His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence (KHGC), following the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Kingdom of Bahrain's initiative to designate January 28 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence.
HM the King expressed pride in this international achievement, which reflects the global recognition of Bahrain's leadership in promoting tolerance and coexistence among nations.
He noted that this achievement underscores Bahrain's position in humanitarian efforts and its role in advancing a noble civilisational message based on the principles of human fraternity.
HM King Hamad also commended the efforts of Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed and all members of the KHGC in fostering a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
His Majesty emphasised that the Kingdom remains a model of tolerance and pluralism and a hub for intercultural dialogue, in line with its national values and longstanding traditions rooted in the principles of Islam.
