Ballybunion Golf Club welcomes six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo
The 67-year-old English man is a six-time Major winner and can boast of being the most successful European player of all time in terms of Major championship wins. He is a three-time Masters winner at Augusta (1989, 1990 and 1996) and won the Claret Jug at The Open on three occasions too (1987, 1990 and 1992).
Widely regarded as one of the greatest to ever play the game, he was ranked number one in the world for a total of 97 weeks. He is a nine-time winner on the PGA Tour and won 30 times on the European Tour as well.
He came agonisingly close to winning the career grand slam too, finishing tied second at the 1992 PGA Championship and second at the US Open in 1988. He stands one ahead of Rory McIlroy (5) in terms of Major wins.

Max O'Leary is hoping to finally break his international duck this week - six years after first being called up by Ireland. The Bristol City keeper has been knocking on the Ireland door since May 2019 when Mick McCarthy brought him in as cover for Mark Travers. But since then there have been two managerial changes - plus an interim boss - but still no cap for the English-born keeper who qualifies for Ireland via his Kerry-born grandfather. O'Leary, 28, said: 'I've been around a while now and seen a few managers. Hopefully, I'll get my opportunity soon. 'I'm ready if needed. I have always been happy to come across and hook up with the players in camp and have enjoyed it every time. 'The atmosphere is great. I'm ready to go and if I get that chance, I'll be happy to take it. It's something I've wanted to do and I've put in the hard work. This is just another thing to tick off, and it'd be a great honour.' Since he first got called into the Ireland squad, O'Leary has played 125 games straight in the Championship, maturing into a much better keeper than the 22-year-old version of himself. He says: 'You get into a rhythm of playing, especially with the volume of the Championship, you get to know your body. And feel like I have done well over that longer period of time. Obviously, there are going to be mistakes in there, but the consistency I am really happy with. 'With Bristol City, I had to bide my time and be patient which was how I ended up going out on a few loans. I know I wasn't ready to make that step up. 'Nigel Pearson was the manager at the time and he just said 'go and express yourself, you are going to make mistakes. I don't care. I am going to back you'. Liam Delap completes Chelsea switch in six-year deal
Chelsea have signed striker Liam Delap from Ipswich on a deal until until 2031 after triggering his £30million (€35.6m) release clause. An agreement was reached between the clubs last week for the England under-21 international, who becomes the Blues' first summer signing and can join immediately due to FIFA's 10-day June transfer window. That will enable him to take part in the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States, though if he travels with the team it will means he will miss the European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia. The 22-year-old said on the club's official website: "I understand the stature of this club and can see the trajectory it is on with these players and the head coach. "It's going to be an incredible place for me to develop and I hope to achieve amazing things here and help the club win more trophies." Chelsea reportedly fended off interest from Manchester United, with the lack of European football next season for the Old Trafford side understood to be a factor in the player's decision to pick west London. Enzo Maresca's side will play in the Champions League after finishing fourth in his first season in charge, the first time the club has qualified for Europe's top competition since 2022. Delap's signing means the pair will be reunited after working together with Manchester City's under-23 team while Maresca was in charge during the 2020/21 season, and latterly with the senior squad when the Italian was assistant to Pep Guardiola. Delap made only six first-team appearances for City, scoring once, before loan spells with Stoke, Preston and Hull. Despite Ipswich's relegation from the Premier League, which made his release clause active, he adapted quickly to the top flight by scoring 12 times in his first full season in the division - comfortably his best goal return - having spent most of his senior career in the Championship. Chelsea have been stretched thin in attack this season, with injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu leaving the team without a fit striker for periods of the campaign.
