Canoeist wins 125-mile non-stop canoe race for third time
A man who canoed 125 miles (201km) without stopping says he is "ecstatic" to have won the annual event for a third year in a row.Tom Sharpe and his canoe partner Anoushka Freeman finished the Devizes to Westminster race in 17 hours and 17 minutes. They set off from the Wiltshire town on Saturday at about 18:00 BST and finished in London at about 11:00 BST on Sunday, overcoming "very difficult conditions". "[The] strong winds didn't stop the whole race. It was in your face the whole time. It's quite energy-zapping and obviously it slows you down," Mr Sharpe told BBC Radio Wiltshire.
This year's annual Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race saw more than 300 people take part and ended on Monday.
The event first took place in 1948, with paddlers making their way to London over the Easter weekend.Competitors come from all over the world, including Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and the United States.
Reacting to their win, Mr Sharpe said: "[I'm] a little tired, I've got a slight croaky voice. But pretty ecstatic to win again."The event organiser Paul Fielden told BBC Radio Wiltshire lower water, particularly in the River Thames, made it so hard for paddlers that 50% withdrew as they failed to reach Teddington Lock on time.Mr Sharpe, who is based in Richmond-upon-Thames, said the second half of the race from Reading to Westminster was "harder than usual" as there was "no water to push us down". To train, he says he paddles 62 miles (100km) and runs 31 miles (50km) every week between January and April.
Mr Fielden said Mr Sharpe and Ms Freeman - whose win was her second in a row - beat their closest rivals by four minutes in a "fantastic race"."We had a 50% failure rate this year, lots of paddlers pulled out because of the conditions best described as brutal," he said."It's a tough race in the best of years, this year was exceptionally tough."The event is divided into different races: the senior doubles (non-stop), the stage races which are paddled over four days, and the junior doubles which involves eight hours paddling and an overnight camp.

Don't open EA FC 25 Rivals rewards instantly if you want Shapeshifters rewards
EA Sports has included Shapeshifters rewards in EA FC 25 Rivals rewards, but you won't be able to get them if you open your rewards as soon as you earn them If you want to get the best players possible from your EA FC 25 Rivals rewards, then don't open your packs and player picks straight away, and wait a day longer instead. As always, EA FC 25 Rivals rewards will become available to claim on Thursday at 12am PDT / 3AM EDT / 8am BST for all players in Ultimate Team, giving players the chance to open all the packs and player picks they've earned from playing Rivals over the last week. As you go up the divisions, the EA FC 25 Rivals rewards get better, but as we approach the end-game of EA FC 25 Ultimate Team, EA Sports has boosted all the Rivals rewards, with guaranteed promo player packs included as low as Division 8. Guaranteed TOTS packs were released for the TOTS promo, and with the Shapeshifters promo up next, EA has now started to include Shapeshifters items in EA FC 25 Rivals rewards. Shapeshifters is one of the biggest promos in the Ultimate Team calendar, and players have been given their first taste of what to expect in the upcoming promo as part of the Season 8 rewards. The updated EA FC 25 Rivals rewards include packs and player picks that contain either Ultimate TOTS or Shapeshifters players, and with the pack weight for Ultimate TOTS quite weak and Shapeshifters almost guaranteed to have better players, the Ultimate Team community will be praying for players from the latter promo instead. But, with the Shapeshifters promo not live in Ultimate Team packs until Friday, June 13 at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT/ 6pm BST, if you were to open your Rivals rewards before then, then your guaranteed TOTS/Shapeshifters packs and player picks will only include TOTS players and no Shapeshifters items. Don't open your EA FC 25 Rivals rewards With Shapeshifters players not available until Friday, June 13 at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT/ 6pm BST, we recommend saving your EA FC 25 Rivals rewards until the Shapeshifters players are available in packs, as there will be a much better chance of you earning one of these incredible players in your rewards. Early Shapeshifters leaks have revealed that Icons and Heroes will also be included in the promo, while players will be as high as 98-rated, so you'd be silly not to wait an extra day to open your rewards and try and earn one of these coveted items. The Shapeshifters promo is expected to last a few weeks in Ultimate Team, meaning Shapeshifters players will be included in Rivals rewards for the next few weeks. But, it's only this week where it makes sense to hold off on opening your Rivals rewards straight away and show a little bit of patience.

Celtic 'reopen talks' to sign January transfer target
The Parkhead club were linked with a move for the 21-year-old in the January transfer window, although it ultimately never came to fruition. Now, Celtic have reopened talks with Sarpsborg over the wide man, although no formal offer has been made yet, according to Sky Sports. There is also said to be interest in Orjasaeter from clubs in Germany and the Netherlands. Read more: Sky claimed in January that Celtic bid £4.6 million for the Norwegian, with his club holding out for £7 million. "I struggled to sleep," Orjasaeter previously said after his failed move to Parkhead. "I didn't know if I was going to be in Norway or not. I could have moved at any moment. I had to carry my passport with me everywhere. "When the window closed, I felt a sense of relief. I came to the conclusion that I was determined to stay in Sarpsborg and play here, because I didn't know if I was ready to leave yet. "Going abroad now is another level up. It had become more professional and everything. There were many thoughts going through my head during that period. "If I get a little more time in Sarpsborg, I think I'll mature and be ready for it eventually. "Of course, you will have a better life after your career if you have more money in your account, but you only live once. For me, it is just as important to have fun along the way. It is probably even more important "I have a lot of friends to keep me grounded. I think if I only had football, my head would explode! "I'm not much of a fan of football, but I love having it as a job. I couldn't have a better job than what I have. "But when I see that my friends are going on holiday or to ski at Easter, I get jealous. I'm not going to lie. "I hope that those clubs understand that not everyone can be the same. At the same time, I have my serious side too. And I think that kind of thing comes a little with age."
