Move to set up MSME park in every Assembly constituency gets Cabinet nod
The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet has approved the proposal submitted by the Industries and Commerce Department to develop 175 MSME parks in the State, one each in all 175 Assembly constituencies, as part of the 'One Family-One Entrepreneur' policy.
The Cabinet also approved the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority's (APCRDA) proposal to allot 50 acres of land for the development of a Quantum Valley in Amaravati. The APCRDA submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project, Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy told the media at the Secretariat after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
The Cabinet approved a proposal for the establishment of Andhra Pradesh State Quantum Mission (SQM), for which the government would work with institutions such as IIT Madras, TCS, and IBM.
Advanced research in quantum computing, AI, and cybersecurity, etc. would attract world-class researchers, bringing investments to the State. IBM will deploy '156-qubit Quantum System 2' in the State, while TCS will partner in software development and the L&T will participate in the development of Quantum Valley Tech Park.
Quantum Summit
This mission will contribute to cutting-edge research in cybersecurity, drug discovery, material science, and high-performance computing, transforming the State into centre for quantum technology, the Minister said, adding that the Quantum Summit would be organised in June to develop strategic action plans with international experts.
Mr. Parthasarathy said that the Cabinet approved the proposal by the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department for a one-time settlement of ₹5.75 crore for providing safe drinking water through RO Plants to Uddanam area and tribal areas in Srikakulam district under NTR Sujala Pathakam, and ₹8.22 crore as one-time settlement for 15 water treatment plants to cover 533 water-scarce habitations in four mandals in Kuppam constituency, he said.
This decision will ensure safe drinking water supply to 2.42 lakh people in 341 habitations across seven mandals including Palasa, Vajrapukotturu, Kaviti, Sompeta, Kamchili, Ichapuram, Mandasa, and tribal areas in Seetampeta mandal of Srikakulam district.
Clean drinking water will be made available to 2.85 lakh people in 533 habitations across Kuppam, Gudipalle, Shantipuram, and Ramakuppam mandals in Chittoor District, he said.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to exempt stamp duty and registration fees for the transfer of 10.88 acres of land at Vanguru village in Eluru District, which former IAS officer Kasaraneni Damayanthi intends to donate to Hyderabad Eye Institute. Through this decision, Hyderabad Eye Institute will receive an exemption of ₹10.54 lakh in transfer duty.
The Cabinet ratified the revised administrative sanctions implemented for the modernisation works of Haritha Hotel Yatri Nivas in Visakhapatnam.
JetCity project
The Cabinet approved the proposals for completion of Flatted Factory Complex works at JetCity at Vemavaramu village in NTR district by Andhra Pradesh Economic Cities Promotion and Development Corporation Limited (APEDCO). The government will allot 10.12 cents of land to the APEDCO for the first phase of JetCity project, he added.

New Delhi: Age is catching up for two of India's leading IT companies – Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) and Infosys Ltd – as they are witnessing a sharp decline in their young workforce, Mint reported. The shrinking number of employees under 30, as stated in the companies annual reports, have raised concerns over the sustainability of the traditional employee pyramid model. According to the report, at the end of FY25, just 47.7% of TCS employees in India were below 30, down from 59% in FY22, implying that the company had 44,542 fewer young employees than it had three years ago. Meanwhile, at Infosys, only 52% of its 323,578 employees were equal to or under 30 years of age at the end of FY25, down from 60% in FY22 – signalling a net drop of about 17,609 younger employees. According to the daily, one of the reasons could be that automation is eliminating a significant chunk of entry-level jobs, signalling broader shifts in the IT services market. With automation tools on offer, the need for younger employees who typically handled customer support roles has reduced. As a result, young graduates are more drawn to startups, software product makers, or tech centres of global firms like Google and Microsoft. These also allow them better pay, faster growth and more creative work, according to some analysts. Another reason is that the traditional pyramid model may now be dated causing companies to see their margins erode. According to the report, TCS's revenue in FY25 rose only 3.78% to USD 30.18 billion – slowest in four years – while Infosys's revenue growth was also sluggish at 3.85%, touching USD 19.28 billion. Economic uncertainty One of the other major reasons why the growth has noticeably slowed down now is because global clients are cutting back on tech spending due to economic uncertainty. A Mumbai-based analyst told Mint that slow hiring was a result of the sluggish demand for IT services. 'IT services providers hire junior employees, most of whom fall under 30, when there is high demand for tech services. This was the case in FY22 when plenty of freshers were added. Now, because growth has been a little sluggish, hiring has been low, and which is why we see fewer young people.' In FY22, TCS and Infosys had added over 157,000 employees combined whereas in FY25, that number dropped to 12,771. According to the report, this also shows up in campus placement data of engineering colleges as they report lesser offers from the top IT service companies. Final-year students who would typically receive early offers from these firms are now seeking opportunities at software product firms, fintech startups, or hunting for overseas universities instead. Bigger issue abroad The issue of ageing workforce becomes more pressing in key markets abroad as the firms are losing their appeal among young job seekers. In North America, which contributes over half of TCS's revenue, more than 20% of its workforce is over 50 years old, the daily stated. In Europe, nearly 28% of its employees are above 50. On the other hand, Infosys received 4.46 million job applications in FY25—a 24% drop from FY22. Supreme Court allows medical exam body to reschedule NEET PG to August 3
The Supreme Court has allowed the National Board of Examinations' (NBE) request to postpone the NEET PG 2025 examination to August 3. The exam was initially scheduled for June 15.A bench comprising Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Augustine George Masih allowed the application filed by the NBE for extension of time to conduct the NEET bench said that the request made by the NBE was based on technical constraints. "Request made by NBE saying 3rd August is the earliest possible date given by its technology partner TCS," the court reviewing the documents submitted by the board, the court said, "Having gone through the papers annexed, we are satisfied that prayer for extension and rescheduling is bonafide." The apex court also clarified that this extension will be final. "Accordingly, the time allowed by our earlier order to hold the NEET exam is extended. No further extension will be granted," it the hearing today, the bench initially questioned the NBE on the need for postponing the exam until August 3. In response, the NBE's counsel explained that the exam was originally scheduled across 450 centres for over 2.5 lakh candidates. However, following the Court's directive to conduct the exam in a single shift, the number of centres now needs to be doubled. Identifying suitable centres and ensuring necessary security arrangements will require additional time, as reported by the Live candidates must be informed about the updated centres to make their selections accordingly — a process that is inherently the NBE had informed the apex court that it would be unable to conduct the exam before August 3. This update followed the Supreme Court's directive that NEET PG must be held in a single shift across the country — unlike last year's two-shift its affidavit, NBE said that the time until August 3 is crucial for proper planning. It cited inputs from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), its technology partner, which highlighted the massive coordination required for the computer-based test. Personnel to be arranged include system operators, lab managers, registration staff, and also stressed that NEET PG is a high-stakes examination and that all possible steps must be taken to prevent any malpractice. SC allows NEET-PG 2025 to be held on August 3 on a single day
New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBE) to reschedule the NEET-PG 2025 examination to August 3, 2025, and conduct it in a single day, following the Court's earlier direction to hold the exam in one shift instead of two. A bench comprising justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Masih allowed NBE's application seeking extension of time, which became necessary after the court's May 30 order ruled against the originally planned two-shift format on June 15. The court had then left room for the NBE to approach it again for a date extension. Representing NBE, the counsel explained that the total candidature of over 2.5 lakh aspirants made it imperative to double the number of test centres from 450 to over 900, requiring extensive logistical preparation, additional security measures, and reopening of the application window to let candidates choose new test cities. However, the bench expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in initiating preparations post the May 30 order. Justice Masih questioned, 'You haven't started the process even. Why do you need two months? Children are studying. Admissions will be delayed.' Justice Mishra too was sceptical, 'You had to make security arrangements even for the June 15 exam. Why do you need so much time now?' The NBE, supported by its technology partner TCS, insisted that August 3 was the earliest feasible date, due to infrastructure and scheduling constraints related to other national-level exams. TCS, according to NBE, required time to conduct mock drills, system audits, hardware readiness checks, and ensure anti-cheating protocols at a national scale. Candidate-side counsel opposed the delay, stating that TCS's other exam responsibilities shouldn't impact NEET-PG timelines. Justice Masih suggested exploring a mid-July date, but ASG K.M. Nataraj, for the Union government, defended the proposed timeline, citing practical challenges in arranging nearly 1,000 secure test centres and mobilising trained manpower. Eventually, the bench accepted the rationale and ruled, 'We are satisfied that the prayer for extension of time to reschedule the exam on August 3, 2025, is bona fide. "Accordingly, the time allowed by our order dated May 30 is extended, and NBE is permitted to hold the exam on August 3, 2025. No further extension shall be granted.'
