Wasco man dies in high-speed crash near Lemoore: CHP
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Wasco man died and a passenger was severely injured in a crash caused by high speed near the city of Lemoore on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.
On April 20 at around 11:25 p.m., an officer with the CHP Hanford Area office was on routine patrol when he saw a solo crash on Houston Avenue over Highway 198, according to officials.
According to CHP, a 20-year-old man of Wasco was driving a 2022 BMW M340i westbound on Houston Avenue at a high speed. The driver was unable to safely drive through the righthand curve in the road due to the speed.
Pedestrian killed in Tuesday night crash on White Lane
The vehicle left the road and struck a concrete barrier on the overcrossing, CHP said. The driver died at the scene.
The 23-year-old male passenger in the car suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital via helicopter.
CHP said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Pedestrian hit and killed in Santa Rosa area
(KRON) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car outside the city limits of Santa Rosa Saturday night. The crash occurred around 11:34 p.m. on Piner Road, east of Willowside Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. 'Initial investigation indicates a BMW was driving east on Piner Road when the pedestrian was observed walking south across the roadway, directly in the path of the BMW,' CHP said.
