Wicklow teenagers rewarded after impressing at No Name Club's talent showcase

Members of No Name Club Hollywood lit up the stage at the No Name's Got Talent showcase in Athlone's Dean Crowe Theatre as the spotlight shone on some of Ireland's brightest young performers.
No Name Club, a national, voluntary youth organisation, provides young people with a space to socialise in a fun, safe, and alcohol-free environment. The annual talent show is one of the No Name Club's biggest and most anticipated events and this year was no exception.
The showcase was held on Saturday, April 26, with Liam, Mary and Dylan from the Hollywood club performing a well received comedy sketch. No Name Club Hollywood's Isis Kindratowicz was awarded the first-place stage award for her rendition of 'If Only'.
Judges praised both the variety and the standard of talent on display, and all participating clubs were recognised with trophies and awards.
Speaking about the competition, chairperson of No Name Club Dr Garrett Keenaghan said: 'It's so heartening to see the talent on show from our young people. The level of effort, organisation and team work that we've seen here is just fantastic. Congratulations to everyone involved.'
No Name Club Hollywood provides a safe environment for young people aged 15 to 18 and they meet each Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Hollywood Centre.

A FAMOUS pub loved by Noel and Liam Gallagher is set to close this week. The Shaston Arms, in London's Soho, will be shutting its doors on June 15 for the final time. Other famous patrons included film stars Ewan McGregor and Jude Law, the later of whom was apparently fond of the pub's bangers and mash. The 90s boyband Blue even signed their first ever contract in the establishment. However, the pub actually only opened in 1999, since which it has been managed by landlady Sally Graham. Prior to that the location hosted a pair of shops. The name 'Shaston' was taken from the novelist Thomas Hardy, who invented the name for his imaginary version of Shaftesbury in Dorset. One wag earlier this year posted on Facebook after visiting: "The Shaston Arms is now The Lady Shaston. My pronouns are still tipsy/drunk." In a statement posted to Instagram announcing the closure, they said: "We are disappointed that after 25 wonderful years, we are sadly saying goodbye to The Shaston Arms in Carnaby. Advertisement "Our wish was to renew the lease on the building, but we understand that the landlord wishes to pursue a restaurant offer on Ganton Street. "Therefore, the Shaston Arms will sadly close on Sunday 15th June 2025. "We know that the Shaton will be missed by the local community and thank our guests and team for their loyalty, support, and laughter over the past two and a half decades." 2025 has been a difficult year for London's historic pubs, with some of the capital's most famous taphouses closing. Advertisement Ye Olde Swiss Cottage, on Finchley Rd in north west London , was shut down at the start of February, much to the displeasure of loyal customers. Admitting he won't nail down the setlist for the 90-minute performance until the night before, Rod said: 'We've been running [through it] because I have two guests coming on. "Three guests actually, so we're doing their songs. But no, it won't be until the night before.' But does that mean he will be on his best behaviour at Worthy Farm? Doesn't sound like it. The Faces legend – who has been forced to cancel a string of gigs in the US this month while recovering from flu – said he will be treating himself to some Bacardi and Coke before going on stage. But the singer said: 'I'm enjoying performing now more than I've ever done in my entire life and I'm in my 80s. 'You'll see it at Glastonbury. 'My energy, enthusiasm is overwhelming, almost. I've got a band that I absolutely adore being with.' His high-intensity shows are fuelled by early nights and electrolytes, with Lionel performing 22 of his biggest tracks including Dancing On The Ceiling, Endless Love and All Night Long. Here's what the celebs wore to the Tony Awards 2025
The 78th Tony Awards took place in Radio City Music Hall in New York City last night, with Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Scherzinger, George Clooney and Cork native Samantha Barry among the celebrities at the starry event. The awards, which were hosted this year by Wicked star Erivo, celebrate excellent in the theatre community and is one of the most hotly anticipated nights in entertainment. A host of first-time winners were celebrated on the night. As always, the stars dressed to the nines for the occasion, stepping out in outfits that were typically theatrical. Scherzinger, who has had a headline-making turn in Sunset Boulevard, was a first time nominee and walked away with the award for best leading actress in a musical. The actress and singer wore a form-fitting red sequinned gown by Rodarte. The custom design featured a thigh-high slit and a fitted bodice. She paired it with red stiletto heels and a bold red lip. Jonathan Groff also opted for a red look, stepping out in a three-piece dark crimson suit by Thom Browne, with a statement diamong brooch on one lapel. Brooke Shields made a bold entrance in a vivid red mini dress by Balmain. Samantha Barry, editor-in-chief of US Glamour, made a stunning appearance, looking elegant in a black and white floral gown by Carolina Herrera. With hosting duties on the night, Erivo made sure her outfit stood out, and wore a Schiaparelli SS25 Couture gown featuring an exaggerated off-the-shoulder neckline, an embroidered bodice and a sleek skirt. Cole Escola, the star and writer of Oh, Mary! a comedic reimagining of Mary Todd Lincoln as a woman who yearns to be a cabaret star, made history as the first out non-binary person to win best actor in a play.
