Alex Cooper's family home sells for $1.1 million
Alex Cooper's family home has been sold for $US780,000 ($A1.1 million) just five months after the podcaster surprised her parents with a new house in Los Angeles.
During her show, the 'Call Her Daddy' host revealed that she had purchased an L.A. residence for her mum, Laurie, and her dad, Bryan.
She insisted to her listeners that she and her husband, producer Matt Kaplan, wanted 'nothing in return' for the gesture, Realtor reports.
The media personality did admit that having her parents live so close to her own $US10.7 million ($A16.4 million) Studio City pad would make it easier for her to enlist their babysitting services in the future
'My parents are officially moving to Los Angeles, California, and I bought them a house,' the former Barstool Sports star announced in the episode.
'It makes me emotional thinking about it because when I started 'Call Her Daddy,' I had somewhat of a vision of what I hoped this would turn into.'

Property records indicate that their longtime Newtown, Pennsylvania, property was sold on May 6 — 32 years after they purchased it for just $US211,250.
The property, which boasts four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, is where Cooper spent much of her childhood alongside her brother, Grant, and her sister, Kathryn, before she relocated to Boston in order to attend Boston University on a full-ride soccer scholarship.
She alleged that Ms Feldman, who has yet to publicly respond to Cooper's claims, began to 'fixate' on her, noting that she found her coach's behaviour 'confusing' at the time.
'[It] was all based in her wanting to know who I was dating, her making comments about my body and her always wanting to be alone with me,' Cooper says in the documentary, according to People.
'It was this psychotic game of, 'You want to play? Tell me about your sex life.' I felt so deeply uncomfortable.'
Cooper further claimed that she felt unable to speak up about the alleged harassment because she was attending BU on a 'full-tuition scholarship' and believed she would have been 'gone' if she didn't 'follow [Feldman's] rules'.
The podcast host said she did tell her parents about Ms Feldman's behaviour, revealing that the family hired a lawyer, who warned them that a potential case could be dragged out for years.
Addressing the allegations during a Q&A at the New York City premiere of her documentary, Cooper admitted that she had initially been unsure whether she wanted to open up about that time in her life.
The Podcaster recalled the difficult moment when 'Call Her Alex' director, Ry Russo-Young, asked her to return to the soccer field that she trained and played on during college.
'The minute I stepped back on that field, I felt so small,' she shared.
'I just felt like I was 18 years old again, and I was in a situation with someone in a position of power who abused their power, and I felt like I wasn't the 'Call Her Daddy' girl.
'I wasn't someone who had money and influence or whatever.
'I was just another woman who experienced harassment on a level that changed my life forever and took away the thing I loved the most.'
After graduating from BU in 2017, Cooper went on to launch 'Call Her Daddy' alongside her then-roommate Sofia Franklyn, before going on to ink a solo deal as the host of the podcast in 2020.
In the years since, Cooper has signed two multimillion-dollar deals with different audio streaming services, the first of which came in 2021 — when she inked a three-year contract with Spotify, which was reportedly worth $US60 million ($A92 million).
After that contract came to an end in 2024, Cooper moved on to SiriusXM, which reportedly offered her a multi-year deal worth a staggering $US125 million ($A191 million).
Having founded her podcast in New York, Cooper relocated to Los Angeles at the start of 2021, and in 2022, she purchased a Studio City abode with her then-boyfriend Kaplan, with whom she tied the knot in April 2024.
The couple carried out an extensive renovation on the home after purchasing it, revealing to Architectural Digest in 2023 that the process took just over a year to complete.
'I was a little overwhelmed by how much of an undertaking it would be, because [the home] was not our style whatsoever,' she told the publication.
'It was so far from our taste that it allowed us to tailor every single room to our liking.'

Richard Gere opens up about new life in Spain after quitting US
Richard Gere has hit out at President Donald Trump over his political agenda, claiming he has created a 'violent, crude, and ignorant' world. The Hollywood star, who quit life in the US and relocated to Spain with his wife, Alejandra Silva, 42, and their children, has been outspoken about Mr Trump and his policies that he implemented in the US. 'If each of us were kind to each other, the world would be different and better,' the 75-year-old told El Pais. 'Not all of us respond to wisdom, but we all respond to kindness. 'Even in the case of Trump, I'm sure there is something kind about him. People say he's charming in private. 'Yet the world he's created around himself is violent, crude, and ignorant. Many of the things he's doing we've never seen before.' When asked whether he believes Mr Trump's second term in office could 'irreversibly change the values of US society,' Gere admitted he 'worries' about it — claiming the president is 'cut off from' society's natural sense of empathy. The Golden Globe winner's latest comments come after he slammed Mr Trump as a 'bully and a thug' while accepting the International Goya Award in recognition of his ongoing humanitarian work. 'We're all part of a universe of overlapping pain and sadness and joy. … I see this world that we're in now forgetting that,' he said back in February. 'This very foolish tribalism is starting to take us over, where we think that we're all separate from each other. 'And we have unfortunately elected officials that don't inspire us in the way that we want to be inspired. I'm coming from a place now … we're in a very dark place in America where we have a bully and a thug who is the president of the United States. 'But it's not just in the US, it's everywhere.' Still, Gere admits that there are plenty of things he misses about his life in the US — specifically, the people he left behind, including his adult son, Homer. 'I miss my family and friends. I was just in New York visiting my friends and my oldest son,' he shared. 'We went to Pennsylvania, to the small town where my father and mother came from, and we visited their grave. 'I need to somehow feel connected to my history, to my best friends, to stay in contact with all of it.' Gere moved to the European country with his family in November, after offloading their stunning Connecticut mansion in an off-market deal, Realtor reports. The 'Sommersby' actor noted that watching his wife 'blossoming' in Spain has been reward enough for making the move. The 'Pretty Woman' actor explained that he wanted to return the favour she did for him in upping sticks and joining him in the US when they began their romance. 'Alejandra gave me six or seven years in the US; she dropped everything to be with me and create a life together,' he said. 'But I could see it was important for her to come back, that she really missed her family and friends. She's blossoming here.' Although Gere noted that he has never lived permanently abroad, he said that he has created a sense of belonging in his new Madrid dwelling by ensuring that he has access to the creature comforts he needs most — specifically his 'office, piano, guitars, and books'. 'In a way, I've taken my world and put it here,' he said. While the family has quickly laid down roots in what El Pais described as a 'chalet in the exclusive Madrid neighbourhood of La Moraleja,' Gere's wife noted they are not set on spending the rest of their days in the city. She told the publication they plan to 'stay … for a few years,' describing Madrid as a 'city that has … a very special energy'. However, she has previously revealed the family had always planned to 'come back' to the US. She told the Daily Mail that they were already spending their time going 'back and forth' between the two countries in order to visit their loved ones regularly. 'For a few years [we'll live in Spain], and then come back. But we're always coming back,' she said. 'We'll come back here in the summer because we have the kids at camp. We just have to balance our lives there and here.' The family has retained a home base in the US, despite selling their permanent residence in New Canaan, Connecticut. That home is now set to be torn down in order to make room for a nine-plot subdivision. In his April 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, Gere revealed he planned to keep a property 'in the countryside in New York,' although he hesitated to share specific details about its location.

Elsternwick: Bachelor couple Sam, Snezana Wood relist $6m+ home
Sam and Snezana Wood's spectacular Elsternwick home has hit the market again, with a $6.6m price guide. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom property is poised for a full listing relaunch in coming weeks. The couple, who rose to fame on The Bachelor in 2015 and have since built a national lifestyle and wellness brand, purchased the home for $3.31m in 2018. 'There are a lot of prestige homes on the market, but not many that feel like this,' he said. 'You can tell every decision came from a place of care, and that's what buyers connect with.' Sam Wood remains active in the fitness space after selling his platform '28 by Sam Wood' for $71m in 2022, while Snezana has recently turned her attention to fashion, launching a jewellery collection in collaboration with Shannakian Fine Jewellery. Now, the couple's dream home is ready for its next chapter, and the right buyer. Private inspections are underway. The relaunch is coming soon.
