She recalled attending award events in her Swift, saying her outfits used to be bigger than the car. 'They wouldn't let my car enter the venue; they would stop it, and then I would have to show my invite and tell them, 'It's me,'' she said, describing how she was repeatedly held up at events for not arriving in a luxury vehicle.

She considers this a reflection of her freedom and a way of showcasing her true self. 'I don't want that because I want to be spontaneous with my life and just do things on my own,' she explained. She added that not having an entourage does reduce public visibility—but it also allows her to live a simpler, more grounded life. However, she mentioned airports as the one place where fame becomes overwhelming: 'I have dedicated that 1.5 hours at the airport to my fans because it is back-to-back selfies.'
Kalki about her way of living
When asked about the role of public relations and image in sustaining an acting career, Kalki acknowledged the practical side of things. She said that it is important to a certain extent. 'If you are a big actor, safety is a big issue—there are some crazy people out there, especially after big stars—so I understand the need for some people to have bodyguards and PR.'
'I know people who live in a tiny 1BHK, but they have an Audi.

They'll come to meetings in an Audi with a driver, but they live in a tiny hole,' she revealed.

Shobana recalls Amitabh Bachchan's reaction after she was asked to change clothes behind a tree during song shoot. Watch
Actor Shobana recently delighted fans with an Instagram live session, during which she shared insights about her experience working with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in Kalki 2898 AD. Praising his humility and professionalism, she recalled a memorable incident from a song shoot in Ahmedabad that left a lasting impression on her. (Also Read: Mohanlal reunites with Shobana for his 360th film directed by Tharun Moorthy. See new pics) Shobana spoke about how Big B reacted when she was asked to change clothes behind a tree and said, 'Bachchan sir, from then to now, is the same — the most humble artiste I've worked with. Actually, some of the greatest artistes share one trait: humility. I'll tell you an anecdote about Bachchan sir. I shot a small portion of a song with him many years ago in Ahmedabad, where I had loads of fabric wrapped around me. Bachchan sir had a caravan, and the entire city had come to a standstill because everyone came to see the shoot.' She continued, 'So I asked where my caravan was, as I had many costume changes. Someone remarked, 'Ah, she's from Malayalam cinema, they're all very adjustable, she can change behind a tree.' Bachchan sir heard this on the walkie-talkie, immediately came out, and asked, 'Who said that?' He then invited me to his caravan and stepped out to let me use it. Even during Kalki, despite being in heavy prosthetics, he showed such grace and culture. Whenever someone came to meet him, he would stand up to greet them even with all that weight on him.' The mythological science-fiction film, directed by Nag Ashwin, features Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama, Shobana as Mariam — the leader of Shambhala, Deepika Padukone as SU-M80 alias Sumathi — a pregnant lab subject and the prophesied mother of Kalki, Prabhas in a dual role as a bounty hunter and Karna, and Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, among others. The film proved to be a major box office success, collecting ₹1042.25 crore worldwide. The second part is set to go on floors in December this year.

‘Kalki 2898 AD' trivia: When Deepika Padukone embraced motherhood on-screen: ‘Why not carry the baby bump a few more months?'
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Deepika Padukone has never shied away from challenging roles, and in Kalki 2898 AD, she impressed the audiences by taking on the emotionally rich part of a mother—this time, with a twist of sci-fi epicness. Let's take a throwback moment at when Deepika opened up about her character in the movie. Speaking during the pre-release event of the Nag Ashwin directorial in Mumbai, Deepika reflected on portraying a mother in the futuristic world of Kalki, joining a trend that's seen her play mother figures in Jawan and Brahmastra. Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff at Mumbai Airport At the event, actor Rana Daggubati playfully teased Deepika, referencing her real-life pregnancy and the character she plays in the film. 'She is still in character,' he quipped, pointing at her baby bump. To this, Deepika laughed and responded, 'Yeah, I worked on it for three years, so I thought why not carry the baby bump for a few more months.' From Brahmastra to Kalki: Deepika's Maternal Arc Deepika's role in Kalki 2898 AD isn't her first portrayal of a mother. She previously played Amrita, the mother of Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor), in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, though mostly through flashbacks. Her character held pivotal importance to the film's storyline, which explored the Astraverse mythology. Though her screen time was limited, it set up her presence in the coming parts of the trilogy. In Kalki, her role appears to be even more significant, with much of the film's emotional core centered around her character and her unborn child in a dystopian world. Co-starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, the film is one of the most anticipated pan-Indian projects of the year. Marching Ahead with Atlee and Allu Arjun Following the buzz of Kalki, Deepika has already locked in her next big project—a sci-fi action adventure tentatively titled AA22XA6, directed by Kollywood sensation Atlee and starring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. The makers officially welcomed Deepika with a grand announcement video showing Atlee briefing her on the storyline and her role. 'The Queen marches to conquer! Welcome onboard Deepika Padukone,' read the announcement. Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . Deepika Padukone 'Hellbent' On Her Kalki 2 Work Schedule; Nag Ashwin To Replace Her?
Last Updated: Previously, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also removed Deepika Padukone from Spirit. Deepika Padukone has been making headlines for a long time now, but for all the wrong reasons. First, she was ousted from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and then, it was reported that she might be removed from Kalki 2 as well. While an insider recently claimed that reports of Deepika's exit from Kalki 2 are false, a new report has claimed otherwise. If a recent report by Telugu360 is to be believed, Kalki director Nag Ashwin is likely to replace Deepika Padukone from the sequel of the film. Reportedly, the director has penned a substantial role for Deepika in part 2 of his superhit movie. It is being said that her character will have more weight this time. However, the report claims that Deepika Padukone is 'hellbent" on her working conditions and turning out to be a 'big headache" to the makers of Kalki 2. Reportedly, she is not willing to adjust her work schedule or other aspects related to her dates. It is for this reason that Nag Ashwin is planning to replace her in the movie. However, there is no official confirmation to this as of now. On Friday, an Instagram page called reported that Deepika Padukone's demand for shorter work hours post-motherhood is reportedly causing 'friction on sets". The makers of Kalki 2 are considering reducing or removing her role. However, later in the day, sources close to the film's production debunked the theory that Deepika was dropped due to 'on-set friction." 'They (Kalki 2 makers) haven't even approached actors because it's still in development," the insider told NDTV and then added, 'There's been no shoot, no interaction, and therefore, no fallout." Previously, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also removed Deepika Padukone from Spirit. Reports suggest that her demands, including eight-hour workdays, a high salary, and a share in the film's profits, did not sit well with director Vanga. Deepika, a new mother, is reportedly seeking to balance her work and personal life by reducing her working hours. Vanga also took to his X handle and slammed Deepika by accusing her of playing 'dirty PR games'. 'When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are…Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it," Vanga wrote and then added, 'Aisa karo…. Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames. I like this kahawath very much 🙂 खुंदक में बिल्ली खंबा नोचे !" Following Deepika's exit, it was then confirmed that Triptii Dimri will play a part in the Vanga directorial. First Published:
