Israeli actress Gal Gadot forced to stop filming The Runner after pro-Palestine protesters swarm London set
Gal Gadot was said to be fuming after a group of pro-Palestine protesters swarmed the set of her new movie The Runner and interrupted filming.
The Israeli actress, who has been vocal in her support of the war against Hamas, was escorted off set as activists brandishing flags shouted 'stop bombing Palestine ' through a megaphone.
One man was also seen banging a drum to cause maximum disruption to the filming that was taking place by a canal in Camden, north London, on Wednesday.
Police were called in to manage the situation and Gal was reportedly replaced by a body double.
Pictures show around a dozen police officers engaging with protesters on Camden Road. It is unclear if any arrests were made.
The demonstration is likely a blow for Gal who appeared in good spirits when she was first spotted filming The Runner with co-star Damien Lewis last week.
The actress, 39, who previously served in the Israeli Defence Forces, donned a tight blue running jacket and black leggings that showed off her incredible frame.
The look was teamed with bright red trainers, a running bag, and arm pouch.
Her character was seen on a run after dropping her child at school, where she bumped into Damien's character.
Damien, 54, meanwhile cut a suave figure on set as he sported a strong moustache and slicked back hair.
He opted for a black structured coat layered over brown trousers and a matching jumper.
The ensemble was finished with smart black shoes and a pair of black leather gloves.
His character was seen looking suspicious as he walked down the street past the school.
The Runner centres on a high-flying attorney (Gal) who has to race through London to try to save her abducted son.
It is being produced by David Kosse via his new London-based production company Rockwood Pictures.
Gal's outing on Friday follows a string of controversies that have marred her latest Disney film, Snow White, including claims of a feud between her and Rachel Zegler.
While Gal is said to have got on well with Rachel Zegler during filming, it is thought their relationship froze when Rachel started sharing her pro-Palestine views.

Meanwhile the remake later hit another snag after Lebanon banned the film from its cinemas nationwide.
The Middle East nation made the move last week because of star Gal, who plays the Evil Queen in the box office bomb.
Gal an Israeli, is on Lebanon's boycott list because of her past service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and her vocal support for Israel in its war against Hamas.
Lebanon has previously banned other Gal movies including Wonder Woman and Death On The Nile over the star's nationality.

Sydney Sweeney and her younger brother head out for Echo Valley London premiere
brought her rarely-seen younger brother to the European premiere of Echo Valley and the following afterparty at London 's BFI Southbank on Tuesday night. The actress, 27, look glamorous at the event in a halter neck baby blue gown, with a flowing tulle train, before changing for the afterparty. Sydney stars opposite Julianne Moore in the psychological thriller which explores how far a mother - played by Julianne - will go for their child. Family date: Sydney Sweeney took her younger brother as her date to the European premiere of Echo Valley at London's BFI Southbank on Tuesday night For the afterparty, Sydney changed into a satin Miu Miu champagne-coloured dress, that clung to her slim figure and displayed her cleavage. Her little brother Trent looked smart in a leather blazer, black trousers, and aviator shades. The siblings were joined by Trent's girlfriend, Samayre Soto - with the couple looking loved up as he sweetly kissed her cheek. Samayre dressed in an edgy black corseted satin dress which exposed her toned midriff and impressive collection of tattoos. Trent is Sydney's only sibling. He enjoys a life away from the limelight and rarely makes appearances on the red carpet. However, the brother-and-sister have frequently shown their very strong bond, including on Instagram. In 2020, Sydney touched on their relationship, as she discussed whether it was similar to the sibling rivalry depicted in her film Nocturne. She said: 'Not so much the competitive side, but I roughed him up and tried to push him to do more.' After a few minor acting gigs in his childhood, Trent ultimately decided to not pursue an on-screen career. In 2020, he began military training for the United States Air Force, with Sydney showing her support on Instagram at the time by posting several throwback photos of the pair as kids. In a sweet tribute, Sydney captioned the post: 'My little bro leaves for basic training tomorrow. Wishing you luck, bud. When the going gets tough just remember your sister is tougher than you.' Trent has also shown his support for Sydney from the start of her huge Hollywood career by previously promoting her Netflix series Everything Sucks! and protesting its cancellation. In 2019, he shared a throwback selfie of the pair as he voiced his pride at her Screen Actors Guild nomination for her performance in The Handmaid's Tale. He wrote: 'I know this is an old picture and I already posted it, but I wanted to congratulate my sis @sydney_sweeney on being nominated for a SAG award and wish her the best of luck.' The sibling outing comes after Sydney opened up about how she and Trent had to live in a Holiday Inn for nine months after her parents were declared bankrupt. She is now a multi-million dollar success story after making it with acting with roles in Anyone But You, The White Lotus, and The Handmaid's Tale. However, before hitting the big time her family faced several struggles when her mother, Lisa, a criminal defence lawyer, and her father who worked in hospitality, were declared bankrupt. In 2013 when she was 16, her parents who are now divorced, sold their home in Washington, with the family of four living in a one-bedroom hotel room for months. Just a baby: Sydney and Trent pictured as children eating dinner on a makeshift table which appears to be an ironing board Speaking to The Times about her tough childhood, Sydney said: 'We lived in the Holiday Inn in Burbank [northwest LA] for eight and a half months but it felt like my entire life. 'We were sharing a one-bedroom hotel room, no kitchen, no balcony. A pull-out sofa bed, where my dad and brother slept, my mom and me in the bed.' Detailing how her and Trent coped, she said: 'My brother and I tried to make the best of it - we would joke around and say we were in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. 'We'd run around the different hallways and find stairwells and make friends with all the staff and they would make us grilled cheese.' Sydney now boasts an incredible property portfolio after finding her own financial success thanks to her movie and TV work.
