example, will stop your phone from holding onto a weak Wi-Fi signal for too long and jump to your mobile data sooner than it typically does — something you may want to enable if you have an unlimited data plan and aren't worried about your mobile data useage. Auto reconnect to carrier Wi-Fi is another interesting setting. If you have a carrier like Xfinity Mobile or Spectrum Mobile, your phone probably automatically connects to your carrier's public Wi-Fi hotspots to supplement your cell coverage. This is enabled by default, but if you don't want that to happen, you can easily disable it from this menu. I also quite like the Customize Wi-Fi list settings page. From here, you can enable a filter button on your main Wi-Fi networks page. When you tap it, you can choose to only see secured networks, Wi-Fi 6 connections, etc. Finally, if you tap Wi-Fi developer options at the bottom of the Connectivity Labs page, you'll find an entirely new menu of even more Wi-Fi settings to fiddle with. Joe Maring / Android Authority You can probably ignore most of these, but the Nearby Wi-Fi information page is quite helpful. It displays a list of all nearby Wi-Fi networks, along with their signal strengths, categorized as Best, Good, Bad, and Worst. If you're in an area with a lot of public Wi-Fi networks to choose from, this could be a great way to ensure you choose the best one. Who knew this was here? Joe Maring / Android Authority Had I not stumbled across that recent Reddit thread, I probably never would have known that Connectivity Labs existed. And given the small amount of reporting/discussion there is about Connectivity Labs online, it seems that most people don't know about it either. I'm not sure why Samsung has these settings buried so deeply and behind so many sub-menus. There's genuinely useful stuff here, and while some of the settings are a bit technical, almost anyone can benefit from features like the home Wi-Fi inspection and the Wi-Fi filter menu. I'd love to see Samsung make some of these settings more obvious, but until that happens, hopefully, this article helped you find them.

3 Phenomenal AI Stocks That Investors Should Load Up On

Nvidia's GPUs have built most of the AI technology we experience today. Taiwan Semiconductor's chips power nearly every AI device. Broadcom's connectivity switches and XPUs are slated to grow as inference becomes more common. 10 stocks we like better than Nvidia › Artificial intelligence (AI) investing doesn't have to be hard. Plenty of stocks look like attractive investments, and they're often right in front of investors. Successful AI investing doesn't mean finding the next Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR) or Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA); sometimes, it's just picking the proven winners and letting them deliver. That's why I think this trio is an excellent investment, as all three have a proven track record of delivering excellent results for investors. Three stocks that I think investors should load up on are Nvidia, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM), and Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO). There's a common theme that unites these three stocks and makes them excellent buys right now. Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) have built the AI products that we know and interact with today, and with its leadership position, that won't change anytime soon. Nvidia is continually innovating and developing the best GPUs possible, which has kept it at the top of the AI arms race over the past few years. However, Nvidia wouldn't be able to keep innovating without Taiwan Semiconductor's production capabilities. Nvidia can't make chips, so it farms that work out to Taiwan Semiconductor, the world's leading contract chip manufacturer. Taiwan Semiconductor's facilities allow it to produce the most advanced chips in the world at an impressive yield, which is why nearly every competitor in the AI arms race uses its chips. Another company that uses chips from TSMC is Broadcom, which is involved in the AI arms race in two ways. The first way is its connectivity switches. These devices allow GPUs to operate independently from each other, and the information from each device is stitched together to form an answer to a workload that was split across multiple GPUs. Additionally, Broadcom partners with AI hyperscalers to develop their own custom AI accelerators, which it calls XPUs. XPUs can outperform GPUs in specific scenarios Broadcom and the end user have designed them for. While this technology isn't going to replace GPUs, it complements them in a well-rounded AI infrastructure buildout. While this trio has experienced impressive growth over the past few years, they still have a lot ahead of them, making them excellent investment options right now. Nvidia's growth has stayed rapid over a time frame most investors would have never thought possible two years ago. If third-party projections come true, it could extend even further. During its 2025 GTC event, Nvidia cited a third-party research company's projection that data center capital expenditures will rise from $400 billion in 2024 to $1 trillion by 2028. That's huge growth, and considering that Nvidia gets a nice chunk of that pie if the buildouts expand to $1 trillion by 2028, Nvidia would be an excellent stock to buy now. Taiwan Semiconductor's management is very bullish on its growth prospects, thanks to AI. Over the next two years, it sees a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 45% for AI-related revenue. This will help push its overall growth rate to nearly a 20% CAGR, which is incredible growth considering TSMC's size and dominance already. Broadcom may have the most bullish outlook, as it's slated to see huge growth as AI inference begins to take over. Inference occurs when an AI model is pinged for an answer, and Broadcom's connectivity switches and XPU are perfectly suited for these tasks. As a result, it expects to see massive growth over the next few years. In fiscal year 2024, which ended Nov. 3, 2024, Broadcom's AI-related revenue from semiconductors (including switches and XPUs) was $12.2 billion. However, that could reach anywhere from $60 billion to $90 billion by fiscal year 2027, resulting in massive growth for Broadcom's stock. Although all three stocks have been successful investments over the past few years, they are also excellent stock picks for the future. As a result, I think investors should take the opportunity to increase their position size or add these stocks to their portfolio. If AI-related spending continues to grow, these three will be its primary beneficiaries. There are clear signs of increasing AI spending, making this group a no-brainer buy.
