NBA rumors: Why Spurs aren't currently a Kevin Durant trade match for Suns

The post NBA rumors: Why Spurs aren't currently a Kevin Durant trade match for Suns appeared first on ClutchPoints.
The Phoenix Suns are looking to find a trade partner for Kevin Durant, and there are a few teams that he'd prefer to be moved to. One of those teams is the San Antonio Spurs, and it would probably be one of the best moves for Durant when looking at the talent they already have on the roster.

Though the Spurs can put together a nice deal, it doesn't seem like the Suns are all that interested in what they have to offer, according to Jake Fischer.
'Sources add that Phoenix is not enamored with the players San Antonio has made available in the teams' talks to date,' Fischer wrote. 'It is obviously presumed that Durant would relish the opportunity to play alongside Victor Wembanyama, but it is also believed that the Spurs are only willing to discuss veterans such as Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson and Harrison Barnes.
'Vassell, though, might be the highest-upside player available to the Suns. That said: It is also more than fair to wonder how high Vassell's upside in Phoenix could be considering his positional overlap with both Booker and Bradley Beal.'
The Suns may be looking for the Spurs to move players such as Stephon Castle or the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft, but that may be too much for them to give up.
How bad do the Spurs want Kevin Durant?
If the Spurs want Durant, it looks like the No. 2 pick and some other stuff will get the job done, but they don't plan on trading that particular pick, according to The Athletic's Kelly Iko.

'All signs up until this point indicate that San Antonio intends to hold on to the selection, league sources say, and keep that pick out of any trade discussions,' Iko wrote. 'The 14th pick, however, is available, league sources said. Duke's Cooper Flagg is expected to be drafted by the Dallas Mavericks with the first selection, and Rutgers' Dylan Harper would be in line to be taken second by the Spurs.'
There's also the thing of the Suns simply not trading Durant to his preferred destination, and it sounds like they will do their due diligence on where they want to trade him. At the end of the day, the Suns want to do what's best for their team, and they want to get the best offer for Durant.

Inter Milan Still Searching For ‘Turning Point' Between Inzaghi & Chivu

Inter Milan are still searching for a 'turning point' between Simone Inzaghi and Cristian Chivu after their Club World Cup opener against Monterrey. This is the view in today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement The Cristian Chivu era is now officially underway at Inter Milan. The Romanian was on the bench for his first Nerazzurri match, in the form of their Club World Cup group stage opener against Monterrey. There were mixed signs from that match, it would be fair to say. In terms of the formation, Inter started out with a the 3-5-2 shape that had been customary under Inzaghi. However, they also switched to a 3-4-1-2 and 3-4-2-1 in the second half. And then, as far as new signings go, there were two debuts. Luis Henrique looked bright coming on as a substitute in the second. Less so the shaky Petar Sucic entering in midfield. (Photo by) Then there is the matter of set piece defending. Advertisement Inter Milan had always gone with pretty much a purely man-marking set pieces defending set pieces under Simone Inzaghi. On the other hand, there are already clear signals that Cristian Chivu is ready to change that. Inter defended much more zonally against Monterrey. In the view of Tuttosport, it is doubtful whether this is the right plan. After all, Inter conceded just twice from corners last season. However, Chivu will deserve some time to see whether his ideas can really work in guiding Inter successfully out of Inzaghi's reign. Right now, the team are still looking for that decisive turning point, though.

Florida Panthers crack and dent Stanley Cup as title celebrations roll on

It's fair to say that the Florida Panthers are enjoying their Stanley Cup victory celebrations – but they have come at the expense of the trophy itself. As the Panthers' celebrations kicked into gear, photographs from the festivities showed that the bowl of the trophy has sustained a crack while the bottom is dented. Reuters reported that the incidents happened in the hours after Florida's Game 6 romp over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday to secure its second straight Stanley Cup. Images and videos on social media showed the Panthers players celebrating their title victory at Elbo Bar in Fort Lauderdale with fans, including clips of players pouring beer from the Stanley Cup onto fans. A spokesperson for the Hockey Hall of Fame told the Associated Press that the Keepers of the Cup plan to have it repaired by the celebration parade on Sunday. A trophy suffering 'injuries' in title-winning celebrations isn't unheard of. In 2011, following international soccer giant Real Madrid's winning of Spain's premier cup competition – the Copa del Rey – defender Sergio Ramos dropped the trophy from the top of a double-decker bus amid the festivities, only for the team bus to run over it and leave the silverware with a huge dent in it. For the famed Stanley Cup, this year's predicament isn't even the wildest situation it has found itself in over its storied lifespan. In almost cartoon-like fashion, the Montreal Canadiens left the trophy on the side of the road after winning it in 1924. The story goes that a car carrying some of the team had stalled going up a hill, meaning players had to get out to push. It wasn't until they reached the top that they realized they had left one of the most famous trophies in the world behind. In 1994, a photo was taken of Kentucky Derby winner Go For Gin eating out of the trophy while at New York's Belmont Park after the New York Rangers had won the 'People's Trophy.' A post shared by CNN Sports (@cnnsport) Following the Detroit Red Wings' success in 2008, Kris Draper celebrated by putting his baby daughter in the Cup for a photo. Only she left behind a little surprise … by using the legendary trophy as a toilet. Pittsburgh Penguins forward Josh Archibald got creative with his celebrations, using his time with the Cup to baptize his son. Three-week-old Brecken was photographed receiving his blessing while sitting in the bowl at the top of the trophy. CNN's Ben Church, Agne Jurkenaite, Marco Chacon and Alicia Johnson contributed to this report.
