Steelers legendary RB Jerome Bettis has one major concern about Aaron Rodgers
Jerome Bettis's excitement for Aaron Rodgers is matched only by one big concern — can the Steelers protect their their QB?
In a recent one-on-one interview with CBS Sports, Bettis shared his thoughts — and his worries — about Rodgers in Pittsburgh:
"I think the one big question that you have to ask yourself is, can you protect him?" Bettis said, via CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo. "I think that's going to be the number one priority for the Steelers … If you can protect him, then you can get all the value out of him and that position. If you can't protect him, then it doesn't matter who you put out there. You can play two young guys, it doesn't matter. You're going to get the same productivity. So I think the goal is to protect him. If you can protect him, then I think you get all the benefits of having a quality football player at the helm, at the quarterback position."
OT Dan Moore Jr. — who left Pittsburgh for the Tennessee Titans this offseason — and Steelers OT Broderick Jones allowed the most combined sacks of any offensive tackle duo in the league last season. Jones was forced to play out of his natural position due to right tackle Troy Fautanu's season-ending injury but is set to return to left tackle in 2025.
If the Steelers' offensive line can stay healthy, Bettis may have his Rodgers-related pass protection wish granted — as the four-time MVP prepares for his Steel City swan song.

Aaron Rodgers believes that the 2025 season will be his final one in the NFL and he said the chance to close out his career playing for a cornerstone NFL franchise helped draw him to the Steelers this offseason. He's a solid, solid dude, and he leads by example. The way he practices — I think that's one of the most encouraging things is the room goes how the top dog goes." Metcalf is also new to Pittsburgh and the connection between the two players will play a big part in determining how well Rodgers's last hurrah unfolds this fall.

Former Steeler James Harrison says what we all know about HC Mike Tomlin
One of the true legends in Pittsburgh Steelers lore is former outside linebacker James Harrison. The only undrafted free agent to ever win Defensive Player of the Year, Harrison ws one of the most feared players in the NFL. Harrison was also one of the hardest workers in the NFL. In fact, Harrison still trains harder than most NFL players even at 47 years old. Harrison is also one of those guys who never demanded any special treatment. But during his 10 years under head coach Mike Tomlin, he saw plenty of players who did. Harrison went on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and he said out loud what every fan has been aware of for a very long time. "With Mike, the biggest thing I guess that I like about him is he is a player's coach," Harrison said. "And the thing that I dislike about him is he is a players' coach to a point of, sometimes it can disrupt because it goes maybe a little too far with allowing certain things with certain players. Almost to the point of breaking his own rules to appease their fragile egos. The best example was during Steelers training camp, when the bulk of the team was staying in dorms at Saint Vincent College, former wide receiver Antonio Brown rented a huge home near campus and even brought his private chef. Tomlin preaches that the standard is the standard but historically hasn't held his own players to it and this is why this team finds itself on the wrong end of the playoffs for nearly a decade.
