The five-year-old landed the Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes on the Knavesmire last August and now seeks her first victory at group level, returning to further after finishing an honourable second to John and Thady Gosden's Shaha at Goodwood on reappearance.
'It has been the plan to run in this race all year and we decided to give her a run at Goodwood where she was second behind an unexposed horse who runs in the Group race at Haydock on Saturday,' said Walker.
'I think she will improve for that run and is in good nick, but whether she truly stays would be the only kind of concern. She ran well at Doncaster in the Park Hill over that trip on bad ground and on better ground on Saturday, I hope she can run a big race.'
It is the Gosden team who are out to thwart Scenic once again, with the Clarehaven operation double handed in the Group Three contest.
The George Strawbridge-owned Sueno was fourth behind both stablemate Shaha and Scenic at Goodwood, but is backed to thrive over the extra distance on the Knavesmire.
'She travelled well at Goodwood and shaped like this trip would suit her well, so we thought the Bronte Cup would be the right spot for her for her next race,' said Thady Gosden.
'She's been in good order since Goodwood and we'll learn a lot from the race.'
The Gosdens also saddle Anthony Oppenheimer's Jane Temple, who has shown good ability in three starts and obliged favourite backers with ease when reappearing at Kempton earlier this month.
Gosden added: 'Jane Temple is still lightly raced but she won carrying plenty of weight last time at Kempton and won very well and it looks the right time and right spot to try her at a higher level.'
Defending champion Term Of Endearment has switched to William Haggas since last year's triumph and makes just her second start for the Somerville Lodge handler, while Andrew Balding's Divina Grace will not lack for match practice after banking two starts and a win already this term.
Ralph Beckett's Allonsy, fifth in the aforementioned Goodwood race, and Tom Ward's recent Southwell handicap winner Crystal Flyer complete the select line-up for Saturday's feature event in Yorkshire.

Setback puts Friendly Soul plans on hold

Friendly Soul's return to the track will be further delayed as a setback will keep the Group One winner on the sidelines until later in the season. The daughter of Kingman was a shining light for John and Thady Gosden last season, winning four of her five starts and claiming top honours in the Prix de l'Opera at ParisLongchamp in October. Both the Lockinge and Brigadier Gerard had been earmarked for the high-class four-year-old's reappearance, while she held entries for both the Queen Anne and Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot. However, Friendly Soul was removed from both contests at the most recent entry stage, with no set timescale for her comeback. 'She's just had a setback and hopefully we will see her later on in the season,' explained Thady Gosden. 'We'll have to wait and see and she is obviously an extremely high-class filly, so she will be given all the time she needs. 'Sadly her mother, In Clover, who was one of the greatest broodmares of recent times, passed away recently. 'She's a very exciting for Mr (George) Strawbridge and a home-bred filly of course and hopefully she will be back later in the year.'

Scenic outlook to Bronte Cup sets up Group One assignments

The Ed Walker-trained five-year-old won the Listed Galtres Stakes at the Ebor meeting last season and started this term on a good note when second at Goodwood at the same level. Stepping up to a mile and six furlongs on her return to York in Group Three company, the bay held off all challengers, including the 6-5 favourite Term Of Endearment, to prevail by a head at 7-2 under Saffie Osborne. 'She's just a really lovely, game horse and it's a big result. We've always had this race in mind and then we just snuck in the race at Goodwood first, the ground was right and we thought it might bring her forward. 'We couldn't get on grass much this spring, so there's improvement in her still.' On future plans, Walker said: 'We'll probably come back for the Yorkshire Oaks, she's loves it here and we've absolutely nothing to lose. 'We'll have a crack and then the Prix de Royallieu at the end of the year will be the big shot for her.'
