'The Voice' alum Ryan Whyte Maloney dies at 44
Ryan Whyte Maloney, a contestant from Season 6 of "The Voice" who turned all four judges' chairs, has died at 44.
Maloney was pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner told USA TODAY. His death was determined to be a suicide.
USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Maloney, as well as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, for more information.
People was first to report the news.
Maloney, who was among the singers who performed at the Ole Red Las Vegas opening last year, was scheduled to perform upcoming shows at the Blake Shelton-owned venue. His next performance, part of what he described on his website as an "ongoing residency," was slated for Friday night.
On his website, Maloney described his music style as "mixing Alt/Country/Classic/Rock/R&B and hip hop" and wrote that he'd started playing instruments at 9 years old. He recorded his first album, "Tomorrow's Another Day," in 2005, followed by a 12-song album called "Where I've Been." In the years before he appeared on "The Voice," he "performed in every small club and honky-tonk bar in addition to performing for national festivals for over 250,000 people" as he promoted his album.
When he performed Journey's "Lights" during his audition on "The Voice," he received a four-chair turn from Shakira, Usher, Shelton and Adam Levine. After making it through the Battle Rounds, he was taken out of the competition as one of Shelton's finalists.
Per his website, Maloney said he "looks bright into the future and moves to continued success as a stapled figure in the Las Vegas music scene, performing at corporate events and in showrooms."
"Ryan dreams big and pushes on towards the lights of the stage with a charismatic motto, 'Only Those Who See The Invisible, Accomplish The Impossible,'" his bio reads.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won his first NFL MVP award in February. A few months later, he is celebrating another major life milestone. Allen and his fiancée, actress Hailee Steinfeld, were married Saturday in California. Images from their wedding were shared by and circulated on social media. Steinfeld – known for her starring roles in "True Grit," for which she received an Academy Award nomination,"The Edge of Seventeen" and two "Pitch Perfect" sequels – began dating Allen in 2023. They were spotted together several times before making their first public appearance together in a suite at a Buffalo Sabres game. The two attended several major events together, including Paris Fashion Week in March 2024, before making their relationship public after a year of speculation. The couple became engaged in November 2024, as Allen announced in an Instagram post. Steinfeld called it the most "magical" day of her life while Allen relished the opportunity to surprise her with the proposal. "I said I couldn't wait any longer. I said I can't wait to start a family with you. I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please," Allen said of popping the question in an interview with Steinfeld for her Beau Society newsletter. "You were extremely surprised, you said yes, and that was all that mattered to me. And the sun was out." It wasn't initially known when Allen and Steinfeld would be married. However, Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins appeared to hint at it when asked if he had any weddings upcoming during a March appearance on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football." "Soon to come, May 31, it's happening," Dawkins said. Indeed, it did. Randy White, husband of country music star Lorrie Morgan, dies at 72 after cancer battle
Randy White, husband of country music star Lorrie Morgan, dies at 72 after cancer battle Randy White, husband of country singer Lorrie Morgan, has died following a battle with mouth cancer. He was reportedly 72. Morgan, best known for her hits "Five Minutes," "What Part of No," and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength," announced White's death on June 1 in an emotional post shared on her social media pages. The singer, who was previously married to late country singer Keith Whitley, did not share the date of White's death. "Randy has been my partner, my champion and my rock for 17 years," Morgan wrote alongside a photo of the couple. "Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever." USA TODAY has reached out to Morgan's representative for comment. White's death comes nearly two months after Morgan, 65, was forced to cancel a pair of performances due to White's ongoing treatment for mouth cancer. Morgan's manager confirmed to The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network, in April that the Grand Ole Opry star's spouse was recently readmitted to a Tennessee hospital amid the health ordeal. Mouth cancer, also known as oral cancer, occurs when a growth of cells develops in the mouth, according to Mayo Clinic. The cancer can affect various parts of the mouth, including the lips, gums, tongue, inner lining of the cheeks, and the roof and floor of the mouth. Morgan's son, fellow singer Jesse Keith Whitley, shared his reaction to White's death in a heartfelt Facebook post. The tribute included a sweet collage of throwback photos of White over the years. "As I sit here in the room with hospice, I don't know really what to think or to say about this situation," Whitley wrote. "But I can say that the recent years of my life, all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old, this great man has been here and loved my mom and also me (and) my sister as we were his own." Reflecting on White's impact on Morgan and her family, Whitley said White "has shown unconditional love to my mother and been the most gentle soul to ever grace this entire family." "As we say our goodbyes, I reminisce of all the good times we have had (and) the battles he has helped overcome," Whitley wrote. "I can't tell you the amount of love that has poured in from fans, family and friends. We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan!" Contributing: Audrey Gibbs, The Tennessean

Chris Hughes shares cozy bedside selfie with JoJo Siwa amid rumored romance Show Caption Hide Caption JoJo Siwa realizes she's not a lesbian after cozying up to Chris Hughes JoJo Siwa just got real on Celebrity Big Brother UK, revealing she identifies as queer and may relate more to being non-binary. All Time Entertainment Relationship status aside, JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are tighter than two peas in a pod. The pop singer and British TV personality, whose close relationship on "Celebrity Big Brother" has fueled media speculation of a romance, gave fans another window into their growing bond on June 1 in an intimate photo shared on Hughes' Snapchat story. The photo shows a shirtless Hughes, 32, lying in bed as a seemingly asleep Siwa, 22, nuzzles against his chest. Hughes can also be seen cradling Siwa's head and planting a kiss on her forehead. "Sleeepinnn beauty," the post reads. The affectionate selfie comes nearly two weeks after Siwa and Hughes drew buzz after sharing a series of tender photos of themselves spending time together after their controversial stint on the reality game show. 'Absolutely beautiful': JoJo Siwa, Chris Hughes post intimate photos together Reflecting on her birthday week, Siwa shared a set of photos on Instagram May 21 that included intimate shots with Hughes. The previous day, Hughes gave a similar shoutout to Siwa in his own photo carousel, writing, "The previous 7 days have been the prettiest." Siwa's rumored romance with Hughes comes after the singer's ex Kath Ebbs criticized their breakup and accused the former child star of "emotional cheating" amid Siwa and Hughes' closeness in the "Big Brother" house. Ebbs said in a viral video in April that "everything we saw unfold on what I thought was a fake reality show, where I didn't need to worry about the validity of my relationship, was, in fact, laced in a lot of truth." JoJo Siwa addresses Kath Ebbs breakup, Chris Hughes relationship During a "This Morning" interview days after Ebbs' video, Siwa said the isolation of being on "Celebrity Big Brother" inspired her to take stock of issues in her life, including her romance with Ebbs. "I really realized things that I was OK with in my life that I should never have been OK with in the first place," she said. Siwa, who opened up about her evolving outlook on her sexuality on the British reality show, welcomed Pride Month in a heartfelt statement on her June 1 Instagram story. "Everyone's story is different, and everyone's journey is different. The most beautiful thing about love is that it's just love," she wrote. Contributing: Taijuan Moorman and Brendan Morrow, USA TODAY
