Strawberry moon creates magic for helicopter, plane
A helicopter and a plane were recorded crossing simultaneously in front of a full moon.
The strawberry moon lit up the night sky this week, creating countless photo opportunities of the stunning night sky.
The world witnessed the peak of June's rare full moon in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 11. For lucky stargazers, the full moon gave off a red or orange tint.
Making the spectacle even more special: this month's full moon was the lowest full moon in nearly 20 years, according to EarthSky, making it appear closer to the horizon than normal.
Although the moon was full, it might have appeared 14% smaller and 30% dimmer, a phenomenon known as a micromoon. According to NASA, this occurs when the celestial body is at its farthest point from Earth.
Here are some top photos from this month's strawberry moon.
Why was it called the strawberry moon?
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the "strawberry moon" name derives from the Native American Algonquian tribes, who lived in the northwestern United States.
The Ojibwe, Dakota and Lakota tribes also used the name, which marked the wild strawberries in June.

A brawl erupted on a Carnival cruise. Now those involved are banned for life.
Several Carnival Cruise passengers have been banned for life after a brawl on a recent sailing. Video shared by TikTok user @hellokittyyx shows multiple guests involved in the fight, with security and crew trying to break it up. At least two chairs appear to have been thrown in the video dated June 7. A spokesperson confirmed the incident happened on the Carnival Sunrise and told USA TODAY, "Those involved will not sail on Carnival Cruise Line again." In April, 24 Carnival passengers were banned after getting into a fight while disembarking the Carnival Jubilee. Other Carnival guests have been banned for fights on other ships in recent years. Carnival has a "zero-tolerance" policy toward disruptive behavior. "The safety and security of our guests, team members, the destinations we visit and the waters in which we travel are embedded in our company's values and guides our operation," according to Carnival's website. "Cruise ships are a shared space, and all guests are expected to treat others with respect." Guests are reminded about these safety and security policies when they travel with Carnival. The flight, initially scheduled for under three hours, ultimately took over 32 hours and returned to Zurich without reaching Crete. A recent Condor flight, which was supposed to take less than three hours, turned into a 32-hour ordeal when poor weather forced multiple diversions, including an overnight stay, according to the Germany-based airline. Even after its extended journey, the flight never reached its final destination. Condor flight DE1234 departed from Zurich, Switzerland, at 6:35 a.m. on May 24 for Heraklion, Crete, in Greece with 137 passengers and six crew members onboard. Typically, the flight time for this route is approximately two and a half hours, but "extreme weather conditions with strong winds" that day restricted the number of take-offs and landings in Crete, Condor spokesperson Johanna Tillmann told USA TODAY in an email statement. "Despite several attempts to land in Heraklion, the flight was unfortunately unable to operate as planned and had to be diverted several times including a night stop in Thessaloniki before finally returning to Zurich," Tillmann continued. What to know: Apple Wallet soon to include passports, but it won't be valid for this type of travel The aircraft made several attempts to land in Crete, but was diverted to other Greek airports. According to FlightAware, the flight flew to Athens before going to the island of Kos, landing at 1:51 p.m. After that, it arrived in Thessaloniki at 5:05 p.m. for an overnight stay. The next day, the flight went to Athens then returned to Zurich at 2:46 p.m. for a total flight time of over 32 hours. The airline said passengers were updated about the flight path via email and text message and given hotel accommodation and grand transport in Thessaloniki. "The safety of all guests and crew members is Condor's top priority at all times, as in this case as well." Those who were on the flight are able to reach out to Condor customer service for refund and rebooking options.

Aventura Mall voted "Best Mall in America," USA TODAY poll
The people have spoken and America's best mall is right here in South Florida. Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise? Nope. The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale? Not quite. It's the Aventura Mall, which has been voted the Best Mall in America in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. The publication points out that Aventura Mall, the largest mall in Florida, has more than 300 retail shops, experiences, and dining options. It also boasts a "museum-worthy art collection and regularly hosts community events such as story time, weekly yoga, and a farmers market." The mall is so popular, Brightline has added a station nearby. "We take great pride in Aventura Mall's continued position as the best mall for iconic brands and first-to-market experiences, helping define South Florida's place on the national and international stage," Jackie Soffer, chairman and CEO of Turnberry, owner of Aventura Mall, said. "Strategically located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Aventura Mall draws a diverse, global audience ranging from international tourists to Gen Z and Millennial locals and tourists," according to USA Today. Nominees were selected by a panel of experts and then ranked based on votes from the public, according to USA Today. Aventura Mall was one of only 20 malls selected nationwide, and the only South Florida mall to be nominated. So who rounded out the top 5? Let's take a look. Coming in at number two was the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. It noted that with 500-plus stores and dozens of restaurants, visitors can find just about everything at this mall. "As the largest mall in the U.S., the Mall of America is not only a shopping and entertainment complex, but one of the top tourist destinations in the country. Every year, 32 million people visit this mall's stores, restaurants, attractions, and hotels. At the center of the mall is Nickelodeon Universe, the largest indoor theme park in America," according to USA TODAY. A mall in the Lone Star state came in at number 3 - Galleria Dallas. Along with a variety of retail stores and more than 30 casual and sit-down restaurants, it also boasts its own indoor ice rink. "The large indoor ice rink is at the center of this three-story mall, and while it stays open year-round, it's especially festive during the holiday season," according to USA TODAY. An urban oasis in the heart of Manhattan, New York landed in the number four position. The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards "occupies a million square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space, and features a unique indoor-outdoor setup that makes the most of its Hudson River views." Rounding out the top 5 is the King of Prussia Mall inn Prussia, Pennsylvania. It features 450 retail locations and dining options range that from pizza joints and dim sum to steakhouses. "This mall offers a diverse range of national brands and specialty stores, and those seeking luxury goods can shop at a vast number of luxury retailers like Gucci, Cartier, Dior, and Balenciaga," USA TODAY said. Rounding out the remaining five are the Scottsdale Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Arizona; American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey; Grapevine Mills in Grapevine, Texas; Tysons Corner Center in Tysons, Virginia and Brookfield Place in New York City.
