Mum who trashed Turkey hotel room is slammed in scathing statement by resort

Georgia Harrison was arrested with her partner on May 7 after allegedly trying to leave the Lexia Hotel in Antalya without declaring the damage. A mum who confessed to wrecking a hotel room in Turkey during a drunken mishap has attracted criticism from the resort, which has condemned her actions stating that the room was left "unusable" and has circulated photos displaying the extent of the destruction. Georgia Harrison found herself in hot water when she and her companion were apprehended on May 7 for attempting to vacate the Lexia Hotel in Antalya without reporting the damage inflicted. ‌ In an appeal for funds on GoFundMe, she acknowledged: "I got drunk and I have somehow smashed the shower screen of the hotel room and damaged the room. [It was the] worst mistake of my life. Anyway it's done, I can't change it but wow am I paying for it." ‌ The 32 year old says she was imprisoned in a Turkish cell crammed with "hundreds of men" after celebrating her boyfriend's dental work, as per her statement, and spent several days detained. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, she was then presented with a demanding £15,000 invoice by a judge and is currently prohibited from departing Turkey until the payment is settled with the hotel for the damages incurred. In retaliation to what they describe as "one-sided" media coverage of the event, the hotel has released an official statement accompanied by photographs revealing just how severe the couple's room was damaged, reports the Mirror. She has strived to annul the fine with the support of international legal advisors but expressed worries about potentially being swindled by whom she perceives as corrupt lawyers and translators. However, the hotel 's account differed, stating that the shower cabin was "completely broken", the LCD television had been "removed and rendered unusable", and the outer window of the room had been "broken by an object thrown from inside". Additionally, two single beds had been "separated and rendered unusable". The hotel also claimed that bed sheets and towel sets had been "rendered unusable" and that there were "traces of drinks and food" on the ceiling and walls. "The furniture and items used in our rooms are specially designed, and the repair process took approximately one month," they stated. ‌ The hotel explained on their website that "According to the proforma invoices received from the company that built our hotel, the cost of the damages was requested from the guests". They maintained that their goal was to act "'within the framework of justice and transparency. You can examine the photos below to reflect the truth against one-sided narratives. As stated by our guests themselves, our guests left the hotel room unusable," and invited readers to examine the accompanying photos. ‌ They continued: "As can be seen in the attached images, the shower cabin of our room was completely broken, our LCD television was removed and rendered unusable, the outer window of the room was broken by an object thrown from inside, two separate single beds used as a double bed were broken, separated, and rendered unusable, the minibar that we provide in the rooms as standard was broken and rendered unusable, wall-mounted objects and lighting systems used in the room were removed and rendered unusable, the bed linen and towel sets in our rooms were left unusable, there were traces of various drinks and food on the ceiling and side walls of the room, and the room had to be completely painted. "The furniture, add-ons, and all kinds of items used in our rooms are specially designed, and within this scope, the repair of our room took approximately one month. ‌ "We would also like to state that our room could not be sold to customers for one month, and our facility suffered financial damage in this regard. The proforma invoices received from the company that built our hotel are also shared as an image in the attachment, and we have requested the balance in the proforma invoices from the customers." Since the incident, Georgia has been stranded in Turkey, unable to return home to her 12 year old daughter. "I know I did wrong and I regret being so stupid to have damaged the hotel, but I need to get home to my daughter," she penned in a post on GoFundMe. "I'm sorry I was scared and I just tried to get away from it by trying to leave. Yes it was the wrong thing to do, but I was scared and not thinking straight. "Maybe if I didn't, I wouldn't be in this mess. I know only I am to blame and my actions are the reason I cannot see my daughter."

Huge EastEnders twist as character uncovers a brutal murder

Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) has opened up about her brother Keanu's (Danny Walters) shocking murder in EastEnders. That's right – we're harking back to Christmas 2023 and the storyline that dominated the next twelve months worth of storylines. If you need a quick refresher, here goes… Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) all found themselves complicit in a gruesome death. Linda fatally stabbed Keanu with a meat thermometer as he was throttling Sharon. Just minutes before, Denise had hit Nish over the head with a bottle when he lunged towards Suki. A number of locals then found out, including Linda's son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), and twisted Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) eventually took responsibility for the crime in the month prior to his death. One of the last Walford residents to learn the ghastly truth was Bernie, who was horrified to know she'd been working in the cafe just metres from her brother's corpse. Now, ahead of her exit, she's come clean to cousin Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison) about what happened. It comes as her plot to scam the Panesar family out of thousands was exposed to Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) in the first of tonight's two instalments. She became desperate for cash herself, and after her suspicions were piqued, she stole Bernie's laptop and uncovered the crime. Bernie agreed to her blackmail deal – half of the money in exchange for her silence. But she knew her time was running out, and urged Felix to start a new life in Spain with her. She also hoped this would influence his future with Johnny. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? Felix was stunned by her revelations, but even more so that she would dare mess with the fearsome Panesar clan. Little did he realise, she'd thought up a plan. More Trending Vicki had told her aunt Kathy about her sudden windfall, and she rushed to tell her 'Six' co-conspirator Suki. In turn, Suki told her step-son Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) what was happening and he demanded an audience with Bernie. She sat down, and made a brutal and damning lie – Vicki is the one stealing.
