Clint Eastwood, 95, says his viral interview is 'phony' as he never spoke to the publication

Legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood wants to set the record straight. The 95-year-old movie icon spoke to Deadline about headlines about himself - specifically an 'interview' with Kurier - a German-language Austrian newspaper. Clint told Deadline the interview with Kurier never happened and that the entire 'interview' they published is 'phony.' 'A couple of items about me have recently shown up in the news. I thought I would set the record straight. I can confirm I turned 95. I can also confirm that I never gave an interview to an Austrian publication called Kurier, or any other writer in recent weeks, and that the interview is entirely phony,' Clint told Deadline. Clint, who turned 95 on May 31, was quoted by Kurier in the faux interview as saying: 'We live in an era of remakes and franchises. I've shot sequels three times, but I haven't been interested in that for a long while. My philosophy is: do something new or stay home.' Clint's career has spanned decades, with his first movie role in Revenge of the Creature in 1955. He starred in iconic projects over the years, including Man with No Name, For A Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Dirty Harry, High Plains Drifter, The Outlaw Josey Wales and Escape From Alcatraz - just to name a few. Clint has also served as a director in a number of projects including Pale Rider, Unforgiven, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Letters from Iwo Jima, Gran Torino and Flags of Our Fathers and more. He also starred in Pale Rider, Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino in addition to directing. His most recent project, Juror No. 2 - which he directed - was released in November 2024 and starred Nicholas Hoult. J.K. Simmons and Toni Collete. The last film he appeared in (which he also directed) was Cry Macho in 2021. Clint's son Scott Eastwood spoke out about his father recently. The 39-year-old actor - who is the spitting image of his father - was asked by People how his father was doing nearly a year after Ciint's girlfriend of 10 years, Christina Sandera died at age 61 following a heart attack. Scott said he was 'doing good' and said that 'he's a survivor, a trouper,' explaining that his father doesn't complain; from left to right: Kyle Eastwood, Alison Eastwood, Clint and Scott in December 2018 Scott said he was 'doing good' and said that 'he's a survivor, a trouper,' explaining that his father doesn't complain. 'He was born coming out of the Great Depression, and then he was young during World War II. He saw a lot of struggle.' Last year, Scott told People some advice his dad Clint told him in regards to his acting career.

Flekken 'became one of the best goalkeepers in the league'

Mark Flekken "became one of the best goalkeepers in the league" despite "a tough beginning", says Brentford's goalkeeper coach Manu who made 77 appearances for the Bees after joining from Freiburg in May 2023, has now returned to the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen for about £8m."Mark was a great number one for us on and off the pitch," said Sotelo. "Despite a tough beginning, he ended up being a really important player."Offensively, he helped us to play from the back on another level, but not just playing short as he got three assists in two seasons."Defensively, he became a really solid goalkeeper after an uncomfortable transition after changing countries. The Premier League is ruthless, but he became one of the best goalkeepers in the league."He was relentless in training and leading our young goalkeepers. His impact here was massive and we wish him all the best for the future."

Outgoing Man United star puts European clubs on red alert with update on his future - as he outlines his desire to LEAVE the Premier League

Christian Eriksen has pricked up the antennae of clubs around Europe by announcing his intention to leave the Premier League. The Manchester United star will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires on June 30 - and that is likely to end a run of 11 years in English football. Eriksen, 33, has added an FA Cup and Carabao Cup to his memory board during his time with United, completing a remarkable recovery after his cardiac arrest at the Euros in 2021. But he admits has has 'had his turn' in the world's best league and wants a fresh start elsewhere. 'Right now there is nothing. There is interest all around, but there is nothing that I am close to signing,' he told Danish broadcaster TV 2 Sport. 'My focus will be to play international matches and then have a good summer holiday. Then we will see how long the holiday will be. 'I would rather get away from the Premier League. I feel I have had my turn in the Premier League, so I am looking outside the English borders. 'It's been a great place for me and my family, and we've been there for many years. When I moved from Tottenham to Inter, it wasn't the plan for me to go back to England. 'I've been there for three and a half years again since then, so you can never say never, but the priority is for me to leave.' There is one club abroad that Eriksen won't join - Danish outfit Odense Boldklub, where he spent some years in his youth. Eriksen was spotted in Odense last week and was actually getting married to his long-term partner Sabrina Kvist Jensen, as per TV 2 Sport. But there was speculation that he could have been there to iron out a return to Odense - a proposition he has brutally shot down. 'I got it sent to me from someone who asked if I should return to OB. 'My good agent has also been out and about saying that I shouldn't. It's the football rumour mill. I hope no one has put money on it happening now, because then they'll lose.' Eriksen wrapped up his Old Trafford story with a penalty in the 2-0 win against Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season. While he did not go on to lift the Europa League, he appeared to feel nothing but gratitude to the club. He said: 'I've really enjoyed my time. It's a club I've always looked up to – the club size and everything around it. I've loved the pressure, loved the style of play with the different managers and the people at the club. 'I mean, they've taken really good care of me and my family, so in that sense I've had three very, very good years. Obviously it's been a lot of ups and downs in football, but I think in general I've had a special time.'
