Over €22k raised for family of mum who died in crash on Mother's Day

More than €22,000 has been raised for the family of a woman who died in a car crash on Mother's Day.
Susan O'Sullivan died when her vehicle collided with another car on the N72 Mallow-Killarney road on Sunday, March 30th.
She leaves behind her devastated husband Gavin, and their two children Mollie and Rowan, who were in the car on the day of the tragedy.
While they are recovering well, the children will need 'ongoing physical and psychological support in the weeks and months ahead, as they navigate life without their mom.'
'This Mother's Day, an unimaginable tragedy struck the O'Sullivan & Heelan family when Susan was taken from us in a devastating car accident,' the fundraiser page reads.
'Susan dedicated her life to caring for others as a social care worker. Her compassion touched the lives of everyone lucky enough to know her.
'She poured her heart into helping people in their most vulnerable moments. Now, it's our turn to give back.'
In the wake of their loss, her friends and family have come together to support her husband and children as they 'face the emotional and financial challenges of life without her.
'No family should have to navigate such grief while worrying about day-to-day expenses, funeral costs, or the future care and safety of the children,' the GoFundMe page continues.
'Susan gave so much of herself to others in her work but also as a mom. She would hate to see the burden Gavin is bearing now for their family.

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Boherbue on April 10th for her funeral mass where she was remembered as 'a very kind-hearted, cheerful and lovely person.'
'All of us are feeling completely gutted. It has been a very hard fortnight,' Parish Priest Fr Jim Kennelly told mourners.
'Last Sunday week when the news broke that Susan had died in a car accident, I think the whole parish went numb.
'When I heard the news I felt extremely sad, not just because she was a beautiful person but it was Mother's Day.'

A native of Listowel in north Kerry, Diane was close to her siblings, Eddie and Lorcan, who are still finding it difficult to come to terms with the loss of their loving sister. 'It hasn't hit us yet that she is dead. No family should have to go through what we are going through. It's tough. I'm sure when she is buried it will hit us the hardest,' Lorcan said. Diane Moloney 'Diane was the nicest person in the world. Myself and Eddie couldn't have asked for a better sister. Even though I am the eldest, Diane took control of everything and looked after us. She loved life and always had everything planned.' Diane turned 24 years old on May 22 and lived in Spain with her partner for the past three years. She taught in a local creche and was studying infant massage. Lorcan explains how he was talking with his sister on the phone the day before she died. She was happy and glad that he was planning a visit to see her and to celebrate her recent birthday. 'To get the news last Friday when the guards came to the house, it was a blow. The family thanked the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust for their support. Over €33,000 has so far been raised as part of the appeal. 'Without them we wouldn't know where we would be. For the help and support they have given us, we are extremely grateful. They are living saints,' he said. "We have a GoFundMe set up and the majority of that money is going back to the Kevin Bell Foundation, as they helped with everything. The rest will be for her funeral and collecting her belongings in Spain,' he said. Diane's family are glad that her remains are coming home and will be buried in the company of those who loved her. Lorcan thanked the people 'from the bottom of my heart' for donating money and their messages of support. 'All the local businesses have been great. The two I really want to thank is Urban Cuts and Strive Gym. Heartbreaking tributes pour in for young Irishwoman who died suddenly in Spain
Heartbreaking tributes have been paid to a young woman from Co Kerry who died suddenly in Spain. Diane Moloney, 24, originally from Stokers Grove in Listowel, passed away "unexpectedly on May 30", according to a death notice shared on "Diane will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken family, her mother Margaret, brothers Lorcan and Eddie, partner Tyrone, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends," the notice adds. Diane, who had just celebrated her 24th birthday on May 22, moved to Spain with her partner Tyrone three years ago and had been teaching in a local childcare facility. Following her unexpected passing, Diane's family launched a GoFundMe page to raise funds to bring her body home ahead of her funeral next week. The fundraiser was launched by her brother Lorcan, who paid tribute to Diane in a message shared on the GoFundMe page. He wrote: "Diane touched the hearts of everyone that she met in her short life with her beautiful smile, giggly laughter and always looking after her two brothers (even though I am the eldest one).
