Enzo Millot scored twice and Germany forward Nick Woltemade and Deniz Undav got the others as Stuttgart claimed their fourth German Cup win and the first since 1997.
Bielefeld, the third-division champion, were playing in the final for the first time as only the fourth representative from that division to ever reach German soccer's end-of-season showpiece.
But there was no fairytale ending for the team's American captain, Mael Corboz, after he helped the team knock out defending champion Bayer Leverkusen in the semifinals and a host of Bundesliga clubs en route to the final.
Substitute Julian Kania scored a late consolation goal, a minute before Josha Vagnoman's own goal, to get the Bielefeld fans singing again before the end.
Both sets of supporters displayed huge choreographies before the match in front of 74,000 spectators at Berlin's Olympiastadion, where they repeatedly ignored appeals to stop setting off pyrotechnics.

Ronaldo fires Portugal into Nations League final
MUNICH: Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner as Portugal fought back to beat Germany 2-1 on Wednesday, with the 40-year-old bagging his 137th international goal to send them into the Nations League final. It was Portugal's first win over Germany since 2000 with Ronaldo's goal earning them a spot in their second Nations League final, after winning the inaugural edition in 2019. Spain and France will clash in the other semifinal on Thursday to decide who will face Portugal in the decider on Sunday. Germany dominated the first half, but it remained goalless thanks to the heroics of Portugal keeper Diogo Costa. The shotstopper made an excellent start to the first half, keeping out a low shot from Germany's Leon Goretzka after four minutes with a strong save. Costa came to Portugal's rescue again with an incredible save from Nick Woltemade's close-range effort and two minutes later, he produced another quick reaction stop, diving low to tip away another attempt from Goretzka. Germany took the lead in the 48th minute, as Florian Wirtz headed in unmarked in the box, following a pinpoint lobbed pass from Joshua Kimmich. However, Portugal turned the match around, first equalizing through substitute Francisco Conceicao in the 63rd minute, before Ronaldo tapped in five minutes later after Nuno Mendes teed him up. For Conceicao, the win carried extra significance, as his father Sergio scored a hat-trick the last time Portugal beat Germany — at the European Championship in 2000. 'We need to enjoy the victory — we won for the first time in a while against Germany. Tactically we were exceptional and our commitment helped... it was a team victory,' Portugal coach Roberto Martinez said. 'Now we can recover and evaluate,' he added. 'We want another performance with personality in this shirt.' Germany looked to shift the momentum when substitute Karim Adeyemi unleashed a powerful rising strike with his left foot, only to see it crash against the outside of Costa's right-hand post. Portugal could have grabbed a third goal very late in the match but Germany keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen stretched impressively to perform a double save. It was a disappointing 100th appearance for Germany captain Kimmich. 'The defeat is absolutely deserved. We weren't playing well enough in the first half. After going 1-0 up, nothing came of it in the second half,' he told reporters. 'We have to learn from this. If we're not at 100 percent, we can't beat a top European team. Today was one of our worst games, purely based on our performance.'

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes rejects $135m Al-Hilal transfer deal, UK media reports
BEIRUT: Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to sign for Saudi Pro League powerhouses Al-Hilal, for 'family and personal' reasons. Though there had been no official word from Al-Hilal about any approach to the player, several British media outlets reported on Tuesday that the 30-year-old rejected a massive deal said to be worth £80 million-£100 million ($108 million-$135 million). BBC Sport said the Portuguese midfielder spent the past few days 'seriously' considering an offer that would have more than doubled what he earns at Old Trafford, where he is already one of the top earners. Having discussed the deal with his family, however, Fernandes told the Saudi club he would not be joining them. Portugal were preparing on Tuesday for their Nation League semifinal against Germany on Wednesday, and with Fernandes expected to participate in the prematch press conference in Munich, it was thought the question of Al-Hilal's interest in him might be raised. Man United were said to be thrilled and relieved by his decision to stay with the club. Head coach Ruben Amorim had said last week that he believed his captain would remain at Old Trafford for the forseeable future. According to the British media reports, there was no direct communication between the two clubs, so United were never presented with any official offer from Al-Hilal that they could turn down. However, the stories suggested the Saudi side were willing to offer Fernandes up to £100 million to sign in time for the FIFA Club World Cup, while will take place in the US between June 14 and July 13. The Mirror newspaper quoted former United star Rio Ferdinand as saying he was delighted that Fernandes decided to remain in England. 'I've got to be honest (it's) the biggest news for me today,' Ferdinand reportedly said on his podcast. Sky Sports said that Al-Hilal offered Fernandes £100 million to join and were willing to almost treble his £250,000-a-week wages, and his decision to turn them down was thought to be both a football and personal one. It was also reported that the player's agent, Miguel Pinho, had visited Riyadh for talks with senior Al-Hilal executives but this could not be independently confirmed. said Fernandes rejected an 'eye-watering' £700,000-a-week move after discussing it with his family and coach. Former United right-back Gary Neville told Sky Sports the transfer would not have been a bad deal, financially, for the Old Trafford club but added: 'He's so important. The fact that he wants to stay, the fact that he wants to go through this and come out the other side — because it would have been easy for him at the end of this season to say, 'Look, I'm done here' — will endear him towards Manchester United fans even more.' Al-Hilal often shares important news through the club's account on social media platform X but there had been no mention of any potential offer to Fernandes.

PSG's Champions League hero Doue says ‘dream becomes reality'
MUNICH, Germany: Paris Saint-Germain's double goal-scoring hero Desire Doue said 'a dream has become reality' after Saturday's Champions League triumph. The 19-year-old lit up Munich's Allianz Arena, scoring twice and providing an assist as PSG routed Inter Milan 5-0. 'I don't have the words,' said the French teenager. 'Thanks to the Parc (des Princes, PSG's home stadium), thanks Paris. 'A dream has become reality. It's just magnificent. It's crazy, I'm so happy. 'It's just the beginning.' PSG have been guided to the continental crown for the first time in their history by Spanish coach Luis Enrique. 'It's time to have a big party,' said Luis Enrique, who also won the Champions League with Barcelona 10 years ago. 'We have to make the most of this moment,' added the 55-year-old. 'I feel this connection with the players and the supporters, it's very strong. It's a great moment, we deserve it. We managed to control the tension.' Unruly fans held back Thousands of euphoric PSG fans had to be held back by a line of police they tried to rush the field in jubilation. Police lined up in front of the PSG end of the Allianz Arena stadium at the final whistle but struggled to contain the fans for several minutes when they came down from the stands following the trophy presentation. They did eventually manage to force them back into the stands, and PSG players had already headed back to the locker room, appearing to cut short celebrations in front of their supporters. Players eventually made their way back to the field with the trophy after order was restored. PSG fans dominated the occasion, drowning out Inter supporters, many of whom had left long before the final whistle after seeing their team blown away by the French champion.
