Police clash with PSG yobs at Champions League parade on second day of chaos
Paris Saint-Germain supporters clashed with riot police for a second night in the French capital, following the club's historic Champions League victory on Saturday.
Riots erupted on the Champs Elysee on Sunday night as wild scenes around Paris St Germain's European Cup celebrations entered a second night.
Crowds of supporters attacked police on the world-famous venue in the French capital on Sunday evening, as the PSG team took part in a victory parade following theirvictory over Inter Milan in the Champions League, reports the Mirror.
"They are throwing everything they can at us," said an officer at the scene, as cops responded with tear gas and baton in a desperate bid to restore order.
Gangs armed with bricks and metal poles - looted from nearby building sites - battled with gendarmes. Shocking footage showed cars caught in the crossfire, as terrified drivers were told to lock themselves in their vehicles.
The violence came just hours after two people lost their life during intense nationwide violence following PSG being crowned European football champions for the first time in Munich, Germany, on Saturday night.
One of the worst incidents took place in Dax, in the south-west of France, where a 17-year-old was knifed in the stomach.
"He was part of a crowd celebrating the PSG win in designated fanzone, and died from his wounds in hospital' said a local police spokesman, without naming the deceased. An investigation is underway, and CCTV is being used to try and find those responsible.'
Another man was also killed when his scooter smashed into a car in Paris on Saturday, after the victim was seen celebrating the football win.

Meanwhile, in Normandy, a police officer was seriously injured after a firework was deliberately launched at his face in Coutances. He remains in intensive care, placed in a coma with devastating head and eye injuries.
The person who launched the firework attack - which has been reported as deliberate - has not yet been identified, according to an investigating source. In Grenoble, in eastern France, a car attempting 'a handbrake turn on a tram line' ploughed into a young family of four, severely wounding them.
Three - including two women - were left fighting for their lives and the driver is now in custody.
A total of 294 people were arrested for football -related violence and looting in Paris as France's Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, described trouble makers as 'barbarians'.
Reacting to the disorder on X, Mr Retailleau said: "True PSG fans are getting excited about their team's magnificent performance.
"Meanwhile, barbarians have taken to the streets of Paris to commit crimes and provoke law enforcement. I have asked the internal security forces to react vigorously to these abuses.
"I offer my support to the Police Prefect and all the police officers who are ensuring everyone's safety this evening. It is unacceptable that it is not possible to party without fearing the savagery of a minority of thugs who respect nothing."
The Champs-Élysées was locked down in a ring of steel, with stores boarding up windows and barricading entrances. However, that didn't deter looters from ransacking shops, including a Foot Locker and a Maisons du Monde furniture store, said a police spokesman.
Masks thugs in hoodies were seen prowling the streets, while discared mattresses were set alight, sending thick black smoke billowing through the night sky.
There was even fighting reported around the Eiffel Tower, which was lit up in PSG's red, white and blue following their 5-0 win.
Around 5,400 police officers were on duty across Paris at the weekend, as trouble was always expected, whatever the result.
PSG fans have built a notorious reputation for violence in recent years, with incidents against Arsenal and Aston Villa supporters during this year's Champion's League campaign.
There was also trouble reported in Munich, where rival French and Italian fans fought each other.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the PSG club president, appealed for calm on Sunday, as PSG took part in a victory parade in central Paris.

Greg Monks 'likely to have fallen into ravine after attempting to scale fence'
Gary Monks' body was discovered down a ravine after he disappeared during a stag do in Albufeira, Portugal, a week ago, and a police source has said what likely happened A Scot whose body was discovered after he disappeared while on a stag do in Portugal is thought to have fallen down a ravine to his death after he jumped a fence while lost, according to police. Greg Monks, 38, disappeared during a stag party in the tourist trap of Albufeira in the early hours of May 28, sparking a desperate search that saw his heartbroken parents and girlfriend fly out to help find him, reports the Mirror. Greg was last spotted on CCTV in the residential area of Cerro de Aguia, located roughly four miles away from the main bar area and it is believed he was trying to return to his hotel. On Wednesday, Portugese police confirmed that the body of a 38-year-old man had been discovered in the search for Greg. Sources from law enforcement said investigators believe Greg, from Glasgow, got lost and fell to his death as he tried to get back to his hotel. Authorities said that having investigated possible paths he may have taken, they tragically found a body in the Cerro de Aguia area where he laid undiscovered for a week in high temperatures. The police source added: 'There is nothing at this stage to indicate this man's death was linked in any way to a crime. But we need to wait for the autopsy results to conclude that is the case.' He added: 'Our belief is he lost all notion of where he was after drinking heavily and finding himself in an unfamiliar place, and that he jumped over a wall and fell to his death.' Forensic officers have been seen at the ravine where Greg's body was found, gathering evidence. Authorities had said that the body was found "on a vacant and very uneven terrain" and that it was taken away for an autopsy. Following the heartbreaking news that the body had been found, Greg's sister Jillian paid a heartbreaking tribute calling him "an amazing boy". Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Balaclava-clad youths on motorbikes terrorise Edinburgh residents as police crackdown on gangs
The youngsters were caught on camera in Edinburgh. Cops have vowed to clamp down on balaclava-clad yobs who were caught on camera rallying dirt bikes along a busy Scots street. It comes as locals and police continue to tackle the illegal use of motorbikes in Edinburgh. The group were spotted cruising down St John's Road in Corstorphine on Tuesday night. Three bikes all carrying two individuals were seen, four of those without helmets and wearing balaclavas. Two other youths were seen with both a balaclava and a helmet on as they travelled together down the busy road - two riding off-road bikes and another riding a moped-style bike. The group were reportedly seen in the same area on Monday night and according to locals, one of the bikes was spotted on social media with the rider filming themselves pulling stunts. Similar bikes are often seen across the city dodging in and out of traffic and pulling wheelies, with those riding them rarely seen wearing helmets, Edinburgh Live reports. It comes after we reported how a large group of Edinburgh bikers teamed up with officers at Police Scotland to help identify where bikes are reportedly being 'stashed' by thieves and identifying those responsible. The group are also taking time out of their day to help track down stolen bikes within the city and reunite them with their owners, as well as frequently reporting sightings and suspicious activity back to police. Special police operations have also been targeting the use of illegal motorbikes in Edinburgh, with several being seized in recent weeks. Between May 26-29 police in the south west arrested 11 individuals. Six vehicles, including e-bikes, were also seized. Several e-bikes were also recovered during May, with those riding them charged with alleged road traffic offences.
