West Coast Eagles star Harley Reid set to face scrutiny for stray elbow to Carlton Blues' Lachie Fogarty
West Coast star Harley Reid could face scrutiny from the Match Review Officer for an incident with Carlton's Lachie Fogarty during the second quarter of their clash at Optus Stadium.
Reid threw his left arm back after being run down in a tackle and it made contact with the Blue's face. Fogarty was far from impressed and instantly remonstrated with the Eagle.
Reid will be hoping to avoid any penalty given West Coast have a bye next week which would mean a potential suspension would keep him out of action until round 17.

It would also prevent him from playing in front of friends and family against Collingwood in Victoria.
Reid has had another frustrating day with the midfielder conceding four free kicks in the first half. That has lifted his season tally to 40 free kicks for the season.

Collingwood ‘very, very confident' of landing Gold Coast forward Ben King in 2026
Collingwood are 'very confident' of landing the prized signature of Gold Coast forward Ben King, according to 7NEWS reporter Ryan Daniels. King looming as one of the hottest free agents at the end of next year with clubs already making moves to secure the key forward. The 24-year-old signed a two-year extension ahead of last season, which takes him through until the end of next year when he qualifies as a free agent. King has kicked 33 goals from 12 games this season to be sitting fourth in the Coleman Medal race behind leader Jeremy Cameron (44), although he has played two less games than the superstar Cat. He has previously been linked to a move to St Kilda where his brother Max plays, but the Pies are believed to leading the race. Collingwood, the current premiership favourites, have an ageing forward line with key talls Brody Mihocek (32), Tim Membrey (30) and Dan McStay (turning 30 next week) all in the latter stages of their careers, as well as Jamie Elliott (32). 'We've heard a lot about the interest in Ben King for years here in the Victorian clubs but I have it on good authority that Collingwood are very, very confident that this time next year that Ben King will be a Magpie, or very close to it,' Daniels said on Triple M this weekend. 'He's out of contract next year, that's when they're going to go super, super hard at him. They want him to be the next piece of the puzzle. I think they are super, super confident. 'Things can drift as we know, things can change. We thought Kozzy Pickett was going to be a Docker. But I know within the Pies, they are feeling pretty good about themselves in the Ben King space. 'If Matt Rowell stays at the Suns, it changes things a little bit for them, but Ben King is a separate entity. They're separate things. So I would be more confident in Ben King getting there by a little later than this time next year.' Collingwood will have a number of tough calls to make with their veterans in the next few years. Scott Pendlebury is reportedly in talks to continue his career into a remarkable 21st season, but the future is cloudy for a number of his teammates. Steele Sidebottom, Jeremy Howe, Elliott, Mihocek, WIll Hoskin-Elliott, Tom Mitchell and Mason Cox are all out of contract at the end of this season.

Star Blue could need surgery
Carlton coach Michael Voss says star forward Harry McKay could need surgery on his injured knee and more time on the sidelines after he failed to respond to treatment as well as the club had hoped. After taking down West Coast without McKay, who has only played seven games this season, Voss said the club would need to make a call this week on whether to send him to surgery. His absence might be felt even more by the Blues from this week, with key forward partner-in-crime, Charlie Curnow injuring his calf in Perth on Sunday. 'I'm not sure.'We have to explore that,' Voss said of McKay. 'It'd be too early for me to say other than to say that we need to investigate it further and obviously seeing a specialist is one of those steps that we'll take. 'And then we'll make some decisions off the back of that, probably sometime during the week. 'Obviously we had to look at it a couple of weeks ago, and the advice was to wait and see how it responded. Harry McKay could need surgery. Michael Klein Credit: News Corp Australia 'It seemed like it was hopeful, that we were hopeful that it turned a corner, but it hasn't. 'So, we'll have to just do a little bit more further investigation and make a call from there.' McKay has played only seven of 13 games this season and kicked only nine goals. He's been sidelined with a knee injury since round 11 loss to Greater Western Sydney. The tall forward has been durable over the past four seasons, playing at least 19 games in each season since the start of 2021. The extent of Curnow's injury is not known, with the dual Coleman medallist declaring after the 34-point win over West Coast that he expected to fit to play against North Melbourne next weekend. 'It's fine. I've never really had a soft tissue before,' he told Fox Footy. 'I had a bit of awareness ... so we'll see how we go. It looks like it's going to be pretty fine ... so I look forward to getting out against North Melbourne next week. 'You've just got to be really careful with those things.'
