Dubai Metro: Full list of updated vs old station names
The upcoming Blue Line, set to open in 2029, will add 14 stations to the network, bringing the total to 67 metro stations. It will feature 9 elevated stations and 5 underground stations, with a total length of 30 kilometres. The first station was named Emaar Properties.

Sheikh Khaled meets Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk
, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, on Friday met Russian President Vladimir Putin. Sheikh Khaled was in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed to attend the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting. The meeting brought together heads of state and governments from the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, chaired by President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus. The UAE was participating in the meeting as a guest of honour, at the invitation of the Belarusian President. Sheikh Khaled earlier on Friday met Mr Lukashenko as a trade agreement was reached between the UAE and Belarus, to usher in a "new era" of private-sector collaboration. The leaders witnessed the exchange of the trade in Services and Investment Agreement, which will expand access for UAE businesses in key areas such as finance, consulting, education and healthcare. Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation; Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince; Mariam Al Mheiri, Chairwoman of the Abu Dhabi Media Office and Adviser of Strategic Relations at the Crown Prince Court; and Ibrahim Al Musharrakh, UAE Ambassador to Belarus.

UAE: No free remittances for Emirates NBD customers from September
Emirates NBD on Friday said that it will implement a fee for international transfers made via the app or online banking. In an email sent to customers, the major bank said that starting September 1, 2025, customers will be charged Dh26.25 for remittances, including those done by DirectRemit. DirectRemit is a digital money transfer service that allows Emirates NBD customers to make remittances to India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt and the United Kingdom in less than 60 seconds. Remittances through this service are currently charged Dh0 in fees, as can be seen below: The bank will also be charging a fee for cancelling local or international transfers. Air Arabia launches its new route to Sochi in Russia
Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa's first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) operator, inaugurated its new route to the Russian city of Sochi with a frequency six weekly flights. The new service marks the sixth Russian city to be served directly from Sharjah, alongside Moscow, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, and Yekaterinburg, further expanding Air Arabia's network in the country. Commenting on the launch, Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said, "We are glad to inaugurate our non-stop flights to Sochi, further strengthening our connectivity with Russia.
