How to rewind time and pull off tricks in Mario Kart World?
(Image via YouTube/Nintendo UK)
Mario Kart World has introduced some fresh ways to shave some seconds off the lap times, but only if you know how to exploit them. The two key mechanics separate the casual racers from the champions—the rewind feature to perfect the tricky sections and mid-air tricks for the explosive speed boosts.
Neither might be obvious at first glance, but they can both dramatically alter the racing strategy. Here is how you can leverage them like a pro.
How to pull off mid-air tricks in Mario Kart World?

Mario Kart World Tricks are not just flashy. They are the player's ticket to maintain momentum. Launch off either the ramp or even the unlucky Toad, and then tap on R mid-air for a spin, flip, or strike the character-specific pose. The key is to spam the button. Unlike the past games, in Mario Kart World, you can chain multiple tricks in a single jump.
Each of them adds up to the stacked Mario Kart World speed boosts that gets activated on landing.
Direction inputs help you tweak the style. Hold Left/Right for the spin or Up/Down for a flip. If you choose not to hold down either input, the character will perform animation unique to them. Also, there is no penalty for overdoing the tricks. So, mash R ruthlessly. Feather items can extend the airtime and offer you more opportunities to rack up the boosts.
Just remember, the tiny hops (like from the bumps) will not trigger the tricks.
You need some proper air.

How YOU can use REWIND in Mario Kart World #mariokartworld #news
If you screw up the drift or miss any shortcut, just hold Down on D-Pad and Rewind. But remember, it's possible only in the Solo Modes. But this is not your get-out-of-jail completely free card. The race will continue around you. So, use the rewind strategy strategically. Rewind will not dodge the blue shells or undo the actions of rivals.
It lets players retry the tight corners or cover a hidden path until it becomes muscle memory.

Use the rewinds to,
Salvage the botched landings after the tricks.
Memorize some obstacle patterns.
Practice the shortcuts without restarting.
Consider Rewind as your training tool. Perfecting the turn or nailing the risky jumps matters more than salvaging the botched lap. The online races disable it. So, practice it offline before you take the skills to a multiplayer (not rewind) game and have a great game.
