Spain stars huddle around a phone to watch compatriot Carlos Alcaraz's dramatic French Open win over Jannik Sinner ahead of Nations League final
Spain's footballers may have been involved in an international final on Sunday night but their players were still keeping an eye on the action at the French Open.
Compatriot Carlos Alcaraz was involved in one of the great major finals as he pulled off an incredible comeback against world No 1 Jannik Sinner in the final at Roland Garros.
Alcaraz came back from two sets down and saved three championship points on the way to claim his fifth Grand Slam title in dramatic fashion.
It was the longest final in the history of the tournament, lasting five hours and 29 minutes.
And that meant it was still going on as Spain's players made their way out on to the pitch at the Munich Football Arena.
And a large group of them were seen huddled around a phone watching the match with just over an hour to go until their own final was to begin.
Alcaraz sealed his victory minutes before Spain and Portugal's Nations League showdown kicked off.
However, there wasn't to be another round of celebrations for the Spanish as Cristiano Ronaldo and co claimed the trophy.
La Roja took an early lead through Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi but the Portuguese hit back quickly through Nuno Mendes.
Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain back in front shortly before half-time before Ronaldo levelled in the second half.
The game ultimately went to penalties with Roberto Martinez's side coming out on top, leaving Ronaldo in tears of joy.

Emma Raducanu feeling ‘pretty good' as she steps up Wimbledon preparations
The 2021 US Open champion, who suffered a second-round exit to Iga Swiatek at the French Open, has been hindered by persistent spasming for much of 2025. She is set to play at Queens this week, with grand slam action at the All England Club scheduled to start on Monday, June 30. 'I got back (from Paris) last week and then I got straight back on the court,' Raducanu told a press conference. 'I had a small interruption with a bit of a back spasm again, which was a bit annoying and that hindered my grass prep. But the last few days I have managed to get on the grass. 'I can't really predict the future. I know I have been managing my back for the last few weeks now and it's something that comes and goes. 'It can be frustrating. I try not to let it get to me because I have a pretty good feel when it happens of how to manage it. All I can do is deal with what's in front of me 'Today was the first day I opened it up and played points on the grass. It is pretty early days and I can't say I have had a lot of prep on it. But I felt pretty good today.' British number two Raducanu, who is ranked 41st in the world, was dismantled 6-1 6-2 by reigning champion Swiatek at Roland Garros. Subject to overcoming a qualifier, she could face current Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova in the second round at Queens, while she is set to pair up with British number one Katie Boulter in the doubles. 'Playing a doubles match with Katie will hopefully give me a good feel for that surface and it will be positive,' the 22-year-old said. 'I really like playing with Katie. We've practised a few times together in the past at Billie Jean King Cup ties.'

Sinner was leading Carlos Alcaraz 2-1 in sets and 5-3 in the fourth, before earning three match points at love-40 on the Spaniard's serve. And it was then that some Sinner fans gleefully raised a finger in anticipation of the World No1 clinching his first Roland Garros title. That's also what happened to Federer in the SW19 seats when he had two match points on his own serve against big rival Novak Djokovic back in 2019. The rueful runner-up said: "It's easier to play than talk now. "I'm still happy with this trophy - I won't sleep very well tonight but it is OK." Meanwhile, Alcaraz praised his beaten rival - perhaps knowing the pair are way ahead of the world's rest in the men's game. He told Sinner: "The level you have is amazing.
