Ely Buendia and The Methodists, Armi Millare, and more to perform at Fete de la Musique
The Fete de la Musique main stage is gearing up to be an exciting one!
It is one of the highly anticipated events of Fete, and is happening on June 21 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City.
Joining the lineup are Filipino icon Ely Buendia and The Methodists and acclaimed singer-songwriter Armi Millare.
Ely released his latest album 'Method Adaptor' in 2024. His set promises to be his signature rock sound with live experimental twists.
Armi is set to perform her classic songs with indie-pop and soulful melodies. Her solo songs include 'Whatever,' 'Say it Again' and 'Roots,' from her upcoming debut solo album, 'South Node.'
More main stage acts include James Reid, Brigada, Janine, Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas feat. Leanne & Naara, The Ridleys, and Tarsius x Ena Mori. They will be joined by international acts Ito Kashitaro from Japan and Emile Londonien from France.
The off-stage acts are by Filipino musicians Frank Ely and Zsaris, Bolivian Pop artist Bling Bling Papaya, and Singapore-based Pinoy queer artist Marian Carmel.
Fete will be holding its 31st edition this year and will follow the theme "Un Monde" or "One World." The organizers aim to go back to the root of celebrating World Music Day and to highlight music as a shared language. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News

Klea Pineda, Katrice Kierulf, and more queer couples shine on Preview's Pride Month issue
Queer couples took the main stage on the cover of Preview Magazine's annual Pride Month issue. Among the couples featured are Kapuso actress Klea Pineda and her girlfriend Katrice Kierulf. The cover story is titled 'All the Lovers: The Fight for Marriage Equality in the Philippines,' and features married and longtime couples. 'In a country where family is sacred and marriage is seen as its foundation, the absence of equal rights is not just a legal gap, it's a daily reality. Still, they show up. Still, they choose each other; and in that choosing, they challenge the system that says their love isn't enough,' Preview said on Instagram. 'The road is long, but the heart remains steady because love is love, and love deserves the law.' The other couples are: Ben&Ben's Pat Lasaten and Agnes Reoma; LGBTQ+ activist and news anchor Jervi Wrightson or KaladKaren and husband Luke Wrightson; content creator Deo Cabrera and boyfriend Richmond Tabangcura; Olympic athlete Hergie Bacyadan and content creator Lady Denily Digo; makeup artist Jigs Mayuga and husband Ben Ty; Rocketsets' Rocky Legaspi and Migo Alomajan; and artists Arts Serrano and Agu Crisostomo. More couples include: volleyball players Ella de Jesus and Jema Galanza; fashion designers Nicolo Perez and RJ Santos; athlete Bethany Talbot and tattoo artist Hyna; co-founder and designer Abraham Guardian and producer Gem Ausa; photographers Cenon and Mav; models Raejell Roxas and Catherine Bautista; trans couple Kylie Celebre and Jan Pablo; and content creators Saint Yves and Francheska Lhian. The couples talked about how they met, their marriages and partnerships, and the fight for same sex marriage and equal rights in the Philippines. 'There are those with a lot to risk and lose, people whose safety might be compromised, but for those who are fortunate enough to love loudly, our stories matter now more than ever,' the cover story said. 'They say that to be queer is in itself a defiant act, but in the lives we long to live and tell, ones that deserve to be heard and understood, the only 'luxury' we're really asking for is the ordinary pleasure of loving simply.' Pride Month, happening every June, serves to empower the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community by creating spaces where their identities are celebrated, stories are respected, and their rights are recognized. Pride March and other events also serve as a protest against the abuse and injustices the community faces. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News

CJ Opiaza, Krishnah Gravidez grateful for Filipinos' support after Miss Grand, Miss World achievements
CJ Opiaza and Krishnah Gravidez are overflowing with gratitude for the love and support they have been receiving from their fellow Filipinos. According to Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, CJ and Krishnah had back-to-back media conferences after returning from Thailand and India. "My heart is screaming for joy, and I'm just so blessed. I'm just so blessed and really, really grateful and happy that we have our first golden crown," CJ said. CJ was officially crowned as Miss Grand International 2024 last week in Bangkok, Thailand. She made history as the first Filipina beauty queen to receive the golden crown. "Hindi ko talaga in-expect na maraming Pinoy na makakarating although I know that there's a lot of Filipinos in Thailand. But also it was so sudden. I know people have prior commitments, prior schedules, but then everybody adjusted. The people just made sure that they'll be there. They messaged me, they want to be in that very historic moment," CJ said. Meanwhile, Krishnah said that she is super happy to be back home after being named Miss World Asia at the pageant held in India. "Of course, with this title, I hope that I made the whole country proud, but I was just really enjoying every moment in India. And to be back home here, seeing all the support and the love of the Filipinos just makes my heart melt," she said. Krishnah flew to India in early May for the pre-coronation night activities. "Even before I stepped into India, nag-reach out na talaga sila and they were expressing their support. And when I arrived there, ang daming Filipino community. Ando'n sila with the big banner, tarpaulin, they were very warm. So when I arrived there, I didn't feel like I was away from home," she said. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

Give dad the recognition he deserves with vivo this Father's Day
MANILA, PHILIPPINES - vivo, a leading global smartphone brand, is proud to announce a meaningful new initiative just in time for Father's Day. From June 13 to June 15, all participating vivo stores nationwide will host a consumer-centered celebration where they will describe their father. This campaign reflects vivo's core belief that beyond innovation and technology, the brand has a responsibility to bring people closer and spark real, emotional connections. With every purchase of a vivo smartphone during the campaign period, customers will receive a free, personalized Father's Day certificate and photo memento, thoughtfully designed and printed on-site, creating a moment of appreciation that goes far beyond the typical retail experience. 'Our goal is to connect with consumers emotionally, not just commercially,' said Ms. Lulu Liu, Brand Marketing Director of vivo Philippines. 'Father's Day is about honoring the heroes in our homes, and we want to make sure each dad feels seen, appreciated, and celebrated." An Immersive In-Store Experience Unlike conventional promotions, vivo's Father's Day campaign offers a heartfelt interaction for families. The process is simple but impactful: Customers can purchase any vivo smartphone from June 13 to 15 at participating stores. They receive a personalized certificate, which includes a space to write a special adjective (e.g., 'strongest,' 'wisest,' 'funniest') and their dad's name. A portrait photo is taken on-site, printed instantly, and affixed to the certificate. Families can then pose with their dads, holding the certificate in a dedicated photo corner inside the store. The experience concludes with a memorable keepsake that customers can take home — a physical reminder of the celebration. This initiative allows each participant to reflect on their father's qualities and express their gratitude in a tangible, creative way. Whether it's a biological father, grandfather, stepfather, or a father figure, every dad can be recognized in a personal, touching manner. As a bonus, customers who post their Father's Day moment on social media with hashtags #AwardMyDadwithvivo and #vivoDadinStyle, and tag @vivo_philippines, will receive exclusive giveaways. Give dad more than a gift this Father's Day vivo's Father's Day campaign is a testament to vivo's dedication to creating not only best-in-class smartphones but also memorable moments for Filipino families. By transforming a routine purchase into a moment of bonding and gratitude, vivo elevates the retail experience into something deeply personal. As Father's Day draws near, vivo encourages everyone to take part in this limited-time offer and show appreciation for the father figures who have shaped their world.
