37 Storage Solutions For Parents With Kid Stuff All Over The Place
1. An over-the-door stuffed animal organizer because somehow, at the age of 2, your child has accumulated a concerning amount of plush pals. This will *attempt* to keep 'em contained and hopefully save your back from lots of bending to put them back in a basket on the floor.
Honeyera is a small business that sells items specifically designed to keep kids' toys organized.
Promising review:"This holds a ton of stuffed animals. I bought it for my two girls, who share a room, and their beds are overrun with stuffies. This holds so much so they can still be on display; it's easy for them to get them in and out except for the top basket, and it matches their room colors. Great quality and easy to use." — The Word Of A King
Get it from Amazon for $30.95 (available in 10 colors).
2. Plus, an over-the-door organizer from the same small biz made *just* for Squishmallows, in case your kiddo has caught the *collector's* bug. Or, ya know, just wants to swim in a pile of snuggly, squishy little friends forever. Who could blame them?
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
This is also made by small biz Honeyera!
Promising review:"I grabbed this over-the-door organizer for both of my kids during Prime Days, and even though it was not the cheapest option, it is by far worth the money. The hooks fit perfectly over their doors (older house with thinner doors approx. 1.35 inches deep), the back of the organizer includes rods to keep the structure flat against the door, and it fits so many stuffies. The organizer provided needed storage for my kids' smaller rooms. Absolutely recommend this product." — Heidi Schick
Get it from Amazon for $28.95.
3. Or (the options are endless!) a stuffed animal hammock so your kiddo's best pals can live in the lap of luxury instead of being tossed throughout the house.
Promising review: " I have twin boys with a large collection of stuffed animals. My initial concern was that they would not be large enough, but they are plenty big. We really like the fact that the outer edge material is stretchy and pretty durable. We stretched it pretty far to make it as large as possible to keep the animals from sagging down too low to the beds. It works great, and we loaded them up with no issues. The fact that you get two for the price that others were selling for one is a great deal. I can fully recommend this product." — Levi Dunn
Get it from Amazon for $14.99+ (available in two sizes and 12 colors).
4. Or (last one, I promise) a rounded stuffed animal storage "zoo" that'll beautifully double as decor in your little one's nursery — playful, unique, and practical. What more could you ask for as a parent in need of some extra organization?
www.amazon.com
Promising review: "Great for storing toys, dolls, and stuffed animals that are scattered around the room and keeping the room organized. It's so big!! Good quality and easy to assemble! Worth the money!" — Edmilson Silva
Get it from Amazon for $68.99.
5. A handy toy storage bag — it must have been designed by a parent who stepped on one too many Lego bricks, raised their first in the air, and shouted, "NEVER AGAIN!!!!"
Creative QT is a small business!
Promising review:"My son had recently turned the house into a death trap with his Legos all over the floors. Walking anywhere barefoot became impossible because you would inevitably step on one and get it lodged in your foot. It got to the point where I was afraid to go anywhere at night because of the impending doom. Then we found this organizer, and since then, our lives have been saved. He can quickly and easily store all of his Legos in one place. We can now get all of them cleaned up in minutes and know that we can walk around the house in peace once again." — Chris
Get it from Amazon for $53.99 (available in four colors).
6. A Magna-Tile storage bin will double as a playmat (oooh) and make cleaning up those fabulous but pesky magnetic blocks easier than ever. It zips open so kiddos can see all the pieces, and then it zips shut when they're ready to move on to a new activity.
My kids have this for their Magna-Tiles (a small business), which has immensely improved my playroom situation. The sides zip down and flatten out to create a playmat (fun!) and then close up just as easily to become a storage bin again! As our collection grows, I'll definitely invest in a second one.
Promising review:"I saw this item and knew I needed to get it because his 'tiles' were getting out of hand. I stored them in several items, such as a plastic bin or a box. This is perfect because it stores them beautifully, but also you can unzip the sides, and they can play with the tiles there and then zip them back up and throw them back in. They fit wonderfully on a shelf and stack, too. I love them; they help organize my son's room." — L.A. Buchanan
Get it from Amazon for $24.99.
7. Colorful stackable crates that'll just beg you to fill them with your tyke's markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, and glue sticks galore. When they're not in use, they collapse flat for easy storage.
www.amazon.com
Promising review:"Smaller than I thought, but still great. Helps condense and separate supplies perfectly well. Able to stack them without falling." — k.fotographs
Get a set of six from Amazon for $9.99.
8. A toilet paper stocker to keep your TP out of harm's way, and by harm's way, I mean your toddler discovering a stack of rollable paper they can use to cover every inch of your home like a group of teens before homecoming.
Promising review:"I really love it. Living in a shoebox in NY, I constantly look for storage solutions. This design is incredible. It takes up so little footprint and, fits perfectly between the toilet bowl and the wall, and is very functional. I hate going to the deli store to get a couple of rolls of toilet paper at a time. Now I can get 12 rolls at a time, though if you get the larger rolls, they won't come through the hole on the bottom. You will have to retrieve the larger rolls by removing the top, which is not a big deal. I put a wonderful Olavie diffuser and body scrub on the top, and it looks really nice. It's a must-have for any small apartment living!" — Ken H
Get it from Amazon for $56.
9. A five-shelf hanging closet organizer that'll create a makeshift shelving system in your tyke's shelf-less closet — a great option for stashing the clothes they haven't grown into just yet, spare blankets, pillows, shoes, etc.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
I purchased this for when my parents visit and pop it into my entryway closet to create temporary space for their clothes — it works like a charm! I've also used it to store my baby's clothes she hasn't grown into yet instead of taking up space in her dresser drawers.
Promising review:"We live in a tiny one-bedroom house with a 4-month-old and literally two small closets as our only storage space. This was exactly what I needed to help organize baby clothes/diapers and provide more space to store and organize all the random stuff that had been shoved willy-nilly into a pile at the bottom or top of the closet. Very satisfied!!" — Brittany Smith
Get it from Amazon for $12.87 (available in eight colors and two sizes).
10. An adjustable closet doubler for any tyke with a more elaborate wardrobe than Cher Horowitz — this will give them enough space for their fall, winter, spring, and summer fashions!
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"My daughter is 4 and was getting annoyed that she couldn't get her own clothes in the morning. So I got this for her closet, and now she can get all her own clothes! She was thrilled. When she realized that I also now expected her to hang up all her own clothes as well, she wasn't quite as happy lol. Super quick and easy to put together. Would recommend." — Marissa

www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"Love these hangers! I doubled the closet space used for my collection of running skirts. And cleared the dresser drawer space by hanging my leggings as well. With these hangers, I was able to organize for winter vs. summer wear, holiday themes, and favorites." — M Shepard

14. Under-bed storage containers most people use to stow away seasonal clothing, but parents can (and should) totally use them to stash crafting materials, stuffed animals, extra blankets, etc., while they're not being used.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I bought this to store my kids' million stuffed animals under their bunk bed. And I am in love with the two. They fit all of them with a little room to spare. It's been a few months, and they are holding up great after frequently being slid in and out from under the bed, unzipped, unpacked, and packed back up again. I couldn't be happier. I'm extremely satisfied." — Amber
Get it from Amazon for $12.97+ (available in five colors).
15. A practical hair accessory organizer for the moms who have gone a *teensy* bit overboard when it comes to stockpiling bows, headbands, and clips for a little human who barely has any hair yet. Ain't no shame in the accessorizing game, my friends.
I have this exact organizer in my daughter's closet, and it's been great for organizing her hair accessories even before she was born. I was gifted an excess of hair bows from anyone and everyone who heard I was having a baby girl, so it was necessary to have a way to keep all of them in check. It was easy to put together, add all of the clips/bows/headbands, and now hangs in her closet. Easy-peasy.
Promising review: "This holds a good amount of hair bows! I like that it comes with hooks to hang the bows on, and I also really like that it has a top section to add clip-on hair accessories as well. It's super easy to hang and is a cute functional way to store many accessories." — Ariana Rodela
Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in 18 styles).
16. Or a regular ol' hanging jewelry holder with individual pockets where you can give the plethora of bows, scrunchies, and cute hair clips your kids have acquired the happy little home they deserve.
www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I love these! I used to keep my hair accessories in a basket, but I couldn't see what I had on the bottom; I ended up buying so many hair pins and hair bands. I was surprised at how much of the same things I owned and kept buying. Thanks to this super clever organization hanger, I can clearly see all at once now. Clear plastic pockets make it so easy to glance at everything at once and let me grab what I need quickly. I'm so in love with them." — Jackpot
Get it from Amazon for $12.99+ (available in 18 styles).
17. A clear shower curtain liner featuring nine mesh pockets that'll keep your fave body wash out of reach from your child, who might very well mistake it for bubble bath and dump it all directly into the tub. Additionally, it's an excellent option for storing (and drying) bath toys!
Elizabeth Lilly / BuzzFeed
BuzzFeed Shopping editor Elizabeth Lilly says: "I couldn't be happier with my purchase, which seems expensive for a shower curtain liner but is totally worth the price. Its mesh pockets are incredibly sturdy, and even *I* can fit all my shower stuff in there. (FYI, I often keep three or four body washes and conditioners each in the shower at all times.) There's lots of reinforcement where each pocket meets the liner and at the top of the liner, so dropping a weighty bottle of shampoo in a pocket is NBD. Obviously, you want to try for even weight distribution between the pockets and toiletries, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. And these smooth-gliding hooks I also bought for my new digs make opening and closing my shower curtain as smooth as buttah." Check out her full review here, #7.
Promising review: "I have two! I have had the first one for two years. I load it up with heavy products and kid's crayons, soap, shampoos, etc. NO TEARS, NO WEAR. Barely noticeable. If you have little kids or not a lot of shelf space in your shower, this is the greatest thing ever. LOVE IT." — GenXMomOf2LittleGirls
Get it from Amazon for $20.14.
18. A 24-pocket door-hanging sleeve, capable of storing *SO* many kid things you'll wish you could hang over every door in your home — reviewers use it to stow away Nerf guns, snack packs, diapers, outfits for the week, and of course, lots of shoes.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:" I bought one for my child's door to keep little shoes, diapers, wipes, medicines, cloths, etc. in...then bought another one for my other child to keep more shoes, necklaces, little toys, cassette tapes, etc. This is a perfect way to keep things up and out of the way! And it works great for diapers and little shoes!!! The pockets are not large enough to hold some pairs of my preschooler's tennis shoes. They are one shoe per pocket. But otherwise, they are quite big. About five size-4 diapers fit per pocket to give you some idea. :)" — T L
Get it from Amazon for $8.47+ (available in two sizes and seven colors).
19. A vertical shoe tower so the next time your toddler has a meltdown and insists they NEED their pink Crocs, you won't have to turn the entire house upside down looking for the lone one that always seems to go missing. It'll also beautifully keep your family from piling shoes in your entryway — a win for all.
Promising reviews:"This is perfect for what we are looking for. It had to fit in a smaller space and served to stop a puddle of shoes from forming at the doorstep. I am glad that we have smaller feet/shoes, though, as the spaces are a bit narrow. There are only two larger spaces that would work for high-top shoes or heeled boots. All the other spaces fit flats or low sneakers well." — Sara C.
"It is so useful and makes our entryway look so much neater than the scattered shoes my kid left everywhere. The shelf is pricey but worth it!" — Ikey Babe
Get it from Amazon for $45.99+ (available in three colors and two sizes).
20. A beanbag cover to transform Mount Plush (the ever-growing pile of stuffed animals in your kid's room) into a functional seat! A two-for-one item you simply cannot pass up. It'll hold up to five pillows and 80 12-inch stuffed toys.
Amazon
Promising review:"These are perfect for any kids' room! I was getting so tired of messy stuffed animals and blankets all over so it's nice to have them out of sight, but still easily accessible. My 2-year-old loves to sit on hers and read books. She doesn't have a ton of stuffed animals, so there is plenty of room to add to it for when her collection grows. I love the fun, bright print, and sturdiness — she drags it all over the ground, but I don't worry about it tearing at all. Just what she needed in her room." — dd
Get it from Amazon for $18.98+ (available in 26 colors and patterns and three sizes).
21. A coat rack and storage shelf you can designate as the spot to keep all of your kids' backpacks, lunch boxes, jackets, and shoes. Perfect for anyone who is *quite* tired of forgetting one of these essential items at home and only realizing once you're in the school drop-off line. Sigh.
Promising review:"This is perfect for my entryway, a dropping ground for all the kids' keys, hats, and purses. Saves my dining table from clutter! Added small baskets for individual items, wallets, etc., and a larger basket for shoes. When they leave, if kids have left something, inevitably, it goes in a basket until they return! Love this 'catchall'" — Debra McDairment
Get it from Amazon for $51.99+ (available in five colors and two sizes).

Get it from Amazon for $73.99+ (available in 12 styles).
23. A two-tier turntable you may already own for your spices, but did you know you can *also* use it to keep tabs on your kid's medicines and vitamins? You'll pat yourself on the back in the middle of the night when your tyke has a fever, and you need to grab some Tylenol quickly. Some reviewers also use it to neatly store baby food!
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I purchased two, one to store baby essentials and one to store medications. It is quite big, but I knew that when purchasing. It doesn't fit in my standard cabinets, but I use it in my corner cabinet (it's deeper) with no issues. Assembly is easy. The parts just click together. I like the gripped surface. Helps keep items in place while spinning." — Luman22
Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in seven colors).
24. Reliable Command hooks because parents don't have time to drill into walls and hit nails (or at least I don't). Use 'em to show off your kid's artwork, hang their bath towels at a height they can reach, keep track of their backpacks, la la la.
Promising reviews:"I just moved into a brand-new apartment and didn't want to put holes in the walls. I have purchased quite a variety of the 3M Command mini hooks, wire hooks, cord bundlers, picture hangers, photo bars, display shelves, extra-adhesive tabs in different sizes, etc. It will be a long time before I go back to using nails. These Command products are the greatest! I recently found one of the unused adhesive tabs in the pocket of something that had gone through the washer and dryer, and it STILL worked!!! Thanks for a terrific, easy-to-use product." — LJE
"It works well to hang smaller pictures and kids' artwork. And bonus, no holes in walls, yay!" — Zoey S.
Get a 16-pack from Amazon for $11.31.
25. A shower caddy that'll store your kiddo's toys and bath products without taking away from the carefully curated aesthetic you've made for your bathroom.
Amazon, www.amazon.com

Get it from Amazon for $10.99+ (available in four colors).
26. A large woven wicker basket you'll be happy to have invested in after your infant kept you up all night and your toddler seemingly has toys covering every inch of your home — toss everything right in here for an aesthetically pleasing storage option.
Promising review:"I ordered this basket to store my sons' play vacuums, push toys, etc. I've been looking for a big, sturdy basket for a few months and finally found this one. It's a great size, looks cute, and still allows their toy to be accessible all day." — Maddy Sue
Get it from Amazon for $46.14.
27. Or a small woven basket if your kid's larger items are under control (good for you!), but the tiny odds 'n' ends are the ones causing you strife. Grab all the magnet tiles you can find and toss 'em right in here for safekeeping.
Promising review:"Used this basket several times now to make housewarming baskets, baby showers, bridal showers, etc. I know it's something friends and family can use after holding all the other knickknacks I've included as a gift. Kids' toys, books, throw blankets, pet toys, you name it, it holds it AND looks fantastic." — Arlene
Get it from Amazon for $21.59+ (available in two sizes and five colors).
28. Some shelf dividers that'll, of course, keep your kids' closets organized but can also be used to make their bookshelves sturdier, which is great news for the four copies you received of "Rainbow Fish" at your baby shower!
www.amazon.com
Promising review:" We have tons of hardcover and softcover kids' books, but my 4-year-old was having a hard time getting what she wanted or putting them away because if a few were removed from the shelf, everything else would tip over. This made it difficult for her to lift and shove them to reinsert a book. So I got these dividers and crossed my fingers they would clamp to the shelf well and be a really sturdy metal to resist the weight of the large books. You can see from the before and after pics that it was chaos. Two of these dividers per shelf (and, let's face it, some purging of books) really helped. Came back for another couple of sets of dividers for other bookshelves and linen closet organization; I like them that much!" — ebindc
Get a two-pack from Amazon for $17.99.
29. Or floating bookshelves you can use to display your tyke's favorite picture books while *also* ensuring they don't get ripped and destroyed by them when it isn't storytime.
Promising review:"These shelves were the right length for a small corner I wanted to use for book racks in a nursery, so I gave them a try. They came very well packaged, with no chips, dents, or anything — in perfect condition. Very smooth, true bright white finish. They were easy to install by myself, with the large drywall anchors and long screws included. They stay firmly on the wall without wiggling and are deep enough to fit plenty of books. I can see these becoming nice toy display shelves in the future as well." — Hope
Get a set of two from Amazon for $39.99+ (available in four sizes and five colors).
30. A cord box to help you put Elsa's lyrics "conceal, don't feel" in practice — it'll hide all the wires you've accumulated for your many devices from your kiddo's grubby grasp.
Daniel Boan / BuzzFeed
Great Useful Stuff is a small business based in Sonoma, California! This box includes the unit and six magnetic spools to organize the cords.
BuzzFeed Shopping editor Daniel Boan says:"When Great Useful Stuff sent this to me for review, I thought it would simply be a cute way to keep my chargers from falling under my desk and becoming impossible to find, but I didn't realize how it would basically transform my space. As you can see above, I had a wildly unacceptable pile of wires on my floor that was becoming so big I almost started asking it to chip in for rent. When the box arrived, I untangled the cords, placed my power strip in the bottom of the box, then threaded the wires through the holes at the top (it also comes with magnetic attachments for looping excess length in the wires, but I didn't even need to use those). Now my cords are cleverly concealed and so much easier to manage — which makes me feel like I ever so slightly have my life together. I said slightly."
Get it from Great Useful Stuff for $52.49 (available in two styles)
31. Or a double-layered cord organizer for parents of gamers who are exasperated over the endless wires strewn all over the place and their tween's constant questioning of "Do you know where my charger is?"
A bunch of reviewers also use it as a pencil case.

Get it from Amazon for $18.99+ (available in two sizes and four colors).

www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I had never used these before. On advice from a friend, I decided to try them out because the price was right. Oh my goodness, I don't know why I have not tried these before. My basement closet had blankets falling out of it; it was so full. I took everything out and organized it according to type. Then, we used the Spacesaver bags with our vacuum. We now have so much more room in the closet. I plan on trying to use these when we travel. I also plan to use them for my kids' baby blankets/baby clothes." — CDJ

A woman was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in New Hampshire Monday afternoon while trying to get an unleashed dog off the train tracks, according to police. Plaistow resident Alicia Leonardi, 42, was killed in a train crash in Exeter around 3:20 p.m., Exeter police said in a Facebook post. The preliminary investigation suggests that Leonardi and a male friend were walking a dog along the tracks when the train approached quickly from around a corner to their rear, police said. The unleashed dog ran onto the tracks at the sound of the train's horn, and both Leonardi and her friend tried to get it off the tracks. Both people were hit by the train while trying to rescue the dog, police said. Leonardi's injuries were fatal, while the man's injuries were minor. Exeter police are investigating the crash with the help of Amtrak police and others, the department said. Amtrak did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the crash Tuesday afternoon.
