British rapper branded 'pathetic' after pulling out of gig with minutes to go

Fans of Professor Green were gutted after the rapper proved to be a no-show at Chester 7's concert this weekend. On Saturday, the British chart-topper, who rose to fame in the early 2010s, was due to take to the stage at Winnington Rugby Club, Northwich, Cheshire, as the headline act. The crowd eagerly awaited his arrival ahead of his 9pm slot but was disappointed to be informed of a last-minute switch-up. With just minutes to go, the organiser received a message while standing outside waiting for him – right on 9 o'clock – that he was unwell and unable to perform. The 41-year-old Read All About It hitmaker's absence was later explained by Chester 7 in a social media statement. At 10pm, they wrote: 'Due to unforeseen circumstances, Professor Green is unable to perform at Chester 7s tonight. 'Whilst circumstances such as these are outside of our control, we apologise to all our amazing players. 'Officials and guests, and thank you for making Chester 7s 2025 an amazing experience for everyone.' Fortunately, the night wasn't short on good vibes, as English former rugby union player James Haskell did turn up to deliver a two-hour DJ slot beforehand. The 40-year-old athlete and I'm A Celeb star plays house music and produces his own tunes, having taken his sets all over the world to the likes of London, Dubai, and Ibiza. As for Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, he is yet to comment publicly on pulling out of the gig with just moments to spare. However, it left a sour taste in the mouths of many, who admitted they felt let down. Taking to the comments section of his most recent post one day ago, @nicola.b_86 wrote: 'What happened last night?!? You were booked to headline a festival and then just didn't show up? Organisers said at the end of the night you hadn't communicated this to them and just did a no show?' 'Why did you not come to Chester7s?', @tors56 demanded to know. Also making their feeling crystal clear, @kayleigh_x87 commented underneath the announcement: '@professorgreen you massive let down!! 👎 not impressed 😤' Pro Green's cancelled gig comes just a day after he performed at Glastonbury Festival. The Just Be Good to Green musician was brought out as a surprise guest by Native James during his set on the BBC Introducing stage. Following some of his own hits, he introduced Green for a cameo, the UK hip hop veteran popping up for the duo's recent collab, Block. In fact, it is Green's Worthy Farm appearance that made fans suspicious, as @bexwidd commented on Insta after his absence from Chester 7 was confirmed: 'He stayed at Glastonbury! Very poor @professorgreen'. Agreeing, @splash_vw blasted him as 'pathetic', praising Haskell for still showing up despite the recent death of his father. The Glasto set still went down a treat regardless, as fans were keen to comment on how 'iconic' the moment was. More Trending 'I am so glad I was there to witness this', @vpulverise wrote on Instagram. Green himself commented: 'gassssssssssed ain't the word everyone go stream BLOCK NOWWWWWW … full circle moment – thank you @bbcintroducing and thank you @nativejamesuk@ and gang 🔥' No stranger to Glasto, having performed there several times before, Green hinted that he'll be returning in 2027 after the festival's fallow year. Secret set ‘chaos' at Glastonbury as band hit with sound issues

GLASTONBURY was hit with more 'chaos' as a band's secret set was hit with sound issues. Fans were previously left more than underwhelmed by Worthy Farm's opening ceremony after a similar technical blunder. 6 6 6 Last night, one of the main Glastonbury BBC channels stopped working on TV as viewers on iPlayer were forced to switch to individual stage feeds. Now it seems that Haim's surprise set on The Park stage faced more sound issues. The trio - made up of sisters Este, Danielle and Alana - made a highly anticipated return to Somerset on Saturday night. After performing on the Pyramid Stage in 2022, they returned to their stomping ground to perform to an eager crowd. However, during their live set, fans were heard to have shouted 'louder, louder'. The Mail Online has reported that other music nearby was drowning out the performance of Los Angeles-based siblings Haim had previously dropped several hints to fans that they would be performing at Worthy Farm in the weeks running up to Glastonbury. But despite the sound issues, the American rock band kept going with their performance. Their show was very well received by fans who took to social media in droves to praise the band, and declare that they should have been a headline act. Writing on X - formerly known as Twitter -one fan gushed: "Haim were and are exceptional." American group 'confirm' secret Glastonbury set as they tease fans with big clue A second agreed: "HAIM's (not so) secret set at #Glastonbury was outstanding. Catch it on iPlayer if you missed it, it's so worth it." "The irony that the best TBAs Lewis Capaldi, Pulp & Haim all brilliant and could easily have headlined," noted a third user. While someone else wrote: "Haim back where they belong, Glasto." And a fifth added: "Only a matter of time before HAIM headline Glastonbury. Should have been this year. Such a fun band." Glastonbury 2025 - confirmed acts so far TICKETS to the 2025 festival sold out in just minutes before some of the acts were even confirmed. Here is who has been confirmed so far. In a conversation with radio star Jo Whiley, Alana admitted: "We love The Park Stage. The Park Stage is our favourite. "[Be]cause that was like the first time we came to Glastonbury, we got to play The Park Stage. It felt like a movie." She continued: "It was like, 'What is going on? How did we get here?' And also just like… you never forget the first time you step onto the farm. "And it's the most insane feeling, I think, that you'll ever have. But it was incredible, it's the best festival in the world." 6 6 6

Professor Green mysteriously pulls out of headline gig with just an HOUR's notice

Professor Green pulled out of a headline performance at the last minute on Saturday night, leaving fans at a Cheshire festival stunned and disappointed. The rapper, real name Stephen Manderson, was due to take the stage at the Chester 7s Party at the Park in Northwich, but pulled the plug just an hour before he was set to perform. Organisers were reportedly informed that the Read All About It star wouldn't be attending due to illness, as they waited for him to arrive at the venue. Posting a last-minute announcement on social media, Chester 7s said: 'Due to unforeseen circumstances Professor Green is unable to perform at Chester 7s tonight. 'Whilst circumstances such as these are outside of our control, we apologise to all our amazing players, officials and guests and thank you for making Chester 7s 2025 an amazing experience for everyone.' The sudden cancellation sparked confusion among festivalgoers, with many expressing frustration online after looking forward to the headlining set. MailOnline has reached out to Professor Green's representatives for comment. Professor Green has remained silent on the no-show, with no updates posted to his social media accounts. Just two days before however, he made a special guest appearance with alternative rap artist Native James during Thursday's Glastonbury festival. Fans took to social media to vent their frustration writing: 'Disappointing @professorgreen didn't show up to Chester 7s event last night with 10 minutes notice. Do better when people paid alot of money for this event! You let alot of people down!' '@professorgreen you massive let down!! not impressed' Former rugby star turned DJ, James Haskell stepped in to save the day at Chester 7s, entertaining the crowd with a two-hour DJ set after the news broke. Chester 7s is one of the UK's top sports and music festivals, attracting thousands each year with its mix of live entertainment and rugby action. Professor Green, known for chart-toppers like I Need You Tonight and Just Be Good to Green, had been billed as the main act for the evening. Fans took to social media to vent their frustration calling him 'disappointing' and 'a let down' Pro Green has made no secret of his health battles. Earlier this year he revealed he was born with Pyloric Stenosis. The condition affects babies between birth and six months of age when the passage between the stomach and small bowel becomes narrower. It very rarely occurs in adults and may develop due to an attributable cause. The musician revealed that his recurring dysbiosis - unbalanced bacteria that irritates the stomach - had worsened the condition. Just two months he revealed he caught roseola from his baby boy Slimane - after managing to avoid the virus throughout his own childhood. Sharing a snap of himself in bed recovering from the common viral infection, he told his followers: 'The one adult who didn't get Roseola as a kid obviously had to have a son who did and now...' Roseola - also known as exanthem subitum or sixth disease - is a common viral infection that primarily affects young children. Symptoms typically include a sudden high fever, followed by a rash as the fever subsides. Though uncomfortable, the illness is usually mild and resolves within a week. In March 2021, the rapper welcomed his first child with girlfriend Karima McAdams. Announcing the news on Instagram, he shared that his partner, 40, had given birth to their son, Slimane Ray Manderson, two weeks early. In a lengthy caption alongside the shot of his newborn son's head, he also detailed their difficult pregnancy, which he branded 'a rollercoaster' and confessed during 'scare after scare' they feared their baby 'would not make it'. Following his post, he was swiftly congratulated by his 865,000 Instagram followers, with many of his celebrity pals sending well-wishes.
