Lady Gabriella Windsor has praised the the Princess of Wales for her "very thoughtful" gesture following the death of Lady Windsor's husband Thomas Kingston.
Lady Windsor, fondly known as Ella, suffered the loss of Mr Kingston, who in February last year was found dead with a "traumatic head wound" and a gun near his body in an outbuilding of his parents' Cotswolds home. In the following months, the Princess of Wales supported Ella, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and invited the 45-year-old woman to advise on her Together At Christmas carol service last year.
"It was such an honour to be involved, and very thoughtful and kind-hearted of the Princess to include me [in the carol concert]," Lady Windsor told HELLO! magazine this week.
"I was very touched. She was so lovely to work with, always gracious, very creative and with so much vision and passion for the many charities and causes she supports."
Ella, who is King Charles ' second cousin, described the annual Christmas gathering as a "brilliant idea". She told HELLO!: "The Princess's carol concert is such a brilliant event and idea, to thank and shine a light on hundreds of the most outstanding charities in the UK."
In December, Lady Windsor, who is a singer and songwriter, warned about the effects of drugs used to treat mental health problems as a coroner ruled her husband stopped taking his medication in the days leading to his death. The coroner ruled Mr Kingston's death was that of suicide.
Since her grief, the royal has also been using music to inspire young people and as a tool to help others. She became patron of the charity Restore The Music, which supports state school music departments. Some of its musicians performed at the Princess of Wales's concert last December.
"Music can do so much to help build confidence, imagination and social skills - all of which are, I believe, essential to learning," said Lady Windsor in a statement on the Restore The Music website.
"On a recent visit to a school served by Restore the Music I was dazzled by the student performances, Rachmaninoff on piano, jazz saxophone, drums and Spanish guitar. They transported us to another place - far from a school classroom.
"What a stunning snapshot of talent, teaching and world class instruments, funded by Restore the Music. It is such an honour to serve as Patron to this exceptional charity which creates opportunities for children to thrive through the power of music."
Lady Windsor is the King's second cousin. They are both great-grandchildren of King George V.

Prince Andrew looked to be in high spirits as he joined his late mother's long-standing stud groom Terry Pendry for a horse ride around Windsor today. The King's younger brother, 65, beamed in excitement as he sported riding gear, including a helmet and gloves, along with a khaki jacket this afternoon. Alongside him was Mr Pendry, who rode with Queen Elizabeth for 28 years and was one of her most loved and trusted servants. It comes amid a tumultuous time for Charles's brother, after Virginia Giuffre 's lawyer demanded an apology from Andrew in the wake of her death - after her family revealed she was prevented from seeing her children for months before she died. Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored in April, David Boies said the Prince had to take responsibility and even went on to request King Charles to intervene. 'I'd like to have him say, "I'm sorry", he sort of said that, but I'd like him to be more direct about that,' the acclaimed American attorney said defiantly on the talk show. 'I'd like him to say, even if he doesn't remember what happened, I think he needs to recognise that he had, he clearly had sex with young girls, with Jeffrey Epstein. 'I mean, he may not remember that it was Virginia, but he can't forget the event. And he needs to just come clean.' Virginia claimed Jeffrey Epstein and former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell kept her as a sex slave, flying her around the world for sex with powerful associates. She later accused the Duke of York of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 after she was trafficked to London. It led to him 'stepping back' from public life in 2019. He has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing. She then launched a civil lawsuit, alleging she was coerced into having sex with him. In 2022 the Duke agreed an out-of-court settlement – thought to be between £3 million and £12 million – despite denying he sexually abused her. The mother-of-three was found dead at her farm near Perth, Australia, on April 25, in what was believed to have been a suicide. Following her sudden death at the age of 41, Boies said: 'It's just a question of taking responsibility, accepting responsibility for what happened. Maybe he has a version of what happened, but he can't deny that he was with her. 'I mean, you've got the photograph, you've got the testimony from other people. Continuing to deny he didn't know her, he never met her, he had nothing to do with her. That's not productive. It's also not right. 'I think that he needs to take responsibility for what he did. Virginia was always more interested in fighting the sin than attacking the sinner, and I think that she would have accepted Prince Andrew taking responsibility, and would have recognised that. 'And I think that it's not too late. It's never too late… If he wants redemption, if he wants forgiveness, he's got to take responsibility for what happened. 'He came pretty close in that statement. It was a step in the right direction. And I think I hoped, and I think Virginia hoped, that he would take the next step as well. I have been through hell and back in my 41 years but this is incredibly hurting me worse than anything else. Hurt me, abuse me but don't take my babies. My heart is shattered and every day that passes my sadness only deepens.' Following her death, Boies told Piers Morgan: 'She was an extraordinarily strong woman, ultimately brought down by years of abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein and then later years of verbal abuse and attacks by [his] collaborators, but she accomplished a great deal without her courage and without her coming forward, Jeffrey Epstein would probably still be abusing young girls'.

Family pay tribute to bubbly hospital radio volunteer Brenda
Brenda Jones (née Pink) died at Glan Clwyd Hospital, aged 91, on March 23 after a short illness. Brenda, of Rhyl, was married to the late Joseph (Joe) Jones, who died in May 2024. The couple had three children: Stephen, Leslie, and Caroline. Brenda with husband Joe (Image: Submitted by family) Brenda, a cherished granny to Jazmin, Tabitha, Sophie, and Saffron, was one of identical twins, alongside her sister Elsie. The sisters were born into a showbiz family. Their father, Stanley Wilson Pink, worked for 20th Century Fox in Manchester as a film distributor, organising film premieres for cinemas and meeting many film stars of the day - including Shirley Temple, Jimmy Clitheroe, and Frankie Howerd. Brenda and Elsie collected autographs from the celebrities they met through their father. Sadly, Stanley passed away from cancer at a young age, and the family moved to Prestatyn. Brenda and Joe married in 1954 and moved to Wrexham, where Joe worked. Joe worked for Midland Bank, and Brenda worked for Monsanto. After their first two children were born, the family moved to Rhyl where Brenda and Joe ran a newsagents on Vale Road for five years called J&B's. Joe went on to work for the local council, while Brenda began working at Rhyl Sports Centre - first in the café, then the ticket office, and eventually as PA to the centre manager, before retiring. Brenda began volunteering at Glan Clwyd Radio in June 2000 and quickly became a beloved part of the radio family. Leslie said: "After joining the committee and then later on, as press officer, she had her own show every Wednesday morning playing some of her favourite music from show, stage and screen for patients and staff in the hospital. She was a big fan of stage shows such as Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music and Mamma Mia. She used to get press invitations to see shows at both Rhyl Pavilion and Venue Cymru Llandudno including the annual Christmas pantomimes and UK touring companies. She reviewed these and helped promote them for the theatres. "She would often invite celebrities, actors and singers who would be performing in the various shows and pantomimes onto her radio show. She was very experienced at interviewing and getting them involved in the show. "She also invited local MP's and councillors to guest on her show asking them to pick their favourite pieces of music to play." Brenda also ran regular competitions to win theatre tickets and hosted ward bingo nights and quizzes for the benefit of patients. She was recognised three times for her contribution to the community through her work with Glan Clwyd Hospital Radio. RELATED NEWS "In 2011, mum was nominated to go the Queen's Garden Party at the Palace," Leslie said. "Caroline accompanied her and they both had a fabulous day. "In 2018, Caroline nominated mum for a show called 'Jane and friends'. "Jane McDonald was mum's favourite singer. She surprised mum at the studio, needless to say there were tears, but they both had a fantastic morning on the 'Brenda and Jane show' and then appearing on the Channel 5 television show afterwards." MORE NEWS In 2023, Brenda was made a Patron of Glan Clwyd Radio in recognition of her 23 years of volunteering and fundraising at a celebration party organised by her colleagues at the station. Speaking about her personality, Leslie said: "Mum was always smiling, had a great sense of fun, and a bubbly personality. She gave so much of herself to her family and community. "She was a remarkably selfless lady who leaves behind so many wonderful memories for all who knew her." Brenda loved meeting stars of stage and screen whenever she had the chance. Her musician son, Steven (Steve), who composed and performed for various shows over the years, always tried to involve Brenda and Joe in the social side of his work. Leslie said: "Through pantos in Rhyl, Carlisle and New Brighton, mum met so many stars. Steve would often leave her while he went to the bar only to return to find mum chatting to Dean Sullivan from Brookside or Su Pollard from Hi-de-Hi! "Mum would be in her element."
