York Eyecatcher Bermuda Longtail can soar in future
Andrew Balding's bay was beaten just half a length under William Buick at 16-1, finding only Jane Chapple-Hyam's Kon Tiki too good on the Knavesmire.
That filly was at one stage a 1000 Guineas possible and may ultimately be Falmouth Stakes-bound so is clearly well regarded, with Bermuda Longtail therefore acquitting herself well on her turf debut after three encouraging runs on the all-weather.

Kieran Tierney bids emotional farewell to Arsenal before Celtic return as gutted fans insist ‘you deserved so much more'
Some Gunners fans have been left gutted by his desparture TIERING UP Kieran Tierney bids emotional farewell to Arsenal before Celtic return as gutted fans insist 'you deserved so much more' KIERAN TIERNEY'S exit from Arsenal hasn't exactly been a secret. But that hasn't stopped an outpouring of disappointment from Gunners fans after the Celtic-bound defender's time at the Emirates Stadium was officially confirmed. Advertisement 2 Kieran Tierney scored on his final Arsenal appearance Credit: AFP 2 He will soon be wearing Celtic colours once again Credit: Alamy Live News Tierney, 27, joined Arsenal in a then-Scottish record transfer from Celtic with the Premier League giants shelling out £25million. The Scotland international became a popular figure in North London and went on to play 144 times for the club across all competitions. The 2022/23 campaign proved to be a frustrating one with Tierney struggling for game time following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko and he spend the following season on loan at Real Sociedad. He returned to Arsenal but had to wait until late November to get back on the pitch after suffering a horror hamstring injury at Euro 2024. Advertisement Despite returning to fitness, he was largely restricted to substitute appearances. Tierney signed off as a Gunners player by scoring on the final day of the league season in a 2-1 win over Southampton. SunSport exclusively revealed first back in December that Celtic wanted Tierney back and that free transfer will be completed this summer when he officially becomes a free agent. That will happen when his Arsenal contract expires on June 30, with the club finally confirming he's on the way out. Advertisement Arsenal bid farewell to the popular defender with a couple of videos on social media. One of those featured Tierney delivering a goodbye message to the Arsenal fans. Brendan Rodgers CONFIRMS Kieran Tierney's Celtic return and says goodbye to Alex Valle The emotional star said: "Just thank you for everything from day one. "They supported us through the good times and the bad, and they supported me through some hard times as well. Advertisement "I think that's what I'm most grateful for, the times where it wasn't so good or so easy for me is when they probably supported me most, so I'm just very grateful and I feel very lucky to have the support from them. "I feel so lucky that I've played for this club and the love that the supporters have given me has been amazing. "I've loved every day here and I've learned so much, I've improved so much and I just feel very lucky." The second video was a compilation of Tierney's highlights at the club and it seems like it was all too much for a number of gutted Arsenal fans to take. Advertisement One replied: "Stop it now." A second posted: "I'm not good right now, someone hand me a tissue." A third commented: "He understood." Another gutted fan said: "I am so very unwell with this." Advertisement Several other Arsenal supporters vented their frustration at the fact Tierney wasn't given a bigger role in the latter stages of his time at the club. Many commented that he should have been made captain, while others reckon he deserved more than he got. One Gunners fan said: "One of my favourite players, should have been more appreciated and stayed longer." Another posted: "The shining light in the dark days, always gave 100 per-cent." Advertisement A third said: "Gonna miss that tucked short sleeved shirt coming from the left hand side. Thank you for everything, KT. You deserve so much more." A fourth posted: "In another timeline, he lifted the Prem as captain." Another baffled fan said: "I don't understand why we are letting him go." A further comment blasted: "What a waste of everyone's time. He was captain material and we skewered him for no reason." Advertisement While another said: "Too good to be leaving Arsenal, you'll do well wherever you go, KT." Another Arsenal fan added: "He deserved more. Good luck in the future." Tierney goals were a thing of rarity at Arsenal but one of his strikes certainly lives strong in the fans' memories. He scored a stunning goal - the only one of the game - as they beat West Brom 1-0 in a tricky away clash in January 2021. Advertisement It was a match held in rather heavy snow. Spotting the goal among the highlights reel, one fan said: "We'll never forget him balling out in the snow in a short sleeve shirt. Will always be a Gunner." Another posted: "Never forget that incredible goal against West Brom in the snow. Have a blast at Celtic Kieran! We will miss you." A third commented: "The snow goal will forever be iconic. Our KT, King in the North!" Advertisement Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Awesome £650,000 horse with ‘a hell of an engine' instantly made Royal Ascot favourite after astonishing debut
They couldn't cut her price fast enough 'WOW!' Awesome £650,000 horse with 'a hell of an engine' instantly made Royal Ascot favourite after astonishing debut THIS awesome £650,000 horse with 'a hell of an engine' was instantly made a Royal Ascot favourite after an astonishing debut. Word had been strong for Karl Burke's Wathnan-owned two-year-old filly Zelaina ahead of her bow over 5f at Nottingham. 1 Zelaina was instantly made a Royal Ascot favourite after absolutely blistering debut at Nottingham Credit: Getty But even jockey James Doyle was taken aback by the ease with which she obliterated rivals after bursting out the gates. Making all, she sauntered over the line ahead of 4-1 Secret Oath, the three-quarter length margin of victory flattering the runner-up. Punters branded the breeze-up buy an 'absolute weapon' and said she was 'the one we were waiting for' - as bookies immediately made her favourite for the Queen Mary. Burke and Doyle teamed up to win it with Leovanni last year. And Zelaina is now Ascot-bound for the Group 2 on Wednesday, the second day of the five-day festival. Clearly buzzing afterwards, Wathnan's retained rider Doyle said: "She'd been doing the right things at home. "She wasn't 100 per cent coming here, she's a had a couple of things that meant she needed an easy time. "But Karl said she's very fast and she's shown she has an engine. "She caught me by surprise out the gates - then up into that stride and away she went. "She's quite hot so we'll do a few things to iron that out ahead of Ascot. "But she's got a hell of a big engine and a plenty of pace. "I was the last person to pull up but she just stood so I let her relax then just trotted her back. "She took quite a blow at the furlong pole but I expect her to come along fitness-wise. "She didn't have the perfect prep coming into today… so expect her to improve a lot." Bookies introduced Zelaina as 4-1 joint-fav alongside Lady Iman. But they were immediately forced to cut her and now she is a best 7-2 fav with the likes of William Hill. Unbeaten Desert Flower heads Oaks field
The Charlie Appleby-trained filly extended her unbeaten record to five with an all-the-way success in last month's 1000 Guineas and she is a short-priced favourite to take the step up to a mile and a half in her stride. Desert Flower is one of two contenders for Godolphin along with the supplemented Elwateen, who finished a fine fourth in the Guineas for Saeed bin Suroor on what was just her second ever start. Aidan O'Brien has trained 10 Oaks winners so far and he fields three this time, with Chester Oaks winner Minnie Hauk, Lingfield victor Giselle and Musidora winner Whirl all going for gold. Qilin Queen and Revoir, first and second in a Newbury Listed contest last time out, renew their rivalry for Ed Walker and Ralph Beckett respectively, while Joseph O'Brien's Wemighttakedlongway and outsider Go Go Boots for John and Thady Gosden complete the line up. French raider Calandagan leads seven declarations for the Betfred Coronation Cup on the same card. The four-year-old was narrowly beaten on his seasonal bow in the Sheema Classic at Meydan in April, but is a clear market leader for Francis-Henri Graffard in the Group One heat. O'Brien saddles two with Jan Brueghel and Continuous, the last two St Leger winners, both lining up. Marco Botti's Giavellotto was fifth in the Sheema Classic and tries his luck again, with Ancient Wisdom, Bellum Justum and the Beckett-trained You Got To Me, winner of last year's Irish Oaks and now in the Amo Racing silks, the other contenders.
