Chinese Drilling Technology Contributes in Expanding Egypt's Agricultural Lands

partners, reported that Egypt's Western Desert barren lands are gradually being transformed into fertile fields by the advanced Chinese well-drilling technology.
The well drilling project, implemented by the Egyptian branch of a Chinese oil and gas company, became part of a mega program to expand agricultural land by developing deserts.
This project is an example of sustainable development for arid regions and demonstrates the potential of international cooperation in food security and environmental restoration.
The project is being implemented as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Egypt has expanded beyond infrastructure projects to now include the agricultural sector, technology, and industry.
The company began operations in Egypt in 2016 and has since drilled more than 680 wells nationwide.
In the Owainat, 63 deep wells were drilled in less than a year, despite extreme weather and geological conditions.
Experts emphasise that such projects are key to Egypt's sustainable development. "Any increase in water resources has a direct impact on agricultural growth," Ahmed Galal, dean of the Higher Institute for Agricultural Cooperation in Cairo said.

Taarek Refaat Tesla shares recovered from heavy losses amid signs that the rift between CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump is easing, easing investor concerns about the potential political fallout for the electric car maker. Interior Min. Participates with Citizens in Celebrating Eid al-Adha
Taarek Refaat Police officers from various security directorates joined citizens in celebrating Eid al-Adha, taking to the streets and squares to offer their congratulations and distribute flowers to passersby and motorists. This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's strategy, one of whose main pillars is to activate the societal role of all security sectors and engage citizens in celebrating various occasions. This contributes to deepening the bonds of trust and strengthening the connection between police officers and citizens. The Ministry of Interior held Eid al-Adha prayers at correctional and rehabilitation centers for inmates. The events were attended by a number of Islamic and Christian clerics who joined the celebrations and congratulated the inmates, expressing the solidarity and connection among the Egyptian people. ِAlso, the Community Protection Sector convened committees to review the files of inmates nationwide to determine those eligible for pardon for the remainder of their sentences.
