Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann has announced an exciting new Elvis Presley project, three years after the release of his celebrated movie about the King of Rock.
The Oscar-nominated director, 62, shared a post to social media on Friday revealing he would soon be screening a new Elvis Presley documentary, featuring never-before-seen footage of the late singer.
'During the making of ELVIS, we went on a search for rumoured unseen footage from the iconic 1970s concert films That's The Way It Is and Elvis on Tour,' Baz wrote.
'I had researchers go into the Warners Bros. film vaults buried in underground salt mines and, to the astonishment of all, we uncovered 68 boxes of film negative, as well as unseen 8mm footage.'
Baz added he had spent two years putting the footage together and would soon be releasing it for fans.

'One of the great finds has been unheard recordings of Elvis talking about his life and his music. It was this that gave the inspiration for EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, which is not specifically a documentary, nor a concert film,' he wrote.
'As the journey of creating this film continues, I seriously can't wait to share it with you all!'
The movie is set to be released later this year.
His musical biopic of Elvis Presley grossed a massive US$288million (AU$449m) globally.
Elvis became Australia's second biggest film opening ever when it was released in June 2022 - beaten only by The Great Gatsby, which was also directed by Baz.
At the time, Hugh Jackman said newcomer Austin Butler 'crushes it' in his role as Elvis Presley.
Butler's performance as the King of Rock 'n' Roll has already catapulted him to global fame.
He was previously known for his small role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Hugh concluded his review of Elvis by saying: 'I highly, highly recommend you all go out to see it.'
It was nominated in eight Oscar categories at the 2023 Academy Awards, although did not win any.
Baz's movies are highly regarded for blending a modern style with older music and aesthetics.
It comes after the Gold Coast 'shack' Luhrmann and wife Catherine Martin rented while they were making Elvis sold for $5.72million.
The couple have been living increasingly 'separate lives' in recent years, with the costume designer living in the Miami area home while the director worked in New York.
Baz and Catherine have been married for 27 years and recently saw their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move out of home.
He rose to fame as the director of the Australian box office hit Strictly Ballroom in 1992.
The filmmaker followed it up with more hits including Romeo + Juliet (1996) with Leonardo DiCaprio, Moulin Rouge! (2001) and Australia (2008) both with Nicole Kidman and The Great Gatsby (2013), which also featured DiCaprio.

Aussie cops accused of 'George Floyd moment' after late night arrest on video leaves a man in a coma on life support

A father-of-two who was tackled to the ground and allegedly kneed in the neck by police remains in a critical condition with suspected brain damage. Police allegedly witnessed an altercation between Gaurav Kundi, 42, and his partner Amritpal Kaur in Adelaide 's eastern suburbs early Thursday. According to authorities, Mr Kundi allegedly 'violently resisted' arrest before he became unresponsive while on the ground. Footage filmed by his partner showed Mr Kundi screaming as several officers tried to detain him against a police car. 'I've done nothing wrong,' he shouted. His frantic partner added: 'Yeah, he hasn't done anything, what the hell!' The footage appeared to show police forcing Mr Kundi to the ground. 'Oh my God! They are doing unfair!' Ms Kaur screamed. Ms Kaur alleged an officer put a knee into his neck after she stopped filming due to being in a state of panic. Mr Kundi was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition, where he remains on life support. His partner claims the incident would have been avoided had police asked what had happened. 'They needed to ask first what we were doing,' Ms Kaur told Daily Mail Australia on Sunday night. '(The police) can't do this sh*t with someone's life.' Ms Kaur said that her partner spent the evening drinking before leaving their home. She followed him and offered assistance while trying to convince him to come home. Mr Kundi tried to push away her away, telling her he could walk himself. It's understood a passing patrol car mistook the incident for 'domestic violence'. 'I keep saying (to the police) he's not well, he's not well, please don't do this, just call the ambulance,' Ms Kaur said. She claimed she tried to warn police about Mr Kundi's pre-existing health conditions. 'His health is not very good and is heart is not working,' Ms Kaur told Nine News. Doctors can't guarantee that he will wake up from his coma 'His brain is damaged because the policeman hit very badly on the road. On the car, his head. And his neck nerve,' Ms Kaur said. 'Maybe he will wake up if brain works or maybe he will not.' 'I am just sitting over there and praying to God. Nothing else I can do. Nothing else I can do.' No charges have been laid. South Australian Police has launched an internal investigation into the incident as inquiries continue. Authorities will examine 'all evidence', including body-worn footage. SA Acting Assistant Commissioner John DeCandia previously stated he was satisfied officers had acted appropriately. 'I can say that from that evidence I've looked at, from that body-worn video, but it is only one portion, I'm comfortable, but that is only one police officer,' he told reporters on Friday. SA Premier Peter Malinauskas also backed police.

‘Drab Meghan Markle doesn't entertain OR inform – so what's the point of her ‘lifestyle' show?' asks expert

MEGHAN Markle's new Netflix cooking show has been slammed by a royal expert for not 'being entertaining or informative.' Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, broadcaster Esther Krakue questioned the point of the eight-part With Love, Meghan, which saw the duchess hosting celeb pals such as Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer. 4 4 The Netflix series saw Meghan making guest baskets, beeswax candles, and a single skillet spaghetti, filmed at a farmhouse near her £12million Montecito mansion. Esther shared: 'There's nothing there. 'She's very, like - I'm not saying this to be horrible - she is not an entertainer or an entertaining person. 'There's not much personality there. 'I never learn anything from her. I love lifestyle shows. I watch them every day. I don't learn anything. I didn't learn anything from hers. And she's just not entertaining. 'She's not a fun person to be around. 'You don't think this is the person I want to go to the pub with to have a pint with. 'It's very clear that she is not box office in terms of entertainment quality.' Meghan is too vacuous. Why can't she promote women in a realistic way? Speaking of the content of the show, Esther said: 'That's not what I want to know.' She explained: 'I want to know, how did you bag a prince? 'What did you do? What were the techniques? Who's your waxing lady? I never learn anything from her. I love lifestyle shows. I watch them every day. I don't learn anything Esther Krakue 'I want to know the juicy stuff that should make her interesting, but she's so terrified to tell the public. 'It was clear from the first episode that this is, the way she sees herself and who she actually is are quite different. 'I don't look at Meghan as someone who I would get business advice from because I find her quite vacuous. "She doesn't have the energy of a host. I don't think. She's very kind of drab and boring." £78M Netflix deal The Netflix series has been renewed for a second and third series, following its debut on March 4, 2025, but Esther queried if the streaming giant has any regrets. After signing on the Sussexes in a deal reportedly worth £78million over five years, they have so far created their Harry & Meghan documentary, Invictus and Polo. 4 Esther said: 'I don't think they've got any value for money with this couple. 'It was obviously a business risk taking them on. 'I think two years into it, they realised they'd sunk money into the world's most boring couple that needed a lifetime supply of money to pay for their security. 'Harry actually said that, he said, 'I was offered this and I needed to pay for my family's security.' Despite any criticism, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is said to be in full support of the Duchess of Sussex. 4 A source told MailOnline: "What people do not understand about the situation is that [Netflix CEO] Ted Sarandos is a massive, massive fan of Meghan personally. 'He calls her 'the rock star'. 'There is no way that her deal does not get renewed. 'Ted is in the Meghan business and that is not about to change. He is all in." The second series of With Love, Meghan — with no Harry or their children Archie, six, and Lilibet, three — has already been filmed and is due to be screened in the autumn. THE Duchess of Sussex has kept busy since stepping down as a senior working royal in 2020 and relocating to California. Here are some of her business ventures... Archetypes Podcast – Former Spotify show on female stereotypes. Clevr Blends – Investment in a women-owned wellness latte brand. EXCLUSIVE What happened to Roxy's 'clones': They were gossip fodder for years... now PR insiders reveal some won't speak to her after bitter feuds - while others have overshadowed her completely

For someone whose fondness for headlines earned her the nickname 'The Publicity-Seeking Missile', it's unsurprising PR supremo Roxy Jacenko liked to choose staff who style and appearance perfectly matched her upmarket personal brand. During her years as Sydney's most in-demand lifestyle, fashion and beauty publicist, Roxy famously hired an army of 'clones' to work at her Paddington-based firm Sweaty Betty PR.
