‘Nakal karne ke liye akal chahiye': Asaduddin Owaisi's swipe at Pakistan over fake photo of ‘Operation Bunyan'
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi took a swipe at Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, over a fake image of 'Operation Bunyan', stating that 'nakal karne ke liye akal chahiye' (it requires brains to imitate well).
Calling the two 'stupid jokers', he cautioned against believing anything that Pakistan says, 'not even with a pinch of salt'.

The Pakistani Army chief presented a framed photograph to Sharif, falsely claiming that it showcased Islamabad's victory over India. However, the image was actually of a 2019 Chinese Army drill.

Owaisi strongly advocates for Pakistan's re-inclusion on FATF grey list
The AIMIM chief further called for Pakistan's re-inclusion on the FATF grey list, criticising the country's involvement in the barbaric April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, where terrorists shot dead 26 people, mostly tourists.
He said tighter financial scrutiny against Pakistan was the need of the hour as it would be expending the $2 billion IMF loan to strengthen its military and terror groups.
'Pakistan must be brought back on the FATF grey list. The importance of the FATF grey list is that there will be huge scrutiny on that nation when you do money transactions,' Owaisi said.
'It is a fact that Pakistan uses the Middle East hawala or money laundering to sponsor terror groups against India…bringing Pakistan in FATF is very important because…the 2 billion loan which the IMF is giving will be used by the Pakistani military,' he added.
Pakistan's misinformation campaign
During India's Operation Sindoor, Pakistan's attempt to execute its malicious misinformation campaign came to the forefront.
Presenting a fake photograph of Chinese drills, claiming victory against India, is not the first instance.
During the conflict, Pakistan reportedly tried to spread bogus claims like the destruction of India's S-400 air defence system, which was rebuffed by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.
'Pakistan has also attempted to execute a continued malicious misinformation campaign, with claims of destruction of the Indian S-400 system, destruction of airfields at Surat and Sirsa… India unequivocally rejects these false claims being spread by Pakistan,' Singh had said during an Operation Sindoor press briefing.

New Delhi: India's population is estimated to reach 1.46 billion in 2025, continuing to be the highest in the world, according to a new UN demographic report, which also revealed the country's total fertility rate has fallen below the replacement rate. UNFPA's 2025 State of World Population (SOWP) Report, The Real Fertility Crisis, calls for a shift from panic over falling fertility to addressing unmet reproductive goals. Millions of people are not able to realise their real fertility goals, it asserts. This is the real crisis, not underpopulation or overpopulation, and the answer lies in greater reproductive agency - a person's ability to make free and informed 150 per cent choices about sex, contraception and starting a family, it says. The report also reveals key shifts in population composition, fertility, and life expectancy, signalling a major demographic transition. The report found that India's total fertility rate has declined to 1.9 births per woman, falling below the replacement level of 2.1. This means that, on average, Indian women are having fewer children than needed to maintain the population size from one generation to the next, without migration. Despite the slowing birth rate, India's youth population remains significant, with 24 per cent in the age bracket of 0-14, 17 per cent in 10-19, and 26 per cent in country's 68 per cent of the population is of working age (15-64), providing a potential demographic dividend, if matched by adequate employment and policy support. The elderly population (65 and older) currently stands at seven per cent, a figure that is expected to rise in the coming decades as life expectancy improves. As of 2025, life expectancy at birth is projected to be 71 years for men and 74 years for women. According to the UN estimates, India's population at present stands at 1,463.9 million. India is now the world's most populous nation, with nearly 1.5 billion people – a number expected to grow to about 1.7 billion before it begins to fall, around 40 years from now, the report said. Behind these numbers are the stories of millions of couples who decided to start or expand their families, as well as the stories of women who had few choices about whether, when or how often they became pregnant, the report said. In 1960, when India's population was about 436 million, the average woman had nearly six children. Back then, women had less control over their bodies and lives than they do today. Fewer than 1 in 4 used some form of contraception, and fewer than 1 in 2 attended primary school (World Bank Data, 2020), the report said. But in the coming decades, educational attainment increased, access to reproductive healthcare improved, and more women gained a voice in the decisions that affected their lives. The average woman in India now has about two children. While women in India, and every other country, have more rights and choices today than their mothers or grandmothers did, they still have a long way to go before they are empowered to have the number of children they want, if any, when they wantthem.

Canada govt defends its move in parliament to invite Indian PM to G7 summit
Toronto: Under attack for inviting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 leaders' summit, the Canadian government has defended the decision saying that was a critical forum for discussions between global leaders. Responding to a question from a New Democratic Party (NDP) MP during question period in the House of Commons on Tuesday, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand said, 'The Prime Minister and I have spoken with our Indian counterparts and there has been an agreement for continued law enforcement dialogue.' She was referring to the conversation between Canadian PM Mark Carney and Modi last week during which the former extended the invitation to the summit, which will be held from June 15 to June 17 in the resort of Kananiskis in Alberta. 'The G7 is a critical forum for global leaders to have productive and frank discussions,' she added. Referring to the killing of pro-Khalistan figure Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023, she added, 'The RCMP's investigation is ongoing and, in this country, the rule of law will never be compromised. We will always stand up for the safety and security of Canadians.' The government has attracted flak from pro-Khalistan groups, the NDP, and Liberal Party MP Sukh Dhaliwal over its decision. On Friday, during the course of a press conference in Ottawa, Carney said, 'Bilaterally, we have now agreed, importantly, to continue law enforcement dialogue so there's been some progress on that.' Ties between the two nations deteriorated after then Canadian PM Justin Trudeau stated in the House on September 18, 2023, that there were 'credible allegations' of a potential link between Indian agents and the Nijjar murder three months earlier. India described those accusations as 'absurd' and 'motivated'. But Canada will keep these issues on its agenda, as a release from the prime minister's office stated on Saturday that one of its priorities for the G7 will be 'strengthening peace and security, countering foreign interference and transnational crime, and improving joint responses to wildfires. However, it also noted that the global meet will have 'a forward-looking agenda that engages partners beyond the G7, recognising that our long-term security and prosperity will depend on building coalitions with reliable partners and common values'. Speaking to reporters from Paris on Saturday, Anand said, 'The Prime Minister has invited Prime Minister Modi in recognition of the fact that this is the meeting of the G7 where global leaders are meeting to discuss global issues including the global economy.' Indo-Canadian groups have come out in support of Carney. In a letter to the PM on Tuesday, they wrote, 'Your steadfast commitment to the Canada First Policy prioritising national unity, economic strength, and sovereignty resonates deeply with Canadians from all walks of life. Your refusal to yield to divisive groups, such as Khalistani extremists, exemplifies the courage and vision required to uphold the values of inclusivity, peace, and mutual respect that define our great nation.' 'Your administration's decisive actions have sent a resounding message: Canada will not be manipulated by identity-based politics or intimidated by those who seek to sow division. These efforts align powerfully with the Canada First vision and reinforce our national resolve to protect Canadian interests above all else,' the letter noted. The letter was signed by organisations including Hindu Canadian Foundation, Vishwa Jain Sanghathan Canada and Coalition of Hindus of North America.
