Why is Paulton's Park good for younger children?
The Sun's Head of Travel (Digital), Caroline McGuire explains why Paultons Park is one of her favourite places for a family day out…
As a mum of a five year old, it's by far my favourite theme park and
the short queues are a huge part of that.
We didn't have any kind of queue jump pass and to be honest, we
never felt like we needed one.
A lot of the time, we'd wait about two minutes to get on a really great attraction - and that was on a weekend too, so it's great for youngsters with short attention spans.
Undoubtedly the big draw of the park is Peppa Pig World and everyone, myself included, heads straight there when they first arrive.
But I'd recommend getting out of there after a couple of rides and
checking out the rest of the park, where the attractions are just as good.
One of my favourite little details is that they have a load of those
very annoying stationary rides that you find outside supermarkets,
which your child will inevitably pester you to spend £3 on - but at
Paultons they're free!
My son rode a fire engine for about 40 minutes straight, so it's very easy to keep little ones entertained throughout the theme park.
Located at Paultons Park in Hampshire - which is home to more than 70 rides - the Peppa Pig store sells a selection of cuddly toys, action figures, sweets, and clothes.
Many visitors have raved about the shop on social media, which is decorated like a set from the hit TV series.

Clint Eastwood blasts Hollywood in bombshell interview… that he NEVER gave: Star slams Austrian paper over ‘phoney' Q&A
CLINT Eastwood has hit out at an Austrian newspaper for publishing a bombshell interview he claims he never even gave. The 95-year-old acting icon was directly quoted bashing Hollywood in the article - despite him now labelling the Q&A as "phoney". Advertisement 6 Clint Eastwood, 95, has hit out at the Austrian newspaper for the 'phoney' Q&A Credit: Getty 6 Eastwood in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in 1966 Credit: Alamy 6 The supposed interview was published in Kurier, a Vienna-based paper with around 100,000 readers Credit: Worldshop Despite his age meaning his career on the big screen has all but finished, Eastwood's name was brought up again after his comments on the state of the film industry went viral. Kurier, a Vienna-based paper with around 100,000 readers, published a major Q&A spread with the Dirty Harry star on Friday. The main takeaway from the supposed interview was just how much Eastwood despised how reliant Hollywood has become on sequels and franchises. One of Eastwood's responses to a journalist's question said: 'I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote movies like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot. Advertisement read more in Clint Eastwood "When everyone had a new idea. 'We live in an era of remakes and franchises. I've shot sequels three times, but I haven't been interested in that for a long while. "My philosophy is: do something new or stay at home.' The answer stirred up days of debates from film buffs who argued both sides of the fence. Advertisement Most read in Celebrity But Eastwood soon chimed in on the argument himself as he blasted the original interview as 'entirely phony". He claims he has never given those comments to Kurier and hasn't been interviewed by anyone in the past few weeks. Clint Eastwood attends the 20th Annual AFI awards The paper's editor has since conceded the quotes were in fact not from a formal interview with Eastwood who turned 95 last month. Instead, they were repackaged by a writer who had spoken to the actor at more than a dozen media events in the past. Advertisement Elisabeth Sereda, a US-based Austrian journalist, had 'convincingly explained" to editor Martin Gebhart that her and Eastwood have met on 18 occasions at round table media events. This meant the quotes were a compilation of statements made by the actor over the years. But Gebhart did admit that the way the article was presented as a tell-it-all exclusive chat went against his quality standards. He then said he will no longer work with the Sereda as of a result. Advertisement The story has also since been withdrawn from the paper's website entirely. Gebhart said: 'Even though no quotes were fabricated, the interviews are documented, and the accusation of fabrication can be refuted, we will no longer work with the author in the future ." Michael Schumacher fake AI interview torment MICHAEL Schumacher's family were paid £170,000 in compensation after a magazine published a fake AI-generated interview with the F1 racing legend. German publication Die Aktuelle claimed last April to have secured a 'world exclusive' with the severely injured Ferrari great – who has not been seen in public since his 2013 skiing accident. In a two-page spread, promoted with a picture of Schumacher, it claimed the seven-time F1 champ had said 'My life has totally changed'. It promised it was not a story based on "half-sentences from friends" but it's "the incredible interview" with the F1 star with "redeeming answers to the most burning questions that the whole world has been asking for so long." The rest of the article was written in Q&A form, with an AI chatbot designed to mimic celebrities making up the answers Michael would supposedly give. The bot even spoke about the racing hero's physical condition, family and future recovery prospects. Die Aktuelle only admitted the quotes, which used graphic details to describe his injuries, were written by a chatbot in a note on the inside pages. The shameless interview just goes to show how "poisoned" bots can be weaponised, an expert warned. Sereda is known for publishing celebrity based articles for Kurier and other Austrian media. She is also a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and listed as a voting member on the website of the Golden Globes. Advertisement After Eastwood's admission, Jude Law's team also made similar comments on Sereda's work. She had published an interview claiming to be from the English actor earlier this year. Sources close to Law said no interview has ever taken place and that the only time those direct quotes would have been made would have been at a press conference at the Toronto international film festival last year. Eastwood is still working as a director with his most recent movie being Juror #2 which was released in November last year. Advertisement He has long been an influential figure in Hollywood for bis longevity and ability. Since breaking through with the 1964 film of A Fistful of Dollars, Eastwood has continued as a leading man for decades. He has even received the ultimate honour as a director through two Academy Award's for best director with 1992's Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby in 2005. 6 Eastwood in 2019 Credit: Getty Advertisement 6 The acting legend in Dirty Harry Credit: Getty 6 In 2023, a German publisher claimed to have an exclusive interview with Michael Schumacher despite them using AI

Kids can visit much-loved Diggerland attraction for free this month – here's how
KIDS can get into the UK's only attraction with construction rides for free this June, with one simple trick. By purchasing a 30-day trial to DOWTK - a 'Day Out With The Kids' pass - for £1, kids can go to Advertisement 3 Kids can get into Diggerland for free with a 'Day Out With The Kids' pass Credit: Alamy 3 There are four Diggerland sites across the UK Credit: Alamy Diggerland is the only place in the UK where children can ride on real construction machinery like giant diggers and dumpers. In total, there are four locations across the UK - Kent, Devon, Yorkshire and Durham. After signing up to a DOWTK pass, members will get an instant, unlimited access to discounts. One pass covers an entire family and this isn't just limited to people with kids. Advertisement Read more on UK attractions The offer is valid for weekends throughout June and the offer permits one free child per visit, when accompanied with a full paying adult (£38). All visitors need to do is show they have a DOWTK pass when they arrive at their chosen Diggerland. Children can experience operating their own digger, hunt for buried treasure or head to tenpin-bowling with a twist. Each site also has a 'Dig Inn' cafe, serving up a range of dishes including all-day breakfast, burgers and hot dogs . Advertisement Most read in News Travel There is also a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as a small selection of Diggerland usually costs £25.95 per person when pre-booked online, with children under 100cm allowed to enter for free. Visit Diggerland UK to enjoy an exciting staycation in the beautiful Devonshire countryside Prices then rise to £38 per person when bought at arrival, with children under 100cm still allowed in for free. The pass also allows families discounts to other big attractions, including free entrance for children to Westminster Abbey, The Royal Mint Experience and Bolton Castle. Advertisement The pass also offers selected discounts off entry to certain attractions including 20 per cent off accommodation on short term breaks at Chessington World of Adventures and up to 45 per cent off gate prices at Other categories for offers include theatre shows, museums, dining, waterparks and cinemas. What is Diggerland like? THE Sun's head of travel, Caroline McGuire shares her thoughts on Diggerland. Walt Disney came up with a huge princess castle, rollercoasters and themed attractions. But just off the M2 in Rochester, some genius suggested sticking a bunch of construction vehicles in the mud at an industrial park - and it proved a blinding day out. At Diggerland, you can dig for mud, "gold bricks", stones or toy ducks in proper construction site machinery. Diggerland has to be seen to be believed - and even then it's quite hard to compute. We spent the day riding dumper trucks around a gravel pit, digging stones out of a hole with a full-sized digger and riding around a muddy concourse while seated in an enormous bucket. In fact, there are quite a few variations on each of those themes. You can dig for mud, "gold bricks", stones or toy ducks. You can drive a dumper, take a digger safari, ride backwards in a bucket carousel - somehow, they've made 20 different rides from machinery. If that doesn't suffice, there are also plenty of coin- operated (you've guessed it) car and digger rides dotted around the place. With the exception of a couple of car attractions, everything comes straight off a construction site, and if you know any young kids you'll know there lies the appeal. My son can spot a crane or a dumper truck from a mile off, so even watching others dig while waiting in the queue was mesmerising. Not that the queues were long - in fact, they were surprisingly short. The price is decent, too. Three adults and a child cost £91 in entry fees, so long as you pre-book tickets. Obviously all of the offers aren't just for families with children, several are suitable for adults like discounts off cinema tickets. Many offers are exclusive to the pass and there are also a number of competitions that can be entered like winning £10,000 worth of family holidays.
