The list compiled through Law.com's analyst team VerdictSearch ranks the nation's largest verdicts for 2024.
The firm earned its spot following a Dallas County jury trial against Irving-based Walker Engineering for the death of one of its workers. The jury awarded $71.95 million to the widow and four children of Hernan Murrilo, 40, who died after falling 30 feet from a scissor lift in 2019.
'Hernan's family has endured an unimaginable loss, and while no verdict can bring him back, this case was always about holding the right people accountable and delivering justice,' said firm founder Charla Aldous. 'We were proud to stand with his family in the courtroom, and we're deeply honored that ALM recognized the significance of this verdict by including it among the nation's top 100.'
Through compelling evidence, including video captured inside the facility, the firm successfully demonstrated Irving-based Walker Engineering's liability to the jury.
The Top 100 Verdicts are ranked by gross award calculated by the jury. ALM describes this list as what it believes is the most comprehensive list of top jury awards across the nation.
