LeBron James
is not just a Los Angeles Lakers star but is also the minority owner of the soccer club, Liverpool F.C., which had been celebrating its
Premier League
win recently with a championship parade. However, several pedestrians were injured when an unstoppable minivan collided with them.
James took to social media to share his reaction to the unfortunate incident.
LeBron James tweets after Liverpool F.C. incident
Taking to X hours after the incident, LeBron James wrote on Monday, "OMG!!!! WTH. My deepest thoughts and prayers goes out to everyone affected that attended @LFC Premiere League trophy parade today! Such a senseless act!. #YNWA." He also shared a broken heart emoticon with the tweet.
The incident took place on Water Street in Liverpool around 6 pm when a 53-year-old man driving a minivan plowed into the fans taking part in the FC's Premier League trophy parade on Monday.
The driver was arrested.
This is Liverpool F.C.'s first Premier League win in five years and fans had taken to the streets in large numbers to celebrate the occasion. James had purchased a two percent stake in Liverpool F.C. in 2011, which was, however, reduced to a one percent stake in Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which owns Liverpool.
LeBron James has been home ever since the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs this season despite the much-talked-about Luka Doncic trade which added more strength to the team.

In between the conversation with the Mind the Game podcast host Steve Nash, James said- "If they're going to allow it to be as physical as it is, you've got to give us a little time to prepare for it. Maybe 12 to 15 games left in the regular season. Like a month. Give us a month to prepare for it. Because it goes from zero to 100." According to the drastic change proposed by LeBron James, the players can easily focus on their mental and physical health if they end up getting almost a month's time before the games.
