Jaya Bachchan
is now known for being quite stern and disciplined but for her fans, she continues to remain 'Guddi' over the years. She's also known for her wit and sharp sense of humour, for always saying what she feels like.
An old interview of Jaya Bachchan from the premiere of 'Agneepath' in Kolkata has now gone viral. The actress had accompanied
Amitabh Bachchan
, Mithun Chakraboraty and other cast members for the premiere.
Shockingly, the entire cast and crew came for the event in a bus and it reminded fans of the simpler times. In this video shared by Lehren, she can be heard saying, "Pata nhi ye picture apne kitni door tak dekhi hai ya kitni der tak dekhi hai. Iss film mein ek scene hai jahan Krishnan Iyer (played by
Mithun Chakraborty
) ek chote bachche ko lekar aate hai ki ye humara family ka bachcha hai aur …mera dil aap sab se kehne ko chaah raha hai ke aaj se main Mithun ko apne family ka baccha maanti hu."
This left Mithun Chakraborty laughing and Amitabh Bachchan shocked. Big B reacted to it and said, "Mujhe bas itna hi kehna hai ke yeh kehne se pehle humse toh puch liya hota."
The audience began laughing on hearing this. 'Agneepath' is considered one of the most iconic movies of Amitabh Bachchan with him playing the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The film has remained quite iconic over the years and was also remade with Hrithik Roshan getting into the shoes of Bachchan. The 1990 original film was directed by Mukul Anand and also starred Danny Denzongpa, Neelam and others apart from Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty.

Thug Life box office collection day 2: Kamal Haasan film sees big drop, Hindi version wiped out by Housefull 5

Thug Life box office collection day 2: Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's much-hyped reunion after 37 years has not quite panned out the way the two stalwarts would have hoped for. Thug Life, their new film, has opened to lukewarm reviews and is not faring too well at the box office. On Friday, the second day of its release, the film saw a major drop. (Also read: Mani Ratnam fans get nostalgic for Nayakan, Thalapathi, Guru after lukewarm response to Thug Life) According to Sacnilk, Thug Life earned ₹7.50 crore in all languages on Friday, a steep 55% drop from its opening day figure of ₹15.50 crore. This takes its two-day India total to ₹23 crore. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar's comedy Housefull 5, which released on Friday, earned that much on its opening day itself. The release of Housefull 5 was also detrimental to Thug Life's business in the Hindi-speaking regions. Billed as a pan-India film, Thug Life was heavily marketed in the north as well. However, it opened its Hindi business at a paltry ₹65 lakh. Trade insiders predict the number for day 2 to be somewhere in the ₹25-30 lakh range. This means that Thug Life may struggle to even reach ₹5 crore net in Hindi in its lifetime, a rather disappointing figure for a star of Kamal Haasan's stature. But Thug Life is not doing too great in Tamil either. Its ₹23-crore two-day haul is far below Kamal Haasan's last box office hit, Vikram. The Lokesh Kanagaraj film had earned ₹60 crore net in its first two days upon release in 2022. Even Indian 2, the box office disappointment that was released last year, had fared better, netting ₹44 crore in its first two days at the ticket window. Clearly, Thug Life has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to stay afloat. Thug Life has notably suffered due to a non-release in Karnataka following Kamal Haasan's controversial statement on the Kannada language. Thug Life also features Trisha, Silambarasan, Joju George, Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Abhirami and others. The music for the film is by maestro AR Rahman while the cinematographer is Ravi K Chandran and editor is A Sreekar Prasad.

Was Deepika Padukone ousted for demanding 10% profit share, ₹25 cr for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit? New claims emerge

After Deepika Padukone's exit from Spirit, many narratives emerged on why she is no longer a part of the film. Now, News18, citing its source, has reported that Deepika had "demanded ₹25 crore for approximately 35 days of shoot, along with a 10% profit share" to be a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. As per the report, Deepika had expressed her unwillingness to deliver dialogues in Telugu, "something the director felt strongly about". (Also Read | Deepika Padukone-Sandeep Reddy Vanga row explained: Mudslinging & angry tweets over Triptii Dimri replacing DP in Spirit) Reportedly, Deepika also asked for "extensive entourage expenses". 'The actor had reportedly demanded ₹25 crores for approximately 35 days of shoot, along with a 10% profit share, extensive entourage expenses, and even expressed unwillingness to deliver dialogues in Telugu—something the director felt strongly about. To top it off, confidential plot details from Spirit were allegedly leaked, which raised serious concerns among the producers," the source told News18. Sandeep, according to the report, "believes actors speaking their own lines". 'Contrary to speculation, her restricted filming schedule of under 8 hours a day was never the primary issue. In filmmaking, working hours are fluid and depend on location, lighting, and various technical factors. You could shoot for 2 hours or 8, depending on the scene. What truly matters is flexibility, collaboration, and respect for the craft. It's about commitment. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga believes actors speaking their own lines builds authenticity and emotional connect with the audience," the source added. Last month, Deepika exited the film, and Triptii Dimri replaced her. Following that, Sandeep shared a scathing post seemingly criticising Deepika for 'ousting' the script of his next film, Spirit. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sandeep didn't name anyone, but appeared to have slammed Deepika for "dirty PR games" and "putting down a younger actor". His post came after a Pinkvilla report shared details about Spirit's story. Deepika, who recently embraced motherhood, reportedly stipulated that she would not work more than eight hours a day during the shoot so that she could be with her daughter, Dua. However, her demands weren't met, and she exited the film. The actor had received widespread support online after initial reports called the demands 'unprofessional'. Spirit, which stars Prabhas in the lead role, is set to go on floors soon. It is produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures.
