Daughter makes terrifying discovery when she goes to visit mother at the hospital

A Pittsburgh daughter was left horrified when she discovered the woman in her mother's hospital bed was in fact a stranger. Gloria Corrado was scheduled to be transferred to University of Pittsburgh's Medical Center (UPMC) Mercy Rehab from UPMC Presbyterian on Friday. When her daughter Rae Corrado arrived to see her, she was directed to a room where she was told her mom was. 'At the nurse's station, they told me, "Your mother's here,"' Corrado told Action News 4. Corrado was then shocked to find a mystery woman wearing a wristband with her mom's name on it. 'I ran back and I said, "That's not my mom,"' she explained. But the staff were insistent that the patient was in fact Corrado's mother, because of the name on her wristband. 'I said, "I don't care what you did, it's not my mom,"' she continued. Corrado told the outlet that the woman wearing the wristband was potentially suffering from dementia, and was confused by the situation. Corrado, also stressed, was left in a state of panic looking for her mother. She contacted hospital staff at UPMC Presbyterian after praying in the chapel and was told Gloria was still awaiting her transfer at 7pm. Gloria didn't arrive to the hospital for another four hours. 'They wheel my mother in, and she says, "I've been looking for you, were you lost?" And I'm like, "No mom, you were lost. I've been looking for you,"' Corrado said. Gloria then told the harrowing recollection of waiting for her transfer to the outlet. 'I was velcroed to a stretcher. I couldn't move. I could hardly move my feet, let alone my body, for hours. And I kept thinking, "This can't be legal,"' she said through tears. 'I don't know how you lose a patient for hours,' Gloria added, recalling she was told that there had been multiple accidents accounting for the confusion and wait time. Now, Corrado is worried about the mystery woman who had been given her mother's name and in her hospital bed. 'I'm done with UPMC,' Gloria said.

British tourist killed in jet ski accident in Albania

A British tourist has died and another is in critical condition following a jet ski accident in Albania. The 34-year-old man lost his life after coming off a jet ski near the Kavaja Rock area in Durrës on Sunday morning (1 June). The two British citizens reportedly lost control of the jet ski and fell into the sea. Emergency services responded to the incident at Durrës Port, where the man was declared dead. An unidentified 31-year-old British woman was also 'transported to hospital in serious condition' following the incident, said border police. Durrës police told Albania news outlet CNA: 'At around 11:15, on 01.06.2025, the Port Durrës Border Police services were notified that, in the area opposite the Kavaja Rock, two citizens who were sailing on a jet ski, are suspected of having lost control of the vessel during manoeuvres and fallen into the water.' 'Border Police Services, after receiving the notification, immediately went by watercraft to assist the two citizens who had fallen into the water, transporting them to the port, with the aim of transporting them to the hospital.' According to A2 CNN, Durrës police have since arrested the jet ski provider for operating without full documentation and life jackets for customers. The Foreign Office said that it had not been approached for assistance in this case.
