A Lakers split pair at Bozeman tourney

Jun. 22—BOZEMAN — Jake Hale tripled and drove in two runs as the Kalispell A Lakers downed the Wood River Spurs 13-3 before falling to the Bozeman A Bucks 8-0 Saturday at the Howard Rein Tournament at Heroes Park.
The Lakers (22-17) capitalized on four hit batsmen and an error to score six runs in the first inning of the first game. Hale extended the lead to 7-0 with his second inning triple to right.

Mason Lewis' two-run single spearheaded a five-run fourth, giving Kalispell a 13-0 advantage.
Beau McEwan went the distance for the Lakers, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out six.
Nolan Carden put the Spurs (6-4) on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI single, Wood River added runs on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly. The game ended after five innings due to the run rule.
In the Lakers' second game, Bozeman's Grayson Herz and Quade Schnabel drove in two runs each as the Bucks pulled away.
Herz tripled and Schnabel hit a two-RBI single in a six-run fourth inning as the Bucks (19-4) extended their lead to 7-0.

Wyatt Ford held the Lakers to two hits in a complete game; he fanned three. The game ended after five innings.
Liam Rech and George Schwan picked up the hits for Kalispell.
Bitterroot Red Sox 7, Glacier 6

HAMILTON — Jackson Lubke pounced on a wild pitch to score the winning run in game one, while the Red Sox exploded offensively in game two for a Saturday sweep over Glacier.
Nolan Amerman had a day at the plate in game one going 3-for-3 and driving in three runs; he crossed the plate three times also.
Amerman's double to left field helped the Twins (2-12) open up a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning. West Amerman brought Nolan Amerman home to make it 6-2 later in the frame.

Lubke started the comeback for the Red Sox (15-4) with a single in the bottom of the fifth; they tied the game at 6-6 two batters later as Reese Earp hit a three-run home run to left.
Lubke walked off the game with one out in the seventh as he came home on a wild pitch.
Trenton DeRosa went the distance on the mound for the Twins, scattering 11 hits and striking out three.
Lubke struck out 12 batters in 6 2-3 innings for the Red Sox. He allowed six runs on nine hits.
In game two, Lubke led the way at the plate for the Red Sox with four RBIs on a 2-for-4 performance. He also scored three runs.
Hunter Harness got Bitterroot off on the right foot with a two-run big fly to cap off a five-run first inning.

The Red Sox continued the offensive barrage with two more homers in a six-run fourth inning as Elijah McNair-Neal led off the frame with a solo shot. Lubke then bombed a three-run homer to extend the lead to 16-1.
Nolan Amerman drove in the lone run for the Twins with a solo home run to lead off the top of the fourth, the only hit for Glacier.
Mission Valley 8, Wenatchee Valley 7
LIBBY — Cole Wadsworth went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs as Mission Valley finished off a 3-0 showing at the Big Bucks Tournament with a win over Wenatchee Valley.
Wadsworth got the Mariners (11-10) on the board in the bottom of the second tying the game at two with a single to left that scored Noah Agliano and Aiden Gfroerer. Later in the inning, Cody Haggard gave them a 3-2 lead with a single, scoring Landon Pablo.

Agliano extended the Mariners' lead to 7-2 in the fourth bringing in three runs on a bases-clearing double.
But Wenatchee Valley (13-8-1) closed the deficit in the fifth getting three runs, including a two-run double from James Butler.
Haggard added an important insurance run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 8-5.
Another two-run single brought Wenatchee Valley within one at 8-7 and they had runners on second and third in the seventh before Pablo closed down the comeback on the mound.
Pablo threw one inning, allowing one hit. Haggard went six innings in the start, allowing seven runs on nine hits, he struck out three. At the plate Haggard went 3-for-3, plating a pair.

Mt. Spokane 14, Libby 0
Reece Chimienti struck out 12 and allowed just one hit as the Mt. Spokane Wild downed Libby at the Big Bucks Tournament.
Ben Wiser singled in the top of the first and — paired with an error — the Wild took a 3-0 lead. In all, Libby (9-20) committed 10 errors in the game.
Wiser singled again in the third to grow the lead to 4-0 for Mt. Spokane. Wiser finished the game 3-for-3 with three RBIs.
The Wild broke open the game in the top of the fifth with nine runs, sending 15 batters to the plate.
Chimienti shut down the Loggers' bats, allowing one hit while walking one and hitting two batters in the five-inning shutout. The game ended early due to the run rule.
Aidan Rose picked up the lone hit for Libby.
