Timothy West died ‘peacefully' at care home after three-month hospital stay
West, who was married to actress Prunella Scales for more than 60 years, starred in TV shows such as comedy drama Brass, sitcom Not Going Out and soaps Coronation Street and EastEnders.
His family announced last November that he had died aged 90 with his friends and family around him, some of whom attended a hearing into his death at Westminster Coroner's Court on Thursday by videolink.

Assistant coroner Ellie Oakley said: 'Timothy West had an unwitnessed fall near his home on 11 August 2024 which resulted in a significant traumatic brain injury.
'It is not possible to determine how the fall happened and there is no evidence of others being involved.
'He was treated in hospital for around three months before being discharged to a care home on 5 November 2024 for palliative care.
'Unfortunately he was not well enough to be discharged to his home despite receiving appropriate care in the care home.
'He died on 12 November 2024.'
West had been living at Wandsworth Common Care Home in the days leading up to his death.
All of us will miss him terribly Timothy West's children
The home's general manager, Thomas Holden, said in a statement read out at Thursday's inquest: 'On 12 November his family were with him all day.
'They continued to stay with him in his room during the evening and he passed away peacefully with his family around him at 19:20.'
In a statement announcing his death last year, West's children Juliet, Samuel and Joseph said: 'After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our darling father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. He was 90 years old.
'Tim was with friends and family at the end.
'He leaves his wife, Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. All of us will miss him terribly.'
West and Scales, 92, who played Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, appeared in the documentary series Great Canal Journeys between 2014 and 2021, which saw them travelling on narrowboats.

The couple married in 1963 and had two sons, Samuel and Joseph.
West was also married to actor Jacqueline Boyer from 1956 to 1961, and they had a daughter, Juliet.
In Brass the Bradford-born actor played ruthless self-made businessman Bradley Hardacre from 1982 to 1984 before returning for a third series in 1990, while in Not Going Out he played Geoffrey, the father of Lucy Adams, played by Sally Bretton.
He appeared as Eric Babbage in seven episodes of Coronation Street in 2013, and in EastEnders he played Stan Carter from 2014 to 2015.
His film roles included Commissioner Berthier in The Day Of The Jackal (1973), King Francis in From Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998), and Nazi physician and war criminal Karl Gebhardt in Hitler: The Last Ten Days (1973).
On stage, he was a regular performer of Shakespeare, playing Lear in 2016 and 2002.
In 1984, West was appointed a CBE for his services to drama in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Before acting, West attended the John Lyon School and Bristol Grammar School, and worked as an office furniture salesman and a recording technician before becoming an assistant stage manager at Wimbledon Theatre in 1956.

Telling her not to cancel them, he said they could track where she was with it and find her to bring her home for a reunion with her mum Kat. EastEnders new boss, Executive Producer Ben Wadey added: 'Before I even stepped into the role, Zoe Slater was on my wish-list of returnees as, although we haven't seen her on screen for twenty years, her character has transcended time due to her popular storylines.' Speaking on her return to the BBC soap, Michelle said: 'It feels like coming home. 'After doing my first few scenes, it was like I'd never been away. 'It all happened at the right time. EastEnders drops huge clue that Zoe Slater has a secret child before shock exit 'I'd already been thinking about a return because I'd met up with Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) and we were reminiscing our fond memories of the show, and I'd also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character. 'It just so happened that at the same time, EastEnders had announced a new Exec who was keen to explore the potential of a return as he was such a massive fan of Zoe and the Slaters, so both of our worlds aligned at the right time, and I'm so excited to be back. 'When I was pitched the storylines, and when I read the scripts, I knew it was the right decision.'

EastEnders to air double bills as soap faces another major schedule shake-up
EastEnders fans have dealt with a number of schedule changes over the past few weeks - and things are about to change once again - with fans set for double bills of the BBC soap It's been a dramatic few weeks in EastEnders with shock returns, a new executive producer, and huge schedule changes. However, it looks like things aren't set to calm down anytime soon. Last week, for Kat and Alfie's wedding, the soap moved it's scheduling from Tuesday - Friday due to the football. This Monday, fans were unable to sit down and watch EastEnders with their morning cuppa. The soap delayed it's usual 6am iPlayer release for Ben Wadey's first episode - in which Zoe Slater made her shock return. Fans will be happy to know that the soap will resume to it's normal Monday - Thursday schedule next week, with episodes dropping at 6am on iPlayer. However, the week after that will see a huge schedule shakeup due to Wimbledon coverage. For the first time in a while, the soap will air a double bill on Monday June 30 and Tuesday July 1, meaning fans will get their two hour fix of EastEnders over two days. On Monday June 30, the BBC soap will begin at the earlier time of 7pm, airing back to back episodes. The second episode of the day will air straight after, meaning things will wrap up at 8pm. It will be the exact same schedule on Tuesday (July 1) with the soap airing a double bill from 7pm - 8pm. That's not the only major change though, as the soap will be airing on BBC Two for those two days as BBC One will be airing coverage from the first two days of Wimbledon. The soap will be off air on Wednesday and Thursday - with the next episodes airing the following week. Spoilers have revealed a huge week before the double bills, with the Kat and Alfie drama continuing. Kat continues to worry about how things are between them and she soon confides in someone about their lack of communication. Elsewhere, she soon makes an alarming discovery about her ex Phil Mitchell. Phil's worried about Nigel deteriorating amid his dementia diagnosis, and some of his actions next week leave Phil struggling. He then ends up injured when he and Nigel grapple over a pan of boiling water, as Kat suggests he gets some extra support to care for Nigel. She's not the only one, as ex-Denise also tells him he needs to look after himself. Phil isn't the only one sparking concern however, as Elaine Peacock is also sparking concern as she struggles after her split from George Knight.
