Pennsylvania mom-of-four Uber driver filmed pleading for her life as evil passenger prepared to execute her
Horrifying dashcam footage captured the final moments of Pennsylvania Uber driver and mother-of-four as she pleaded for her life at gunpoint before being fatally shot by a passenger.
Calvin Crew, 25, was sentenced on Monday to life in prison without parole for the 2022 murder of Christi Spicuzza, 38, outside Pittsburgh.
Footage of the terrifying encounter begins with Spicuzza driving Crew, then 22, who is shown wearing a light-colored hoodie and a black mask covering all but his eyes.
Minutes into the ride, the video shows Crew grabbing Spicuzza's shoulder from the backseat and pressing a black handgun to the back of her head, demanding she 'keep driving.'
'You've got to be joking,' she says in disbelief.
As Crew grips her ponytail and tightens his hold, he says: 'This is a gun. Keep driving.'
'No it's not. Come on, I have a family, what are you doing? Please stop,' Spicuzza begs while flinching.
'Drive. Drive the car, miss,' he says, tugging her hair and pressing the gun to her neck.
'Why are you doing this?' she pleads.
'Drive the car,' Crew insists.
When she asks, 'To where?' he replies, 'Complete the trip.'
'I'm begging you,' Spicuzza says. 'I have four kids, what are you doing?'
'Complete it,' he repeats.
Spicuzza, now crying silently, continues driving. Crew then reaches forward, still holding the weapon to her neck, and snatches her phone from the dashboard.
'No,' she pleads as he places it in the backseat.
'Keep driving. If you drive safe everything will be alright,' Crew tells her.
Seconds later, the video abruptly ends as Crew notices and removes the dashboard camera.
What happened next remains unseen, but the ride ended with Spicuzza's brutal execution.
Crew, an ex-con who was released on a firearms charge just days before Spicuzza's murder, used his girlfriend Tanaya Mullen's phone to order the Uber to 139 Brinton Avenue in Pitcairn around 9:14 pm on February 11, 2022.
During the trip, Crew reportedly received a message from Mullen reading, '[I'm] not going to jail if we get caught,' according to court records.
Spicuzza's body was found on February 12, 2022, with a single gunshot wound to the back of her head in a wooded area near the 500 block of Rosecrest Drive and a 9mm casing lay nearby.
Her silver Nissan Sentra was found abandoned on Fourth Street in Pitcairn, her purse still inside and the dashboard camera missing.
Her fiancé, Brandon Marto, reported her missing on February 11 and posted a desperate plea on Facebook, saying, 'She NEVER NEVER EVER would leave her purse in the car... She ALWAYS checks in with me every hour.'
The recovered dashcam was found just a tenth of a mile from where she picked up Crew. Police retrieved video and audio from a mini SD in the camera, which recorded audio and video from the front and back of the car, court paperwork says.
He had been convicted in February 2025 of first-degree murder, kidnapping and robbery.
Although prosecutors sought the death penalty, Spicuzza's family asked that he be spared and the murderer was sentenced to life, with an additional 13 to 26 years for kidnapping and robbery charges.
'You should have the death penalty but we showed mercy,' Spicuzza's mother, Cindy Spicuzza, said. 'You executed her. No mercy, no remorse. It was abhorrent. It was murder.'
Crew was not in the courtroom for sentencing at his own request, and his defense attorney said his client maintains his innocence and plans to appeal, according to KDKA.
'No reason other than a coward. A coward who couldn't be here today to face this,' Marto said.

John Swinney to host THIRD summit on youth violence epidemic in Scotland
The move comes amid the Record's applauded youth violence campaign, Our Kids ... Our Future - launched two years ago after we highlighted a worrying trend. John Swinney is to host a third summit on an epidemic of youth violence in Scotland. The First Minister has announced that the latest event will take place on Thursday, June 12. It will include the Justice and Education secretaries, Ministers for Children and for Victims and Community Safety, cross-party MSPs, youth workers and community programmes. The move comes amid the Record's applauded youth violence campaign, Our Kids ... Our Future, which was launched two years ago after we highlighted a worrying trend of violence among teens. As part of the campaign, we have demanded the Scottish Government to invest in young people and in initiatives to prevent violence. Since its launch, we have reported on the untimely deaths of Kayden Moy, 16, Amen Teklay, 15, and Kayden Moy, 16. Three teenage boys, aged 14, 15, and 16 years old have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Amen, an Eritrean refugee, in Glasgow on March 5. In recent weeks, three teenage boys – a pair aged 17, and a 14-year-old – have appeared in court charged with the murder of Kayden, who was allegedly attacked on Irvine Beach, North Ayrshire, on May 17 and died in hospital. And just last month, a 14-year-old boy was sentenced to five years detention after admitting culpable homicide following the death of Kory at Glasgow's Greenfield Park on May 31 last year. Justice Secretary Angela Constance said: 'Scotland remains a safe place to live. 'But more needs to be done to change the attitudes and behaviours of some who are at risk of violence, or young people considering carrying a weapon. 'There is no place for violence in Scotland and anyone who commits a crime will face the consequences. 'Our work remains focused on ensuring our prevention and punishment measures respond to the changing behaviours of young people. This includes ensuring good school and community engagement with young people, appropriate police powers and tackling the root causes of violence. 'At this meeting we want to hear the views of the youth work and third sector representatives on what more, or different, can be done, within the current financial climate, to help address this issue. 'The role of youth work and grassroots community intervention is key. 'We all must work together to help young people feel safe and realise that carrying a knife is never the answer.' Two previous summits have been held on the topic in recent months, however, the events were later slammed as "nothing but talking shops" by campaigners. A monumental sit-down was secured with Swinney after 15-year-old Kaylynn Donald and her mum, Vicky, from Ladybank in Fife, wrote a letter to him following Kory's death last year. Kaylynn, who was battered on a bus on her way home from school in October 2022, demanded the First Minister to act urgently to prevent further tragedies. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! "Kayden Moy's death is not a tragedy - it's a failure."

Drummer of influential rock band faces sickening new charges in child pornography case
The former drummer of Canadian indie rock The New Pornographers band has been hit with more disturbing allegations in a child pornography case. Joe Seiders,44, was arrested in April after he was accused of recording an 11-year-old boy using the bathroom in a Chick-fil-A restaurant in California. Now, two more minors have come forward and slammed Seiders with more unsettling accusations. The drummer has been additionally charged with committing lewd acts with a minor by force or fear, using or coercing a minor to produce child pornography, possession of child pornography, annoying/molesting a child, and invasion of privacy. On Monday April 7 earlier this year, Seiders was accused of recording the young boy with his cell phone while he used the restroom of the Palm Desert Chick-fil-A. Then two days later, the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station received a second report at the same restaurant of a man following young boys in and out of the bathroom. When deputies arrived they found Seiders and he was arrested. After serving search warrants, the Sheriff's Office linked Seiders to both incidents alongside additional crimes, including child pornography. 'Evidence was located implicating him in the two reported incidents, along with additional crimes, including possessing child pornography,' the news release read. The New Pornographers has yet to address the new allegations against the drummer. Following Seiders' initial charges making headlines, his bandmates released a joint statement and said they have cut ties with the drummer. 'Everyone in the band is absolutely shocked, horrified, and devastated by the news of the charges against Joe Seiders — and we have immediately severed all ties with him,' they wrote in a joint Instagram post shared on Thursday. 'Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by his actions.' Seiders has been a part of the Canadian indie rock band since 2014. The group was first formed in 1997, and the current members are Neko Case, Carl Newman, John Collins, Todd Fancey and Kathryn Calder. Their former members include Destroyer frontman Dan Bejar and Grammy nominee Kurt Dahle. New Pornographers performed at Coachella in 2007 and 2011. When their longtime drummer Dahle left in 2014, he was replaced by Seiders. Seiders toured with the band and performed on their three most recent studio albums.

Scots gangster gunned down in Spanish assassination ‘was viewed as top dog by rival cartels'
RIVALS and allies saw slain Ross Monaghan as the Lyons gang's top man — and joked it should be called 'the Monaghan clan'. Insiders say the hood, 43, was instrumental in fostering relations with Kinahan crime-lords, with his links stretching back nearly a decade. 5 5 5 5 He was given power to make major calls on operations for the mob from his base in Spain. There were fears of further bloodshed following his assassination alongside Eddie Lyons Jr, 46, in Fuengirola last weekend. A source told The Scottish Sun on Sunday: 'Eddie's brother Steven is often seen as boss of the Lyons gang but, in reality, Ross Monaghan was on an equal footing. 'He sometimes made more big decisions to the point some joked it should be called the Monaghan gang instead of the Lyons. 'That's why his murder is so shocking. He was a significant figure for such a long time. 'Whoever is behind the killings would've known they were going after a guy at the very top. 'It has sent shockwaves through the underworld. Everyone is now nervous but nobody knows what's going to happen next.' The pair were gunned down after they'd watched the Champions League final at Monaghan's bar in the Costa Del Sol resort. He'd been drawn into a life of crime as a teen in the late '90s at a youth centre in Glasgow's Milton run by Eddie Lyons Sr, the dad of Eddie and Steven, 44. In 2012, Monaghan was cleared of murdering rival Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll, 29, who was gunned down in the city's Robroyston in 2010. Five years later he survived being shot as he dropped his kids off at school in Penilee. Graeme Pearson, former head of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, explained the incidents enhanced Monaghan's underworld reputation. He said: 'His group became known for extreme violence. 'Being acquitted from a murder trial through lack of evidence proved his bottle to the gang. 'Then he was shot and survived. It was part of his criminal CV. 'But people like Monaghan make enemies everywhere.' Kinahan UK chief meeting BY CHRIS TAYLOR ROSS Monaghan rubbed shoulders with the head of the Kinahan's UK operation, we can reveal. He met now jailed drug smuggler Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh as far back as 2016. Stephen Breen, crime editor at The Irish Sun, said: 'Ross Monaghan's name cropped up in terms of someone who had connections to him. 'It was all about the wholesale trafficking of drugs into the UK. 'The Kinahans have the capability to recruit individuals to wage war against their enemies. 'In any gangland feud, when you have one or two people killed, it's not the end.' The attempt on the gangster's life in January 2017 came just months after he'd fostered ties with the Kinahans, from Dublin, who made a fortune flooding Europe with drugs. Monaghan was brought into the fold as the Irish cartel's bosses — who have a £4million bounty on their heads in the US — looked to step up their activities in Britain. It's believed he was the main target of the hitman who blasted him and Lyons in front of terrified holidaymakers last Saturday. It's understood Spanish cops could know the shooter's identity but have not yet established which crew he was hired by. Scots Tories leader Russell Findlay was an investigative crime reporter before he entered politics and covered the Gerbil murder trial. He remembers Monaghan as he made his bid to dupe jurors and the public into believing that he was a 'smart, besuited and respectable young man'. But Mr Findlay added: 'It was fiction. He was a dangerous, drug-dealing, gangland thug.' On Friday a group of protestors, including dozens of UK expats, held up banners in Fuengirola as they called for a crackdown on organised crime in the area. They demanded that local politicians take action and put more police on the streets following a spate of gang-related shootings that included the savage murders of Monaghan and Lyons.
