Anya Taylor-Joy puts on a leggy display as she steps out with husband Malcolm McRae for NYC date after gushing about their first meeting

Daily Mail27-04-2025

Anya Taylor-Joy put on a leggy display on Saturday as she stepped out with her husband Malcolm McRae in New York's trendy Tribeca neighbourhood.
Anya, 29, who has been married to Malcom since 2022, wore a stylish red and black jumper, which she paired with a figure-hugging black pencil skirt with a slit that put her right leg on full show.
The look was brought together with a pair of red flat shoes and small, black sunglasses, as well as minimal makeup on Anya's part, which accentuated her striking features.
She wore her hair down and linked arms with her husband, 31, appearing to enjoy a glass bottle of Diet Coke on their stroll.
Malcolm, meanwhile, was dressed in a smart, dark blue suit that he paired with a silver tie and black shoes.
It is not known where the pair were heading on Saturday, but the pictures came after the pair also made an appearance at Tiffany & Co.'s launch of Blue Book 2025: Sea of Wonder at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Friday.
Anya and Malcolm looked equally loved-up at the event, with Anya stunning in a long black, figure-hugging gown and gold accessories.
Once again opting for a suit, Malcolm put an arm around his wife's back as he looked dashing in a pinstripe number that he paired with a red tie.
He also made sure to be a gentleman at the event too and was snapped holding an umbrella for the Last Night in Soho star to ensure she did not get wet.
The actress gushed over her spouse during a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.
'I love him so much,' she told host Drew when she asked about her partner.
'Oh yeah, he's, I'm very, I'm so lucky. I'm so lucky.'
The Queen's Gambit star also revealed where they crossed paths and the very first thing he said to her.
'We met in a music studio and he's like, I do. I love him. We're born on the same day. So that was the first thing he ever said to me,' she recalled.
'He was like, "When's your birthday?" And I was like, "April 16th." He's like, "I knew it." I was like, "Oh no, this is, yeah." He's the absolute greatest.'
Then, the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga star spoke about how Malcolm is her other 'whole'.
'My dad once told me when I was a kid that you're not looking for another half to make you whole, that you are whole,' she said.
'And if you're lucky enough, you meet another whole,' she continued. 'And then you become, like, a greater sum of your parts.'
She added: 'I just feel like I am encouraged to grow in the most unexpected and beautiful ways because he provides a soil that's, like, really nutritious and safe.
'Yeah, I just, he's the best.'

Huge band demand removal of 'unethical' adverts at venue before gig

Massive Attack - which consists of bandmates Robert '3D' Del Naja and Grant 'Daddy G' Marshall - criticised Barclays in a statement ahead of a gig at Co-op Live in Manchester Massive Attack have criticised Barclays and shared their views, claiming it is an "unethical corporate identity" ahead of a gig at a venue sponsored by the company this week. The band were set to take to the stage at Co-op Live in Manchester before they made the statement. It follows the news of a partnership between the indoor arena and Barclays last month. Two weeks ago, it was announced that the bank has become a "founding partner" of Co-op Live, which opened in the city last year. ‌ Massive Attack - comprised of Robert '3D' Del Naja and Grant 'Daddy G' Marshall - hit out over the partnership in a statement shared on Instagram just hours before their concert at the venue last night. They referenced both fossil fuel extraction and Palestine, and accused Barclays of being a "profoundly unethical corporate identity". ‌ The band, known for songs such as Unfinished Sympathy and Teardrop, said that the gig would still go ahead, though. They told fans that organisers had agreed to remove Barclays promotional material from the arena for it. In their statement shared with their 401,000 followers, the band wrote: "We're so happy to be back in Manchester, and to be playing in this city tonight. We confirmed this show at Co Op Live arena back in January, not least because of the venue's strong sustainability credentials and ethical sponsorship." They continued by writing: "15 days ago, without any advance warning or notification, the arena ownership announced a new corporate sponsorship with Barclays: a commercial identity synonymous with the large-scale financing of new fossil fuel extraction, and billions of dollars of investments in arms companies that supply Israel in its genocidal onslaught of Gaza, and war crimes in the West Bank. "Objectively, Barclays is a profoundly unethical corporate identity. We believe Barclays has no place in any of our cultural or sporting arenas and only learned (with disbelief) of the arena partnership via a local media story." ‌ Massive Attack added: "As a band, we do not want to disappoint fans who have spent their hard-earned money on tickets and are looking forward to the show, especially at such short notice. Co Op Live ownership have agreed to our insistence that all physical and digital Barclays livery and logos be completely removed from both the arena itself and our show page on the arena website, and that no show tickets - for sale or complimentary - will be given to Barclays." The band's statement concluded: "At a time when the world works to tackle climate emergency, and watches on in despair and horror at the scenes of civilian slaughter in Gaza, we're stunned that the arena ownership took this decision to partner with Barclays - especially in a progressive city like Manchester - and then attempted to retroactively apply that sponsorship to artists who would have been deeply uneasy, or refused to align their performances with a venue with Barclays as partner. See you tonight, Manchester. In love and rage, Massive Attack." ‌ Shortly after releasing their statement, Massive Attack shared posts promoting the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, which is an initiative to "accelerate a transition to renewable energy". It included posting a photo of themselves as part of a group holding up a sign for it whilst in Manchester. Among the group of five was Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester. The band wrote in the caption of the photo: "Proud to be part of this story: endorsing the [initiative] with Mayor of Greater Manchester [Andy]." Co-Op Live previously said it had a "shared mission" with Massive Attack to "lead the future of sustainable live entertainment". On a page for the gig, it said it would commit to a "fully plant-based" menu for the show in alignment with the band's "longstanding dedication to environmental action".

Olympic star Ryan Lochte's wife files for 'painful' divorce after seven years of marriage and three children

Olympic icon Ryan Lochte spoke out Wednesday after his wife of seven years announced she had filed for divorce. Kayla Reid and the gold medalist swimmer, 40, share three children together, and she said on Instagram that her decision came after 'deep prayer and reflection.' Lochte also shared a statement of his own as he reacted to the big change. 'I want to take a moment to acknowledge what Kayla shared,' he said. 'This past year has brought major changes for both of us as we've come to the difficult decision to end our marriage. I'm deeply grateful for the life we've built together and especially for the love we share for our three children.' He continued: 'Although this decision hasn't been easy, I believe it's the right step toward peace and well-being for us both. I remain committed to healing, growth, and co-parenting with care and respect as we move forward separately.' 'Thank you to our family and friends for your continued support - it truly means a lot as we begin this new chapter.' For her part, Kayla detailed the 'painful' decision to split from Lochte. 'I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing, and challenging seasons of my life,' she said. 'I've been hesitant to share until I could do so from a place of healing - not from fresh, open wounds.' 'Sometimes we face trials we didn't choose or see coming. And in those moments, we're forced to make the hardest decisions to protect our peace, our children, and our future. 'I've come to the understanding that staying isn't always the most loving decision someone can make. For me, leaving was an act of love - for those around me and for myself.' The couple shares son Caiden, 7, daughter Liv, 5 and nearly two-year-old daughter Georgia. According to court records cited by People, Kayla filed for divorce on March 26. Along with the statement she posted to Instagram, Kayla shared a boomerang video of herself gazing into the distance as she sat outside. She added in her statement: 'Living with transparency and authenticity has been how I have grown into the person I am today, and I'll continue to do so - while also protecting the parts of this journey that are private and unfolding in an unchartered territory.' Kayla, a former Playboy Playmate, concluded her statement by saying she was 'choosing to give herself grace,' while asking for support and prayers from her followers. The couple met in 2016 before getting engaged that same year in the fall. Lochte and Kayla ultimately got married in 2018, with People reporting at the time that they tied the knot in Palm Springs, California. The swimmer, who has not formally retired from competitive swimming despite not making the last Olympics, said in 2019 that the sport was his 'second priority' behind his family after making a comeback. Lochte served a 14-month ban for his use of a prohibited IV infusion, and also spent six weeks in rehab for alcoholism. The Rochester, New York native decided to get help after an incident at a hotel in California. In that instance, police were called on Lochte after he tried to kick his door in, though no arrests were made. His attorney said he had been battling alcohol addiction for 'many years,' and Lochte later said his stint in rehab made him a 'better man.' 'I'm glad that I went to rehab and got checked out just because it helped me out,' Lochte said. 'It helped put things in perspective in my life. What is really more important than going out to a bar and getting hammered or doing anything like that, I go home and I get to play with my kids and kiss and hold my wife. That, to me, is everything.' He was also thrust into controversy during the 2016 Rio Games, after he claimed that he and three teammates were robbed at gunpoint after a night out. It was Later revealed that the armed men were actually security guards and several details of Lochte's story proved to be fabricated. He was ultimately charged with submitting a false report to police, but charges were later dismissed after he apologized. Lochte poses with his gold medal from the 2016 Olympics, where he medaled in the 4×200m freestyle relay Last year, he also revealed that he was in a severe car accident which left him with serious injuries. Lochte shared that he had spent the last 10 months recovering from a crash last November that broke his 'femur in half.' He said on the Athletes Only podcast that he crashed into a truck while on his way to pick up his children from school. The swimmer, who represented Team USA in four Olympics, explained that a trash truck had been parked in the middle of a busy four-lane street with no lights or cones to indicate that it had stopped. The car in front of Lochte managed to swerve but the athlete wasn't successful in avoiding the vehicle and 'ran into the damn thing.'
