European Darts Open 2025 order of play: full schedule and start times as Dave Chisnall defends title in Leverkusen
Gary Anderson and Peter Wright amongst the World champions hunting victory in Germany
Dave Chisnall will begin his defence of the Elten Safety Shoes European Darts Open against Cameron Menzies.
The year's eighth European Tour event is now down to 32 players competing for the £30,000 top prize in Leverkusen after Friday's 16 first round matches. The 16 PDC Order of Merit Qualifiers will enter the tournament in Saturday's second round as reigning champion Chisnall sets his sights on a ninth European Tour crown with Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting, Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Nathan Aspinall and Gary Anderson amongst the big names joining for the second-round matches.
Highlights on day one saw Niko Springer storm through by demolishing Dirk van Duijvenbode to set-up a clash with Chris Dobey. Sweden's Andreas Harrysson claimed the scalp of Raymond van Barneveld and will now face another former World Champion Smith, who is embroiled in a battle for World Matchplay qualification.
Wessel Nijman, a semi-finalist in Rosmalen last weekend, swept aside the returning Brendan Dolan in his opener and his reward is a clash with two-time World Champion Gary Anderson. Following Saturday's second round, the third round will take place on Sunday afternoon, before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in a blockbuster evening session.
Live coverage from the European Darts Open will be streamed on DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and through the DAZN Darts channel on Pluto TV.

Darts host forced to apologise after Nathan Aspinall's X-rated interview with Asp left covering his face in horror
NATHAN ASPINALL went from hero to zero after accidentally swearing during an on-stage interview. The Asp won the European Tour 8 final last night, beating Damon Heta 8-6 to bank a whopping £30,000. 3 3 Aspinall is in great form after making the Premier League play-off last Thursday by finishing in the top four and he won the night in Aberdeen on May 15. The 33-year-old was asked about his recent brilliance in a live TV interview after picking up the trophy in Leveruksen, Germany yesterday. Aspinall reflected: "I've been through rubbish but I'm getting back there. "When things are not going your way, you have to keep fighting, digging and believing you can get back to your best. That is what I do. "And the last few weeks have been pretty f***ing good." Aspinall immediately covered his face in horror after his X-rated remark. Host Philip Brzezinski said: "Very nearly Nathan. We apologise for the language." Heta was also seen giggling to himself after his rival's dropped the F-bomb. It came after Aspinall also said: "To bounce back after the defeat on Thursday night, to come here and win this tournament, shows where my game's at at the moment. "I don't make games easy but in the semi-final and final I played fantastic. 'Early to be losing your rag' - Commentator blasts darts star as he has MELTDOWN in just second leg "Credit to Damon - I thought that final was absolutely fantastic, it was a great game of darts, nip and tuck." 3

Oldham battle from behind twice to earn promotion to Football League
In front of a record crowd of 52,115 at Wembley, substitutes James Norwood and Kian Harratt scored within the space of two minutes after Leon Chambers-Parillon had restored Southend's lead just seconds into extra time. An early own-goal from Manny Monthe had given the Shrimpers the lead, but was cancelled out by Joe Garner's penalty after Monthe had been brought down in the area. DO NOT WRITE OLDHAM OFF 😱 OLDHAM ATHLETIC HAVE COMPLETELY TURNED IT AROUND IN EXTRA TIME Watch the Promotion Final live on DAZN. Buy now at | @TheVanaramaNL — National League on DAZN (@DAZN_NationalLg) June 1, 2025 Oldham boss Micky Mellon unsurprisingly named the same starting XI which won 3-0 against York in the semi-final, only to see his side concede their first goal of the play-offs with just four minutes on the clock. Gus Scott-Morriss pounced on a loose pass in midfield and chipped the ball into the area for Charley Kendall to chase and his presence was enough to pressure the unfortunate Monthe to loft the ball over his own goalkeeper. Garner came close to an equaliser when his header from Tom Pett's corner came back off the post and Oldham felt they should have had a penalty when Mike Fondop went down in the area under a challenge from Harry Taylor. Taylor did not appear to get much of the ball but referee Elliot Bell waved away the appeals and the Oldham fans suffered more frustration in the last minute of the half as Fondop missed a golden chance to equalise. A defensive clearance was charged down and left Fondop through on goal, but after clipping the ball over goalkeeper Nick Hayes he could only look on as it drifted agonisingly wide of the post. It took less than a minute of the second half for Oldham to finally get back on level terms, Garner calmly scoring from the penalty spot after Monthe had been brought down in the area. SOUTHEND UNITED ON TOP AGAIN EARLY IN EXTRA TIME Watch the Promotion Final live on DAZN. Buy now at | @TheVanaramaNL — National League on DAZN (@DAZN_NationalLg) June 1, 2025 Neither side was able to find a winner in normal time but Southend regained the lead just seconds into extra-time, goalkeeper Mathew Hudson parrying a deflected cross from Scott-Morriss straight on to the head of substitute Chambers-Parillon to head into the empty net. Oldham refused to throw in the towel and Norwood got them back on level terms for the second time when he latched on to a long ball through the middle and took a deft touch around Hayes before slotting the ball into an empty net. And just two minutes later Oldham grabbed the winner as Harratt's curling cross evaded everyone in the area before nestling into the far corner to send the Latics fans wild.
