
Portugal One Step Closer to Relaunching Sale of State-Owned TAP
Portugal is moving closer to relaunching the sale of state-owned airline TAP SA after a prior attempt was derailed in 2023.
The government has received two independent reports on the estimated valuation of TAP, a key step before it can move ahead with the privatization of the carrier. Lender Banco Finantia submitted its report last week, according to two people familiar with the process, as did accounting firm Ernst & Young.

UK house prices fell the most in more than two years in June in a sign buyers are under pressure after an increase in transaction taxes in April, according to one of Britain's top mortgage lenders. Renault RNO -2.39%decrease; red down pointing triangle Group said it would book a 9.5 billion euro ($11.20 billion) non-cash loss in the first half as a result of changes in the way it accounts for its stake in Nissan. The French carmaker on Tuesday said that the financial hit from the change has no impact on its cash nor on the calculation of its dividend and will be recognized in the income statement mostly in operating income and expenses as of June 30.

Warburg Nears €800 Million Deal for Ski Helmet Maker Uvex
Warburg Pincus is close to acquiring a majority stake in Uvex Group, the German maker of ski helmets and goggles, people with knowledge of the matter said. The private equity firm and the family owners of Uvex are hammering out the final details on a transaction, which could value the business at around €800 million ($942 million) including debt, according to the people. Warburg became the likeliest buyer of Uvex after beating out other private equity firm suitors, they said.
