2-year-old boy hit by car while crossing street in Huber Heights neighborhood
A 2-year-old was hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Huber Heights on Saturday, according to a spokesperson from the Huber Heights Police Department.

The crash happened in the 6000 block of Kingsbury Drive before 1:30 p.m., according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Dakota Duncan previously told News Center 7 that his 2-year-old son was hit by a car and thrown about 20 feet.
When police and fire crews arrived on scene, they found the 2-year-old conscious and alert with 'no external evidence' of serious injuries, according to the spokesperson.

Medics took the child to an area hospital for additional treatment and examination.
A preliminary investigation found that 'the child exited his parents' parked car and ran across Kingsbury Drive,' the spokesperson said.
The driver hit the child in the street and then stopped.
The spokesperson said no evidence suggests the driver was speeding or intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Duncan told News Center 7 he believes the driver was speeding when the crash happened.
This crash remains under investigation by the Huber Heights Police Division.
Duncan told News Center 7 that police told him there was not much they could do.
'The cops said they don't have a laser that pinpoints his speed, so nothing can be done,' Duncan said.
'Huber Heights Police would like to remind the motoring public that nice weather promotes more children being out and about (especially in residential areas) and added caution should be used on the roads.
Also, parents and those charged with the care of very young children should consider carrying or holding the hands of little ones when they are in or around streets, parking lots and driveways."

Wolf pups sighted by Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff, agency confirms
Colorado wildlife officials have sighted wolf pups. Colorado Parks and Wildlife is monitoring four wolf den sites, spokesperson Travis Duncan told the Coloradoan. The Coloradoan asked where wolf pups were sighted, but Duncan did not include that information. "CPW staff have begun to get minimum counts of pups by both direct observations and indirect methods," Duncan said in an email. "It is important to note that sighting numbers (especially from early season sightings) are not a guaranteed number of animals since certainty in detection is low, based on continued denning, moving to rendezvous sites and being in varied habitat." Five of the 15 wolves captured in British Columbia and released in Colorado in January have died in less than six months after the latest wolf death in the northwest part of the state. The survival rate of 67% falls below the survival rate of 70% outlined in the state's wolf recovery plan. Of the wolves that have died, three were males and two were females. Colorado Parks and Wildlife recently confirmed four wolf attacks on livestock in nine days in Pitkin County in May, prompting the agency to lethally remove a member of the Copper Creek pack. The agency deemed three subsequent livestock deaths on the same ranches "inconclusive." The confirmed depredation spree took place on three ranches approximately 14 miles apart, including one Pitkin County rancher Tom Harrington previously said he was told houses a wolf den with a new litter of pups. One of Harrington's calves was killed May 23 and was among the confirmed wolf kills. Ranchers claim the parents of the litter are the breeding female of the Copper Creek pack and a male from British Columbia. Video circulating on social media shows the moment a man was hit by a driver at a car meet in a Southside parking lot. Witnesses said that it was supposed to be just a 'park and chill' type of meet. In dash camera video provided to Action News Jax, you can see the car speed across the parking lot before hitting the victim. People then started running over to see if he was okay. It was just people hanging out here, chilling with their cars and they were here to talk. No one was driving around or anything,' said Ferrill. Another video shows a different angle of the collision.
