Yahoo07-04-2025

Fort Collins police arrested a man on accusations that he provided alcohol and drugs to minors and sexually assaulted at least one of the victims.
The Larimer County Department of Human Services told Fort Collins Police Services about a possible incident involving sexual trafficking of a minor in early March, according to a news release.
Police say their investigation revealed the suspect, 50-year-old John Fischer, had been providing alcohol, methamphetamine and cocaine to minors for about a month. Fischer is also accused of "engaging in sexual activities with at least one of the victims in exchange for cash and clothing," according to the news release.
Fischer was arrested last week and faces two counts of human trafficking of a minor for sexual servitude, a Class 2 felony, and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class 4 felony, according to the 8th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
Fort Collins police say additional charges were filed Friday, but those charges are not yet listed in online court records.
Fischer was on parole in a previous case out of Fort Collins at the time of his arrest. He was arrested in 2018 for pimping after meeting with an undercover officer claiming that he would arrange for his wife to engage in prostitution, according to previous Coloradoan reporting.
He pleaded guilty to pimping, a Class 3 felony, in that case in May 2020 and was sentenced to eight years in the Department of Corrections, according to online court records. The Coloradoan has reached out to Fort Collins Police Services and the Colorado Department of Corrections to find out when he was released on parole.
Fischer is listed as an inmate in the Larimer County Jail as of Monday afternoon. His bond has been set at $300,000 cash only. He is next scheduled to appear in court April 16.
Anyone with information about this suspect or other victims or juveniles who have had contact with him are asked to contact criminalist Laura Knudsen at 970-222-2497.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. Arrests and charges are merely accusations by law enforcement until, and unless, a suspect is convicted of a crime.

Police make arrest in bank robbery that put nearby high school on secure status

Fort Collins police announced the arrest of a suspect in a May 27 bank robbery that put nearby Rocky Mountain High School on secure status for 15 minutes. The suspect was arrested less than two hours after the robbery at ENT Credit Union, 1107 W. Drake Road, was reported, according to Larimer County Sheriff's Office arrest and jail records. The 21-year-old male was taken into custody on felony charges of aggravated robbery, theft of more than $20,000 and three counts of menacing, Fort Collins police said in a May 29 news release. Credit union staff reported a masked man with a firearm had robbed several employees for an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot, the news release said. Officers responding to the call contacted a male near the credit union who matched the general description of the suspect and took him into custody. Detectives executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence, where they 'recovered key evidentiary items,' the news release said. Fort Collins police and the FBI are working jointly on the investigation. The suspect remained in the Larimer County Jail as of 3:30 p.m. May 29. His bond was set at $80,000. His next court appearance was scheduled for June 3. Police are asking anyone with information on the incident who they have not already spoken to contact Detective Al Wilson at 970-416-2923. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. Arrests and charges are merely accusations by law enforcement until, and unless, a suspect is convicted of a crime. Racing Louisville's Kayla Fischer receives 3-match suspension for hair-pull foul vs. Angel City

Racing Louisville's Kayla Fischer has been suspended for three games after pulling an opponent down by the hair, the NWSL announced Thursday. The foul took place in the second half of Louisville's 3-2 win over Angel City on Saturday. In the 63rd minute of the match, while defending a corner kick in the box, Fischer grabbed Angel City midfielder Madison Hammond's hair, pulling her down in the process. After video review, the referee gave Fischer a red card and awarded a penalty kick. Advertisement Alyssa Thompson nailed the penalty, but ACFC was unable to overcome Louisville's early lead. Racing held on to win the away match despite having only 10 players for the final 30 minutes. As a result of the red card, Fischer automatically received a one-game suspension. But in a press release on Thursday, the NWSL announced that Fischer would be suspended an additional two games. Per the league, her actions were deemed "Major Game Misconduct," and in violation of the NWSL's League Operations Manual. Fischer and the club can appeal the ruling, but are not likely to do so, per ESPN. Advertisement Fischer will serve her suspension during Racing Louisville's matches against the Utah Royals on June 6, the Kansas City Current on June 14 and the Orlando Pride on June 20. Due to a lengthy international break in July, Fischer will not return to the field for Louisville until Aug. 1, when the team host the Current again. Fischer, 25, has started all 10 of Louisville's games so far this season. She has two goals and two assists, tied for second most on the team.
