Hearts set to face East Kilbride as Derek McInnes brings Jambos to K-Park for friendly
The Premiership side will provide a huge test for the newly promoted League Two side East Kilbride are set to face Premiership side Hearts in pre-season as new Jambos boss Derek McInnes brings his side to K-Park. However, the bad news for fans is that the clash will be played behind closed doors. Kilby have just been promoted to the SPFL and they will face some stern tests to get them prepared for the big step up from the Lowland League. They face Championship side St Johnstone in their first League Cup group stage match on July 12 and Kilby will discover their League Two fixtures when they SPFL release the 2025/26 schedule on Friday. The clash with the Jambos, which is set to be confirmed in the coming days, comes after the club announced former Celtic boss Neil Lennon will be bringing his Dunfermline side to K-Park for a friendly on Saturday, June 28. That match will be open to supporters and tickets are currently available here. Kilby gaffer Mick Kennedy has revealed to Lanarkshire Live Sport that the clash with the capital club is almost finalised, but it won't be open to fans. He said: "Hearts' first team are coming but it will be a behind closed doors game. There are two dates in the diary and we are just waiting to determine which one it will be. "It is great to get a game like this. There is enough respect for us now in the leagues in terms of the quality we have at the club. Anytime we have played against a side above us, we have posed a real challenge. "Probably with where Hearts will be in terms of their pre-season at that point, it will be a difficult enough game for them in terms of early preparation, as they build towards more difficult friendlies. It suits both clubs. "With Derek going in there, he will be building his own group and looking to fine tune, but it is something we are all loooking forward to." On the Dunfermline clash, Kennedy added: "Neil will be looking to try and challenge for in the Championship and get into the Premiership as soon as possible. It will be exciting to bring Neil and his team here. "It's a good test for us before the League Cup section gets going."

Bob MacIntyre shows who he really is with the moving story behind viral reaction to US Open winning putt
The Scottish star's reaction to heartbreaking defeat at US Open which was caught on cameras won him a new army of admirers Proud Bob MacIntyre has opened up on the moment of class which has drawn him praise from across the golf and sporting world. The Scottish star's reaction to heartbreaking defeat at US Open which was caught on cameras won him a new army of admirers inside and outside of the sport. MacIntyre had put himself into position to win a cherished first Major title at the US Open as he posted a final-round 68 to set the clubhouse target at one-over par. The 28-year-old signed his card and carried out his media duties onsite at Oakmont before then having to sit and wait to see if his number would be surpassed. As challengers fell away, JJ Spaun became the only rival who could realistically get the better of him in the final analysis and the American's birdie on the penultimate hole moved him ahead by a stroke. Finding the final green in the regulation two shots, Spaun still faced a monster putt and there was a genuine chance of a three-stab which would have set-up a play-off between him and MacIntyre. However, in a storybook finale for the home favourite, he rolled home the incredible effort from long range as MacIntyre watched from a seat inside the clubhouse. His instant reaction brought commendation as, instead of displaying bitter disappointment, the impressive Scot applauded massively and followed up with a 'wow' as he gave deserved dues to his last standing opponent's spectacular sealing of the deal. MacIntyre's actions were roundly acknowledged across social-media with Sky analyst and former Major winner Dame Laura Davies making it clear that she hoped the Oban star would get his own day at a Major because of his quality gesture. Spaun, of course, had been cruelly denied his own huge success earlier in the year when beaten in a play-off at The Players Championship by Rory McIlroy. MacIntyre gave his version and explained: 'Aye, it was just one of those ones where you want to see someone winning it [in style]. I mean, I got to win the Scottish Open last year the way I did with the big celebration. 'Look, if I'd won this one it was going to be unbelievable, it would have been something special. But to see a guy hole a putt like that to win after his heartbreak in The Players, I take my hat off to him. Fair play!'

Liverpool manager's comment spoke volumes about Andy Robertson in contract talks
Andy Robertson could be set for a Liverpool exit this summer amid the Reds' pursuit of Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, with Atletico Madrid now interested in signing the Scottish left-back Jurgen Klopp's comments about Andy Robertson during his previous contract renewal talks spoke volumes about the Liverpool star's character. Robertson looks increasingly likely to leave Anfield this summer amid interest from La Liga side Atletico Madrid. Talks between Atletico and Robertson's camp are said to have already taken place. The 31-year-old's mixed form this season had led Liverpool to begin their search for a new left-back, deciding to work on a deal for Bournemouth 's Milos Kerkez, who they are now closing in on. The expectation initially was that Kostas Tsimikas would be the one to leave, leaving Robertson and Kerkez to compete for the left-back position. But Robertson's departure would make it more likely that Tsimikas stays on as the second-choice next season. If the Scotland captain has played his last game in a Reds shirt, he will certainly go down as a club legend. Since his arrival in 2017, he has won every trophy possible while becoming a fan favourite. Robertson's passion and dedication in particular has earned him the adoration of supporters throughout the years. And even his former manager, Klopp, summed up his loyalty when speaking about the Scot's contract extension back in 2019. Klopp told club media at the time (via 'I think of all the contract renewals I have been involved with, this one was done in almost record time. It's fair to say Robbo didn't hesitate for even a second when we spoke about extending his stay at our club for longer. 'I remember when we signed him back in the summer of 2017, I spoke a lot about 'his story, his journey' and how much I loved it and thought it pointed to the type of person and player he would be for us. 'He has exceeded these expectations. He might be from Glasgow originally, but everything about him screams Liverpool. "It has been fantastic to see him grow, develop and improve. It was not the easiest of starts for him maybe, because we are blessed with another fantastic left-back in Alberto Moreno. "He had to be patient - he had to be ready when his chance came and his progression since is an example to any player joining us. Everyone knows about his personality, on and off the pitch, but maybe we are guilty at times of overlooking his quality. "Ask those who play against him - be it matchday or training - and they speak about his technical and tactical qualities, just as much as his character and heart. "Our supporters have fallen in love with him, he has fallen in love with them - and both he and his amazing young family are very much at home in Liverpool."
